Comments about Mens ASICS GT-2130 Running Shoe:

I've run in the 2100, 2110, 2120 and now the 2130s. I logged 400 miles in each shoe until now. After just 90 miles these shoes are killing my knees and my legs feel more fatigued after my runs. The cushioning is fine, but there's just something wrong with these that I can't seem to figure out.

Comments about Mens ASICS GT-2130 Running Shoe:

I'm a fairly light (145 lb) runner and a moderate pronator. I was a big fan of the GT2080 and 2100s but skipped the subsequent incarnations until the 2130s arrived. My initial impression was that ASICS finally went back to the fit and feel of those earlier models. Unfortunately when I actually started running in them, the first thing I noticed was the lack of cushioning in the forefoot which seemed to contribute to a loud footfall and an awkward transition. I am typically not a loud runner. As others have mentioned, I too have experienced blisters in my arches as well as on the outsides of my big toes. Despite the fire sale prices these shoes are selling for now, I don't plan to get another pair and will probably no longer stay with the GT series

Wonderful, but don't expect them to last long. Heel lost cushioning and control after ,250 miles for me. I'm 5'10" and 160#, and had gotten much better wear out of 2070s, 2090s and 2110s.

Comments about Mens ASICS GT-2130 Running Shoe:

Serious waste of money. The ride is unresponsive right out of the box and the cusioning is DEAD after two months. It gave me blisters on my arch, despite using plenty of BodyGlide on my feet. Lastly, this pushed my feet forward as I ran so I bloodied my toes, even though I ordered my usual size (half-size up from my street shoe).

Comments about Mens ASICS GT-2130 Running Shoe:

This is the best stability shoe I have ever worn. I run around 30 miles a week in the shoes and my first pair lasted over six months before I had to replace them. The only negative about the shoes is that they are being discontinued. It's a great shoe. Well worth the money. Stock up on these in case the 2140's aren't as good.

Comments about Mens ASICS GT-2130 Running Shoe:

Longtime Asic GT runner but this shoe is the worst by far. I was worried about the reviews on this shoe but Asic had done well by me in the past. These felt great the first few (short) runs but 10 miles into my first long run, it seemed like all the cushioning was squeezed out and I was running on bricks. Shins, knees and feet started aching immediately (which has never been a problem for me). I will be testing out the return policy....

Best shoe ever. 6'2" 230lbs, high arch, over-pronator weightlifter who likes to run. Even better than the Gel Nimbus 7's. Everything else gives me knee, ankle, lower back pain. I need major cushoning and stability and this shoe did it. I am amazed. I thought I'd never fall in love again, but I did!

Long time runner with the GT series (go back to the GT 2070). Great shoe overall, but they don't last as long as the older models. I used to get 400 miles out of the older models, now I only get 300. Also, the inside lining near the top eyelets and around the heel show wear. The durability issues are the only thing preventing a 5 star rating.

For the longest time I never had a running shoe that would support my low arch. The 2130 not only brings support but the cushion around the whole foot is remarkable. I am 5'-6" and 150 lbs. Running or walking around town makes the journey very comfortable and enjoyable. Currently, I am on my second pair and plan to buy another pair soon.

Comments about Mens ASICS GT-2130 Running Shoe:

These are a softer shoe than the 2120s and perhaps too soft for me since I wear orthotics and have a flexible foot with low arches. I feel that I am leaving something behind on the pavement--too cushy and not enough responsiveness is my first impression. The upper fits well--it is just the midsole that doesn't seem right. Too soft of shoes translates to sluggish runs for me.

Great fitting shoe, no heel slip like mizuno aspire. 6ft 2in and 220 pounds. Do not understand what the big deal is about the kayanos but these shoes feel great. Not as snug in the midfoot as kayanos. Went out for a 3 mile run and no problems. Why pay the extra forty dollars for a kayano?

I run 15-20 miles a week. I had a pair of Nike running shoes prior to these. After about 6-8 miles in my Nike's my feet, ankles, and knees would start to hurt. Now that I have these Asics I don't have that problem. These are the best running shoes I've ever used. I use these combined with the Feetures Light CoolMax with Fresh FX socks. This is a great combination. The shoes give you great support and stability and the socks keep your feet cool and blister free.

I left the 2100 series with the 2120, went to Kayano, but the new 14 sent me back and to my surprise this is a much better shoe. Good support, instant out of box fit, and great cushioning.

new solyte is softer but the shoe still feels dead.Asics what happened to your shoes?I guess gel sucks because you keep reformulating the mid-sole.

Comfortable shoe. I like the cushioning. But after 172 miles the lining around the back of the heel broke. It creates painful blisters. This is my 1st Asics (5th shoe as a runner) and the only one that I will have to change because it broke.

Agree with other reviewers that this shoe resembles the 2080 in ride. Fit is superb for a normal to slightly narrow foot. If you liked the wider fit of the 2090 and 2110, you may not like the slightly snug fit of the 2030. The Solyte cushioning is no problem for me, even following 20+ mile runs. The 2130 is fairly light for a trainer, although I wouldn't use this shoe to race at any distance other than an ultra. Silver/maroon color is rather ugly in my opinion for men, although women seem to really like it.

I just don't get it....these shoes are just awful after the first few runs. It shin pain, knee pain etc. I wonder if Asics put its logo on a pair of crocs and called them the 2140 they would automatically win the Editors Choice award.

Just finished a 14 mile run in these and I feel like I ran barefoot! Much less cushioning than the 2120. I just ordered 2 pairs of the 2120's and i will be sending the 2130's back!

These shoes look good, and felt great right away. However, very quickly, I developed pain in my left achilles. My wife, in women's GT-2130s, also developed left heel pain, on the outside. I called RRS. The Fit Expert with whom I spoke said the heel on these is more narrow than earlier models. Too bad, since these seemed to be a big improvement on the GT-2120s. We're going back to GT-2110s for now.

Great feel right out of box. Responsive, stable, makes you want to run and not think about the shoes.

Much better comfort and fit than the 2120 which irritated the top of my big toe and just felt too tight. The 2130 feels more like the 2080 with a wider forefoot and toe box, resulting in NO irritation and plenty of toe room. The 2080 was the best shoe I wore in the past 20 years. It performed exceptionally well for me in marathons. I have heard similar stories from other runners as well about that shoe. Wish I could still get them.

I'm 5'10", 170 lbs. Pretty flat foot, standard width, and heel striker. I'm also a really big freak about not having any heel slip when I run. I switched to to these following several years in the GT 1100 series. It was a mistake. I wanted to go to something stiffer (which this shoe is), but it just didn't fit me. My big issues were that there was some heel slip, and that the shoe was too narrow. These problems might have been related, but the end result is that the shoe did not fit.

I have not had them long enough to speak about the durability, but they ran well right out of the box. I stepped on a piece of barbed wire on a run and had to manually remove it, but you cannot even tell on the sole. I did a 14 miler in them last Sat. and a 20 miler the Sat. before and they felt great. So far they are the best shoes I have had.

A much better shoe than the 2120, I had at least 6 pair of the 2000 series but after a few miles on the the 2120 I switched brands. Heard the 2130s were improved and agree whole heartadly.

Improvement over the 2130's. Not as cushy as the 2110's, but pretty smooth and comfortable after a couple of runs. Decent stability, but definitely narrower than the 2110, about the same as the 2120 (forefoot wise).

I have to be honest, I keep buying these shoes and love them for the first few run. Then I wind up getting upset at myself when the bottom falls out and the shoes die.

I've been on an unending search for a replacement to the 2080's smooth, flexible support for quite a while now. Wish I could say the 2130's were it...I'm still searching.

Love this shoe. Just started running again and upgraded from GT2090 (been a while since I've run!) The old 2090's are wide EE but don't normally wear wide shoes. The 2130 fits great in normal D width. Ran 65 miles in the past month in them with no problems. Will buy 2nd pair soon.

As usual, ASICS has done a nice job with this upgrade. I liked the GT-2120 fine; but this has a smoother ride (heel to toe transfer and toe-off), better lining in the heel cup, and seems to encourage you to run more on your forefoot than the 2120 or earlier models did. It has a more sock-like upper, yet a very firm heel counter. I've done several runs on pavement and trails. Nice cushioning, too.

A vast improvement over the 2120! New softer and more forgiving Solyte forefoot midsole has noticeably a more cushioned feel. Heel to toe transition felt outstanding on a 7 mile training run right out of the box yesterday. I'd say even a better version of the well liked GT-2120 model. A definite winner, in my opinion.

Just got mine today and went for a 6 mile run. Much better cushioning than the 2120. The fit is nice; snug with a roomy toe box and a nice smooth ride. It feels like the 2110 but lighter and with a slightly more generous toe box.
