Why Handcycles?
A handcycle can transform a child with disabilities from sitting on the sidelines watching other children play, to participating and excelling in sports. Handcycles open a whole new world to explore for these children. They are more maneuverable and versatile than wheelchairs or other forms of mobility. Handcycles give them the chance to ride bikes with friends and family, set personal goals, and dream of winning gold in the Paralympic Games!
Our Reason For Being
Since 2000, Athletes Helping Athletes has provided handcycles to over 375 children with disabilities. AHA is also supporting handcycle programs throughout the U.S.

Handcycles are expensive. They cost $1,600 to $3,000, or more! That puts them out of reach for many families of children with disabilities. And it's rarely covered by insurance. But, the benefits of handcycles far outweigh the cost. You can change a child's life by contributing to AHA today.
