Saucony® Grid Trigon 4: Guide
Compared to the previous model (Grid Trigon 3 Guide), the changes in this
version are minimal. But the biggest and most important change is that the forefoot has been
opened up to fit wider feet better. From a ride standpoint, it's tough to find the differences
between the 3 and 4. The same soft feel within a solid base combine to give you a smooth and
stable ride. If you were in the 3, buy the 4. If you are looking for a good shoe to rotate into
your mix, give this a try, you'll like what you feel.

Saucony® Grid Trigon 4: Ride
The Neutral category is full of really good running shoes and the Trigon 4 Ride fits right in.
This shoe has built a loyal following and now that the narrowness in the toe-box has been
corrected, it should attract more converts. I generally judge a shoe by how "quiet"
it runs and how my feet feel during and after a run. This shoe does run quiet which simply
means it's soft and smooth. As for how my feet felt...even after 15 miles, I didn't notice the
shoe and that's a good sign. I can't say that about too many shoes.

Nike® Air Pegasus 2006
The Pegasus is like the weather in Texas: if you don't like it, just wait. The '05 Pegasus was
too firm overall and the fit for both men (too narrow) & women (too short) was sub-par. But
the Pegasus '06 goes back to its roots and you're going to love it again. It's a neutral, built
to last shoe with just one frill: an AirRide liner that rests between the midsole and your foot
to give you a soft yet secure feel. The upper is more open to fit more men's feet and women
should be able to buy your pre '05 Pegasus size. We're thrilled with the '06 Pegasus.

New Balance® 1222
In a long line of highly successful premium footwear comes the New Balance 1222, the first
update to this shoe in almost three years. It's got the durability you expect and the immediate
"this shoe is different" comfort. Although New Balance is known as the brand with the
best fit, the biggest improvement in this shoe is the fit. Your feet just feel more
"welcome" in this shoe instead of feeling uninvited. Also, better materials were used
in this update so it's very stable and well-cushioned. Your ride will be softer but still
control your feet where you need it. The combination of a great new fit and some modifications
to technology lets this shoe live up to its price.

Garmin® Forerunner 205
Every once in a while a product comes along that sets the bar higher for all those trying to
compete with it. With the new Garmin 205/305 GPS units, that bar is very high. First is the
start up instructions that come in the box. My 7-year-old son got my Garmin 305 set up. It's
almost as simple as "strap it on and go." To dial the monitor in for your age, weight
etc. is simple on the monitor but even easier if you do it on your computer using the
piece-of-cake-to-use software that comes in the box. The next piece that makes this Garmin
product very cool is the display. The numbers are big and readable and all the info you could
possibly want is right there on the screen. Once done with your run, plug the monitor into your
computer (plug in provided) and see your results in seconds. You see your pace and, with the
305, your heart rate in graph form compared to your distance. Above that graph will be your run
course mapped out. One click and all of your statistics are in spreadsheet form if you'd rather
see the numbers. Two of the knocks on previous Garmin units were that they were big on your
wrist and that they lost satellites in dense trees and tall buildings. They've addressed the
size a bit but it's still not watch size. At the same time though, it's all you need to carry
(with the 305 there is a Heart Rate chest strap). With other speed and distance monitors there
are multiple pieces. Although the 205 and 305 occasionally lose contact with the satellite,
it's much better than it was. I think if you want to know everything about your run, the 205,
or better yet the 305, is where you should put your money. You will not be disappointed.
