Why insoles? Numerous studies have shown the health and performance benefits that come from replacing the factory insole in your shoes with a supportive footbed.
A good insole supports your foot in a neutral, natural position so that your arches can do their job of supporting your weight, cushioning against impact, and transferring energy during your stride. This support for the foundation of your body helps keep it in alignment throughout the kinetic chain, which can prevent and alleviate many common running injuries.
Footbalance Custom Insoles include a patented dynamic support plate that flexes to allow the healthy, natural pronation that your body relies on for shock absorption, while guarding against unhealthy pronation. Your feet and ankles stay active, without the passivity that can occur with too rigid orthotics. With improved energy return, each step becomes more efficient, improving your performance.
How to pick an insole for running
With over 12 billion feet in the world,
out of the box insoles can't fit everyone.
Footbalance 100% custom-molded insoles can.
First, you need to know your arch type and mechanics. Do you have a fallen, lowered, normal or high arch? Does your foot roll inward moderately on foot strike? Roll inward excessively (overpronation)? Or do you take the foot strike on the outside of your foot (under pronation aka, supination), with little flexing of the arches? Do you have any existing foot or running injuries like bunions, plantar fasciitis or runner's knee? Other factors are also important- including your weight, weekly mileage and preferred terrain. All of these factors affect the amount of stiffness and cushioning you need, along with the type of arch support.
With such a variety of factors, what works for someone else out of the box won't necessarily work for you. Road Runner Sports recognizes that your feet and needs are unique. That's why we offer Footbalance 100% Custom-Molded insoles - formed to your feet based on your needs. Our experts will select a base with the right stiffness, cushioning, and width for you, then mold it to ensure it supports you throughout the weight bearing and non-weight bearing phases of your running or walking gait.
What people are saying about Footbalance "I love my Footbalance Insoles! The fitting process was quick, easy, and even fun. I had pretty bad ankle pronation and Achilles heel pain before. Both conditions have improved greatly after several weeks of running in the insoles, and my shoes have never felt more comfortable?I'm currently training for a marathon and don't think I'd be making such great progress without them!"
-Karim H., San Diego, California
"As a nurse I am on my feet 8 - 12 hours a day and injured my left foot that caused me to have back pain. Because of my Footbalance insoles I now prefer to stand instead of sitting because I have better balance and they are comfortable. I am also using them now in my hiking boots, and I can feel a difference when going down hill as I have less knee pain."
-Juliet L., Monterey, California
"Throughout my life, I have been very active. Since the age of five, and through today, I have played vigorous sports year-round. This activity has taken considerable toll on my body. I recently started using Footbalance Insoles. Since placing custom insoles in my work shoes, running/athletic shoes, and softball cleats I have noticed a positive result in the way my body feels after work on a daily basis, as well as after sporting events. The insoles have worked great! I wish I started using them years ago."
-Branden T., La Mesa, California
