Asics GEL Kayano '00
This high-tech trainer utilizes the best in ASICS technologies and provides the optimal blend of cushioning and stability. The Impact Guidance System works to reduce the large shear forces created when the shoe hits the ground. This shoe also features a stability cradle with a medial side DuoMax post and the Internal DuoTruss System for enhanced cushioning and responsiveness. The unique outsole features a full AHAR heel and medially reinforced DuoSole forefoot for flexibility and late-stage pronation control. A leader of the ASICS line, the GEL-Kayano 2000 provides runners of all shapes and sizes with a dynamic ride from heel-strike to toe-off.
"I was very satisfied with these shoes. I wore them during one road race (Fred Lebow 5-Mile Classic, 40:57). They have a roomy toe box, little slippage in the heel and look sporty but not overly flashy. Plus the reflective trim is an advantage for twilight and night running. Some of the trim and threads were coming loose, so they don¿t seem very durable. I'm pleased to have had the chance to try the sort of shoe I might not have ordered myself."

"I have a wide foot and generally buy New Balance shoes because they come in widths. The Asics GEL Kayano fit comfortably in the heel and mid-sole, but was a little snug in the toe. I was a little apprehensive about running with the snug toe. However, I found them to be quite comfortable and I suffered neither blisters nor any noticeable discomfort during my runs. I also used the Kayanos during my weight-lifting workouts, at which time I also do some time on the Life Cycle. I use my New Balance [827s and 852s] the same way, and the Kayanos were comparable. They have good stability, are fairly light and have good cushion throughout."
"For what the retail price is for these shoes, I was not completely satisfied. I like the looks of them and the cushioning was pretty good for soft surfaces like a treadmill or indoor track, but not good for asphalt. I actually had some pain all along the bottom of my feet during an outdoor run on the street. I usually wear Saucony Hurricane or Cyclone and I like Saucony much better. It was nice to try another shoe. Thanks for including me."

"Thanks for introducing me to the ASICS shoe line. After running in Nike shoes for years, I¿ll probably switch over for the next pair I purchase! These shoes have a good amount of reflective material. There's good padding around the Achilles tendon area. I have plantar fasciitis, and the gel cushioning seemed to be kind to my feet."

"I ran in them almost daily in extremely cold conditions, with snow and ice on the ground. I have run in ASICS for 14 years and, in the past, have always preferred the GT series over the GEL series. Kayanos are the first pair of GELs that I have tried that provided the stability and support I prefer. I've recommended these shoes to a friend and he loves them. In the past, he always felt he was not getting enough support and stability from his running shoes (he is 6-foot-4). Kayanos are the first pair of shoes that provide both. Kayanos are for any runner looking for stability and support. They handle short and long distances (including trail running) very well."
