Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

I love this shoe! Don't stop making it! Ordered the Kayano 14's to have on stand-by and they ARE NOT THE SAME! They rounded the toe which makes them a hair shorter. They suggested to go up a half size but I wasn't sure that the arch in a bigger size would correspond with the arch on my foot(I read that somewhere).

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

I love these shoes! I had the XII's and they got me back into running. I've had lateral meniscus surgery some years ago, but am very sensitive to when the midsole starts to wear out because my knee starts feeling pain. Last week, I felt a twinge of pain, so right away got my next pair of Kayano's...this time the XIII. I've run 4 times since getting these shoes and have not had any pain!! Panic set in thinking I would have to stop running but thanks to these shoes, I'm still running! Yeah!!!

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

I love Asics Gel Kayano 10, 11, 12 great... the best running shoe ever. I think they went too far trying to improve a perfect thing... the 13 is not as comfortable and actually causes pain in my shin and calf after even a short 2-3 mile run.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

Love the K13s -- K12s were okay too but K11s were too narrow. Love the wide toe box. Only bad part about Kayanos is is that I wear out the inside heel liner (sides) faster with them than any other shoe -- am not sure why. Helped stop pain in legs from other shoes though.

I'm ordering my second pair of Kayano 13's. I did not like the 12's but I loved the 11's. I've ran in Sauconys too and the last Sauconys caused alot of leg pain and pain in one of my arches. I never have any problems with these. They feel great. Only size up 1/2 though.

A friend swears by ASICS so I thoughtI'd give these a try until the Saucony Hurricane 10 come out. I had to stop 3 miles into the first run: felt like my right ankle would snap off. Felt like I was fighting the shoes the whole run. Thank goodness I bought them @ RRS and could take them back. Nice looking is the best I can say about it.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

I am very disappointed in Asics. They seem to be making their shoes cheaper and cheaper every time. I got the correct size, but the heel fit is so sloppy my foot kept pushing forward to the top of the shoe. I changed the lacing, but it did not help and I bloodied my second toe to oblivion. The ride is extremely hard and what cushioning it did have went dead after two months. A real waste of money, I am looking at other brands now.

I've been a big Asics Kayano fan for years, but this year's shoe was a disappointment. I purchased my pair in late August and the inside section above the heal has already worn out. My shoes typically last at least six months. Not sure if I'll buy another pair or try a different brand next time.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

If you need a stablity shoe these are the best I've found, I've tried 4 Asics and 1 Nike in the last 6 months. I like the cushioning better in the Nimbus, but feet were hurting due to not enough support. My first run in these was 8 mi and no problems other than the balls of my feet (common for me). I like Asics b/c of their narrow heel, I have a long, skinny foot. I got 1/2 size bigger like recommended, espeically if you run long distances and feet swell.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

Just a quick follow-up to my previous review of this shoe. A Customer Service Rep was kind enough to call and let me know that the Size 13 is available at RRS, but it is listed under two different Item #s. If you input kayano in the search box, the men's and women's shoes come up in the search. One box shows the periwinkle and white shoe with Item #ASC1261 and that one only goes to Size 12. Further down on the page the shoe is pictured in white and gold with Item #ASW1506. If you click on that box it shows both shoe colors and goes up to Size 13. I'm so glad she called, but how would the average customer know this is the way to find the size? I'd spoken to another rep earlier and he told me unfortunately he could not special order the Size 13 from Asics for at least a month. He's a Customer Care Specialist and even he did not know he could find the larger size this way!

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

I'm a larger runner (5'8" and 160 lbs), overpronate and had shin splints when I ordered this shoe. All my runner friends wear asics so I gave in to them and decided to try the Kayano's. Nice shoe, well cushioned until around mile 6 or 7 and then my knees started to hurt....then the blisters on my heels came and I was done. I still like the shoe and decided to keep it for shorter runs but I probably won't order it again.

Here's my stats to better help you decide if this is the shoe for you: I normally wear a 8.5 but I wear a size 8 in these, I have a slightly narrow foot, low arch, pronate inward, run about 30-40 miles a week (treadmill), am 5'4" tall and weigh 110 lbs. Great cushoning and stability...I have finally found the perfect shoe for me...hope this info helps y'all!

I have a large frame, normal arches and wide feet. My favorite shoe has been a predecessor, Kayano XI. The XIII is a bit longer in the toe box, the outer sole feels more rigid, and the heal seems narrow. I wore them in a half-marathon and they just didn't have the pliable, responsive feel of the XI, and my soles ached.

OUTSTANDING shoe!! Offers superior cushioning and transitions, even for a 'Clydesdale' (> 140 lbs) like me. Fits like a glove! Feather light. Size runs a bit larger than #, i.e. normally wear a 10 but could have gotten a 9.5 in the K13. Goodbye to New Balance--caused nothing but foot problems for me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Kayano 13!!

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 13 Running Shoe:

I am 6' tall and wear a Women's Size 11 street shoe. I should have been able to wear Asics Gel Kayano in a Women's Size 12, but it always fit a full size too small. I was thrilled to hear Asics now makes them up to Size 13, but please NOTE: RRS does NOT carry the Size 13; At first the 13 felt too large, so I bought the 12.5. Having run in them for a few months, my report is I need the Size 13 after all. I suffer from bloody toenails whenever I run long in these shoes (13-20 milers). Inexplicably, it happens to my 2nd toe on each foot. I don't know if this is due to not enough room in the toe box or the loose fitting heel that causes constant slippage (I certainly agree with the other comments here that the heel fit is TOO LOOSE). Lastly, the cushioning is not as good as I remember; just 3 months of wear and it already feels dead. Maybe it is back to running in Men's shoes for me until Asics works out the kinks.

Had been running in the Gel Kayano XII's. Tried another brand, experienced knee pain. Went back to the Kayano XII's and running again without problem. I am 5' 5" and about 110, mild to mod. over pronator, and this brand and style really seems to work well for me. I also run on concrete and dirt trails, so the extra cushioning seems to help quite a bit. I also wear custom orthotics which this shoe accomodates just fine. I hope this helps someone else looking for just the right shoe. I have always had such good luck with the Asics brand.

This version is better fitting in the heel, but there seems to be more room than I need in the toebox. My toes are holding on for dear life in there! Definitely size 1/2 size DOWN, NOT UP as recommended. They are a little stiffer than previous versions. I'm not sure I'll buy another pair.

I love the K13, I was getting blisters in another pair of running shoes that I thought I would give a try but went back and ordered a pair of the new K13's and my blisters went away, GREAT SHOE!!!

LOVE this shoe...have tried almost every shoe out there and was still getting injuries, but not with this one.

No more hip pain!!!!These are by far the best shoes I have ever run on. I have been running for the past 23 years. I started out in asics many years ago, tried all other brands and in the last 2 years my hips started hurting. I purchased these shoes 1 month ago, I am pain free and kicking up my mileage....

I really liked Kayano XII, the fit was great; I wear D width and did not have any problems even when I run a marathon. Kayano XIII is not the same. I got the same size D width; they are narrow and I have had terrible blisters. I am looking for a different model.

These are a little loose in my heel, but as a whole, the shoe is outstanding! I can run for miles in comfort with the gel cushoning. I have recommended these to everyone that I know.

This new version seems to run a little larger than the past versions of the Kayano. I wear an 8.5 in dress shoes, so have always worn a 9 in the Asics Kayano. I was surprised when I trie on the size 9 that I ordered in the new Kayano 13....too big! You may not need to go 1/2 size up in this shoe as recommended by RRS. Still a great shoe though!

PERFECT!! To be clear for EVERYONE out there, the Kayano 13 is sized larger than ever before. You need to buy a 1/2 size SMALLER than what you've been buying in past Kayanos. This is the key. If you buy the same size you've been buying in past K's, you will most definitely suffer from numerous problems including knee, shin, etc... because the shoe will not be doing what it is designed to do for you. Make sure it fits like a glove. Don't let your heel have ANY extra room!! Sorry for the long-winded exhortation, but the running community needs to know the truth about the K 13. It is better than ever PROVIDED you purchase the correct size for your feet!!!! Hopefully this review will serve to quell some of the naysayers out there who don't understand the new design specs of the K 13. And, above all, I don't want poor sales of the K 13 (due to uniformed reviews on sites such as this) to lead to the demise of the Kayano, because it truly is the best running shoe ever made.

I LOVED the Kayano 10's and ran through three pairs of them. I just purchased a pair of the 13's but am going to return them. They were extremely stiff, even for a new pair of shoes - not something I remember from my old pairs. I still love the shoe, but am going back to the 12's.

Great shoe. I loved the Xlls. They did add an extra block of cushioning in the heel similar to the Kinseis and more cush in the forefoot which was much needed.

These are nicely cushioned and felt wonderful when I first started running in them, but after mile 7 I started noticing a small blister on the ball of my right foot. Went back to my Kayano XII till my foot healed and tried again with the XIII, but I could feel the beginning of a hot spot in the same place as my first blister. I think it is because the foot box is a tiny bit wider and maybe I have a bit more movement. I usually take a D width, but the Kayano XII in the B width fit perfect. Would never have believed they would fit. Had to send these back. Too bad.

I could not wear the 12's, but have had many years of the Kayano's! This one has much better cushioing than the 12's. I am relieved I don't have to find a new "perfect" shoe for me! I only needed to order 1/2 size up on this Kayano.

I have a leg injury and am very limited as to the type of shoes I can wear. The gel kayano is the ONLY shoe that gives me the support and freedom I need to walk normally. My PT was equally impressed and now recommends them to other clients! A+++++!!
