"This is my off season. I run twice as often for more miles in the spring and early summer. But I did three days/week of heavy running and three days/week of speed walking with my wife. The shoes provided exceptional traction and cushioning. Both of these features are especially important for me running here in the Northwest, as I pound down steep, wet hills. These shoes had one of the best fits I've ever had. It was like wearing gloves on my feet."

"I tried to put quite a few miles on them (about 25 miles/week split between four runs, in total somewhere around 100 miles), and there was no breakdown in any part of the shoe. I usually wear Asics, and these were comparable in their cushioning. Although they were just as good as Asics for the road, I didn't think they were as stable on my trail runs. The top of the shoe has extremely breathable fabric and I really noticed the breeze when I first used them. But I liked the fact that they kept my feet cool and see this as a big plus in the summer. My Asics are $80 and these are $115 - I don't think the Mizunos are that much better."
"I put about 140 miles over 26 days on these shoes. I ran on pavement, dirt paths and snow-covered roads. The tread design with a long gap in the middle is not good for snow. The gap packs full and you end up running on a snow ridge. For a cushioned shoe, it has a stiff ride, probably due to the rigid plastic arch bar. It was less responsive, more like a stability shoe, but it cushioned well. The toe-off is pretty good, but I didn't care for the wide heel counter and felt the tongue width was insufficient. These shoes would be good for runners with medium width feet who are heel-strikers and want a shoe with a rigid arch/midfoot."

"These shoes were comfortable from the first time out. There was no breaking-in time needed. They are more breathable than other shoes out there and are also very lightweight. I noticed during my speed-walking that the arch took a little getting used to - it seemed higher or differently placed than in other shoes. Also, the mesh tops of the shoes make them breathable, but beware of puddles!"
