My name is Jose Manuel Ruiz. I am 9 years old. I have Cerebral Palsy Quadraplegic seizures.

I want a handcycle because I like them so much. I like it because I can pedal with my hands. I can pedal faster with my hands than my legs. I love the blue bike with the big wheels, I can take it anywhere and ride with my friends, I can take it into Sea World, the zoo and the park. I can take it where ever my mom goes. Thank you.

The City of Chula Vista Recreation Department Therapeutics Section has completed the third and final session of hand cycling for the Spring Session of 2005. We are so proud of our collaboration with Athletes Helping Athletes and the participants we serve in our community with physical disabilities.

We have two outstanding children that are very committed to the sport of hand cycling. I would like to submit their stories for granting a hand cycle from Athletes Helping Athletes. They are very active individuals and they were committed to showing up to each and every class. Individually, they have taken the time to write their personal story and why they would like their very own hand cycle.

The City of Chula Vista Recreation Department Therapeutics Section would like to thank Athletes Helping Athletes for a successful collaboration. We hope your organization can fulfill our participant's dreams of carrying on a life long sport. We look forward to a fun-filled summer of recreational activities and events.
