It took me a while to figure out what shoes work best for my stride and foot but i sure found it with these! They fit like a glove, have the best cushion support and the perfect arch for my flat feet and for my half marathon training. Recommend for people doing up to 45 miles a week and those who have flat feet!

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

I run approximately 15-20 miles/week and had always worn Adidas. It wasn't until I ran a half marathon with a pair of Adidas that gave me blisters on both feet in the exact same spot, I decided to try another brand of shoe. I purchased these and they have proven VERY comfortable and long lasting. My first pair have now been retired to my everyday "tennies" and I no longer run in them, but I am still very comfortable. I have a bad back from years of working horses and I used to get sore running in other shoes, but have had no increased back soreness from these shoes. In addition, the cushioning is great and my legs and feet are not as fatigued as they were when I ran in the Adidas and Saucony. Maybe I just found a better fit for my feet, but these shoes have been great! I also have the trail runners!

I started training for races last year and had a hard time deciding which shoe to choose. I am so glad that I went with the Asics GT2140! I LOVE IT! I wore Asics Gels when playing volleyball in high school (15 years ago), and I guess I'm an Asics girl for sure now.
I am kicking myself for not buying a second pair when I found them on sale. Hoping that the 2150s will be just as good.

I have been using this series of shoes since 2002 and nothing as been as good as the GT 2110. The GT2140 have been the worst ever. I have had terrible blistering afer every run. At first I thought it was that the shoe was a little big and I bought a smaller size to solve the problem. However,I had no luck and the results were the same. I can wait until I get my hands on another pair of 2110s and I don't have to cut my runs short because of the pain. I am actually trying to stay away from the 2150s unless there is some neeeded improvement.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

Like many reviewers here, I have been wearing ASICS for years, and I have been quite pleased with their performance. However, the 2140 were a disaster from the first mile: a severe blister developed on the arch of my right foot, which happened every time I ran. When I discussed the issue with a salesperson, he said he had noticed that the arch is in a slightly different place than previous models. Hm.

ASICS, I am not mad at ya for this misstep (ha)...just keep making the older models! Thanks much.

I have been a loyal Asics wearer since the 2100 model. I LOVED this model and didn't have one problem with them. In fact, I bought 2 pairs - one to train in, one to race with. Looking forward to getting my new 2150's on, but I'm still knocking 30-35 miles a week in my year old 2140's.

I have worn the GT 2100's series for some years now. I loved every pair I had. However,I have had a number of issues with the GT-2140 model. On the very bottom of sole of the shoe, water starting building up. The moisture is most likely due to sweat, rain, etc... Not sure how it started seeping through, probably through the liner. There is really nothing to do to remove the fluid. I have since returned both pairs back to the manufacturer.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

My first run in these shoes ended early (3.5 miles) with blisters on the inner arch of my right foot and serious hot spots on the outer sides of both feet. They felt a bit roomy, so I chalked it up to that & on my next run I wore 2 pairs of socks. This solved the blister problem, however, I could feel cramping in my feet and my calves felt like lead. Third run (7 miles) felt pretty good throughout, but within 5 minutes of finishing, the outer side of my right foot became swollen and felt bruised-peroneal tendonitis. I blame the shoes. Blisters, foot cramping/tendon issues have never been a problem for me before. I'm going back to New Balance.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

I have been wearing this series of Asics for about the past ten years and have truly loved them. I could always put a pair on and hit the trail...never a "breaking in" period. I never experienced ANY ill effects from this series of shoe. I have recommended them to numerous people when they are looking for the perfect shoe. However I now am wearing the 2140 shoe and absolutely despise them. My toes go numb, my calves are sore, and have had some minor ankle pain. The toe box of the shoe feels absolutely too large (and I have a wide foot), so I am constantly cinching the laces which in turn causes my toes to go numb...a vicious cycle. A minor detail, but very annoying, the laces are always becoming loose during my daily five mile run, so I am always stopping to retie my shoes. I certainly hope Asics go back to the older model. "If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it!"

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

Based on my experience with the 2130's, which was great, I expected running in this shoe to be even better...but the 2140's have given me blisters on the arch of my left foot after almost every run. I assumed this would stop happening once I broke them in, but I've run about 100 miles in them already and it continues to occur. They also feel very stiff; they don't have as much cushioning and flexibility as in the 2130's. And, my IT band problems seem to be exacerbated by these shoes, probably because of the stiffness and lack of adequate cushioning. I'm ordering the 2150's today...but if you are a woman, have low flexible arches and are a lightweight runner (5'6" and 115 lbs) with IT band/periformis issues, like me, I would say skip these shoes, even though they're on sale.

I have been running for over 35 years and these are by far the worst shoes that i have ever purchased. The fabric has worn through in the toe s well as causing pain in my arch and up my leg after running. Unless they provide me with some type of relief, this will be the last (sadly as i have worn ASIC's for almost 20 years) pair that i purchase.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

I have 6 pair of the 2130 and have loved them. I was hesitant when this shoe came out because I am prone to tendinitis on the inside of my shin and I always have problems when the shoe changes. My first run out I blistered terribly. That should have been my first sign. From there things went down hill fast. I was training for a marathon and got to my 16 mile run and couldn't even walk. I blame the shoes. Everything I did was the same as my other marathons but the shoes. I am frustrated and having a hard time even liking running again. Running with pain is no fun. The tendinitis is the worst I have ever had and I have been to doctors all summer. Needless to say I never did the marathon and now I am trying to get back to an easy 10. I am thinking of trying the Nimbus.

I've been running in the 2100 series for years with success. I put 300 miles on my GT-2140's, and I can honestly say that the 2140 is the worst version of the entire line. I can normally put 350 miles on my Asics, but by 250 miles these felt completely broke down and ready for retirement. I have tendonitis in my left ankle, and this shoe aggrevated the condition. I found the shoe to be too soft, and I am only 105 lbs. I bought the Asics 3010's to try, and what a major improvement. They are firmer, ride closer to the ground, and my times have improved 30 seconds per mile without even trying. My tendonitis is barely noticeable now. Most likely I will try the new 2150 when it comes out, so I haven't totally given up on the 2100 line, but the 2140's are now happily gone.

I have always run in Nike's, but decided to try something new. I bought the asics GT 2140 and have to say that I am pretty disappointed. Within a month of running in this shoe, I have bruised toes, bunions, big toe callusing and an incredibly painful shin splint. I only run about 25 miles a week too. I don't want to speak poorly of the shoe, but it has really not been the shoe for me.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

I have worn this series from years- back to when they were 2090's. I never had any issues with the 2120's although I know others complained about lack of cushioning but those were my favorite model. The 2130's gave me some really bad problems- mostly pain in my arches and I was so happy when the 2140's came out. I had bought up a stash of 2120's so I only had to wear one pair of the 2130's until the 2140's came out. I like the 2140's but they are so darn heavy! What ever happened to having a light shoe? I also have wide feet and bought my usual side in wides, and my shoes are actually a little too big. The 2140 is by far the roomiest model I've worn yet. I usually size up a full size and I think with these I only need to size up a 1/2 size and not buy the wide width. I think my biggest complaint is that these shoes feel really heavy- I'm really not happy with them at all.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

Asics ought to bring back the features of the 2120! I traded down to the 2120s when the forefoot of my Kayanos started to wear out at about 100 miles of running. The ball of the foot cushioning compressed and the soles would split. Had the same problems with the 2130s. By the feel of the 2140s after just a few runs I'm thinking I may have to find a new brand of running shoes after more than a decade of successful ASCIS shoes.

Comments about Womens ASICS GT-2140 Running Shoe:

I'm rating only four stars because I have done only two runs in these shoes -- so far they are great. I have a pair of 2130s that are about a year old, and I absolutely love them. I almost did not buy these 2140s based on some of the reviews but then decided to give them a try. They have great cushioning and support -- time will tell if I like them as well as the 2130s but they are good so far. I am a fairly slow, medium pace runner, neutral stride, 125 lbs.

I have tried two different inserts (throwing good money after bad)in hopes to salvage all the money I put into them. It was all to no avail. I really think I was sold a used pair of shoes - nothing could be this bad.

I have had these shoes for several months. At first I liked them, however after about 1 month of use a large hole developed in the heel of my right foot. It was almost like I was putting on my shoes without untying them first. It didn't cause pain but was an issue. Also, the toe box and overlays across the top have caused issues with my pinky toe nails (something I've never experienced before). Now they're at the point where they've broken down (much quicker than expected) and I need replacements. Love ASICs, really dislike these shoes and am having a hard time trusting another style will be better.

I have run in Asics for years and the 2140 does not disappoint! I have posterior tendon issues and am prone to shin splints, but this shoe has been great. I have a narrow heel but I am locked in with this shoe - no slippage at all even with standard lacing. I do agree with a few of the other reviewers that the shoes does seem to break down a little faster than previous pairs, but that is a minor consideration in my book.

Disappointing -- I wore the 2120's and LOVED them. Bought my 2140's three months ago, and they are already shot -- cushioning is non-existent now, they feel super-heavy, and even the fabric is ripping apart -- I run about 20 miles a week and alternate shoes, so I haven't really packed the miles on them. I think I'm giving up on the 2100-series -- I'm going to give the Nike LunarGlide a chance -- hopefully these can make it through until the release date without falling apart.

I've been alternating between asics 21xx and New balance 76x for the past several years. Overall, I've been quite pleased with the 2140, though I'm beginning to feel the wear after about 270 miles, and they are a bit heavy. They've been solid for my short 3-6 mile runs for over 5 months, but I wish I though I could get another 60 miles or so out of them. My last NB pair seemed to last longer, though these are superior in cushioning.

I think these are great. This is my first time wearing Asics I have always worn Nike in the past. These fit very well and are very comfy. I am 5'4 130 with a normal arch. I'm Glad I took a chance and tried them out.

I have been wearing the 2100 series shoes for about 4 years. The 2140's made my toes go numb on both feet on a long run. I changed into my old 2130's and the numbness disappeared.

I sent these back the first day. I am used to the 2130's and the 2140's had a strange fit around my heel/Achilles tendon. They actually hurt my Achilles just walking around in the house. Got the Kayano's instead.

I've been running in Asics for several years, but this is my first experience with the 2100 line. I think these shoes are great...they're cushioned enough to protect my knees, plenty of room in the toebox (I always buy wides), overall a great-fitting shoe.

I have worn the predecessors of this shoe and to me this one feels more stiff and has less cushion. They feel flat--which concerns me. Only one run on them so far--so maybe they will grow on me.

These fit nicely and have wonderful cushioning for running. I felt like I had springs under my feet. Great shoe!

Switched from a motion control shoe to this one at the recommendation of a running expert. Very comfortable and lightweight! Almost felt like I had a spring in my step. I really enjoyed running in them, but after the very first run I developed a blister at the bottom of my arch. I have never had a blister in my life, so I am assuming this shoe is what caused it. After treatment, the blister went away and I continued to give the shoe a chance and ran in them for another 1.5 weeks. ANOTHER blister developed, in the same exact spot and it was bigger. Sent the shoes back and will be trying the Mizuno Wave Alchemy 8.

these shoes are better than the 2130 when it comes to cushion. they are very comfy. i also bought the new brooks gts 9 which are also good so far. brooks have a little more stability.

The shoe is very well cushioned and responsive, but it's way too loose around my heel. I started getting really bad heel pains when I ran in these for a week. I had to trade them in for the Kayano. the 2140s aren't nearly as snug around the heel as the 2130s were. I'm not impressed with this version.

I have been wearing the 2100 series for the past several years and these are definitely the best of the line. I have the 2100 which I like very much and the 2130 which I do not like and hesitated to order the 2140 but decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did. The cushioning is great and the toebox is still wide which I need. It's like they used my feet to design them! I run 3 to 4 days a week and the fit and cushioning of these shoes is fantastic. I highly recommend them.

I also love these shoes. I can go between an 8D or 8.5. With these I had to go 8.5 due to the piece of material they put by the big toe. In the 8D my toe would have rubbed there. Cushioning feels great.I am glad to see a grey shoe for fall and winter. Still need to take it out for a long run (14 miler) but so far so good.

I've been an Asics 21xx wearer for the past 4 years, and love the updates on the 2140s - great fit and cushioning - and I think these are the best out of the 2110-2140 line. I'm 5'4", 130 and a heel striker. I'm training for a half-marathon and have worn the shoes on a couple of my shorter runs and my last 10-miler, and I'm very happy with the shoe. The insert/sock liner is much softer and cushier than before. I also think the collar and heel tab are plusher than previous versions. The toebox is roomy as always with a snug heel fit. The only thing I don't like is the color options - I got the silver/turquoise - it's alright, but nothing I'm really excited about. At least right now, this site lists the 2140 as 12 ozto me, they feel similar to my 2130s, which are around 9.8 oz.
