Bill Rodgers is a four time winner of both Boston and New York City Marathons and is a former American record holder in the marathon with a time of 2:09:27 (Boston, 1979).

Bill was born in Hartford, Connecticut on December 23, 1947. His family moved to Newington, Connecticut when he was about 2 years old. After graduating from Newington High School in 1966, he received his B.A. in Sociology in 1970. He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Special Education at Boston College in 1975.

His running career is long and very accomplished, from college to his masters running. He currently is a spokesman for Running Times magazine, and the Bill Rodgers Running Center in Boston. He runs about 25 races a year, and also makes about 25 speaking engagements per year.

Bill Rodgers was inducted to the Road Runner Sports Run of Fame on April 17, 1999 at the Boston Marathon in Boston, Massachusetts.
