Runners and Walkers treated to free health and fitness clinics, special offers, giveaways, and free food during the Shoe Dog Days of Spring event April 19-30
April 19, 2008—It's officially Spring, and Road Runner Sports, the nation's largest retailer of running gear, is celebrating by holding the Shoe Dog Days of Spring April 19-30 at several of its newest retail locations. For two weeks, customers will be treated to free in-store running health clinics, special offers, prize giveaways, and free food at participating Road Runner Sports stores in Westminster, Colorado; Kent, Washington; and Shrewsbury, New Jersey.
Guests will enjoy exciting educational clinics ranging from "New to Running" and "Core Strengthening," to "Improve Your Running Form" and "Ultra Running Training." The stores will also feature a women-specific clinic that will cover fitness techniques, nutrition basics, and how to find properly fitting apparel.
Road Runner Sports' Shoe Dog Days of Spring is named after the breakthrough running analysis center that helps customers quickly and easily find the right pair of running shoes. Every Road Runner Sports store across the country is equipped with the new shoe-fitting system.
Mark Sullivan, editor of Running Intelligence, recently made a surprise visit to the Road Runner Sports store in Paramus, New Jersey, and wrote afterwards, "The Shoe Dog process was one of the best fit processes I have ever been through."
Michael Gotfredson, founder and owner of Road Runner Sports, says that the key to a lifetime of enjoyable, injury-free running is wearing shoes that fit an individual's feet perfectly and address their unique foot mechanics. To do so, Gotfredson said, "I asked my team of running geniuses to build us the best shoe-fit system available, and after a lot of research and testing, Shoe Dog was the result."
Gotfredson explained, "I tested it the other day, and after 10 minutes of computer analysis, treadmill testing, and personal attention, I was fitted in the perfect pair of shoes and insoles. I am not exaggerating when I say my aging joints have never felt better."
Matt Levine, Certified Pedorthist and Road Runner Sports Fit Expert said, "Every foot is unique. The great thing about Shoe Dog is that whether you walk, run, or race, our breakthrough Shoe Dog System makes it easy to find your perfect fit." Sullivan agreed. "The process was quick, easy to understand and upbeat."
Road Runner Sports also launched an online version of Shoe Dog that helps customers narrow down their choice from over 9000 in-stock running shoes at www.roadrunnersports.com/ShoeDog.
