    Perhaps the only shoe ...

    By T. M.

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

Perhaps the only shoe reliably directed at the late stage overpronator. The arch is more subtle than last year's model(a good thing--if you have a high arch you probably do not need this type of shoe!) and the medial support extends further towards toe-off. The 3010 is smooth, well made, and after ,100 miles, shows little sign of wear. Excellent.

This shoe is for the late pronator. I am not sure what that is but if your feet splay out like a duck when you walk or run this shoes will help you. The shoe has excellent blend of cushion and stablility for high weekly mileage marathon runners.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I have used other Stability+ shoes and these are the best ones I've found so far, enough to not look for a different shoe. I've run 2 Half Marathons and I'm training for a Marathon now and these are great shoes to work with. I have a pair of the ASICS GEL-Kayano and those are good but a bit stiff and harder on the feet on long runs. The website recommends sizing a 1/2 size larger and this true and I use the 2E width and these shoes are great for those with wider feet. I'm on my 2nd pair and if you are looking for a Stability+ these are worth a try. Highly recommended...

      By Jason

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I bought these shoes because they have more cushioning (gel) in the heel, but it was a mistake. The shoe is poorly designed - the gel in the heel is not distributed evenly; the majority of it is on the outside. As a result, it caused my feet to suppinate extemely - I've had right knee pain for a month now. The heels on shoes also wore very fast; these are too expensive to replace so soon.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

If you liked the Gel-Kayano 14 but disliked the 15, this is the shoe for you. The cushioning and ride aren't quite up to Gel-Kayano standards, but the important thing is that the fit of the 3010 is very similar to the fit of the 14. In particular, the 3010 has a large toe box, unlike the 15. (It also has conventional lacing, not that insane system the 15 has. Who thinks these things up, anyway?) I adored my two pair of Gel-Kayano 14's, but they're gone. The 3010's will do until ASICS gets it Gel-Kayano act together.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I have done 2 Half Marathons and I will probably run a Marathon or 2 in the future. I do keep up with the Half Marathon Distances each week and I run about 20-35 miles per week. At 215 lbs. I find these shoes are really great for middle distance runs of 5-10 miles. Running longer distances e.g. 12-18 miles in these shoes gets a bit uncomfortable for me. So I use the ASICS Kayanos shoes for those distances. I would use these shoes on race day though for either a Half Marathon or a Full Marathon.... Overall a great shoe and I highly recommend the product.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I bought these a week before Commrades, a 56-mile ultra run on the roads of South Africa because I needed a shoe to provide a great mix of stability and cushion to help with a new injury. Shoe fit me great. Cushioning is a good mix of soft in rear and firm in fore. Like the width of toe-box for accommodating swelled toes. Bunion window is a great addition. Shoes accommodated my orthotics very well. I would buy again if future models fit the same.

This is a great show, but during the breaking in period the blisters can pop up quite often. Tad bit heavy (made for heavier runners, so i should have figured). Break this shoe in well, and it will treat you well. Recommended with caution.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I've found them to be perfectly adapt to my running gait. But I think that everyone has an individual running gait. As for me, I'm a near "motion control' runner. But I really don't want to bother. I went with this shoe because it does have that stability reinforcement on the inside of the shoe, in addition, its very low to the ground and has a low-cut feel. Which means I can really allow my ankles to move and relax. As for cush? I find it to be better than the 3000 and also a lot more flexible.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I was a huge fan of the GEL Empire II until it was discontinued. The GEL 3000 didn't come close to the Empire II, however, for those Empire II fans, the 3010 is a step up. The heel is not nearly as tight as the 3000, the IGS system is dialed in and the toe box is perfect. I tried numerous other shoes, but nothing compares to the cushioning in the heel and the almost launching to forefoot that the IGS system provides.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I'm 5'8 190 lbs. Not my normal weight, been running in the 2140's but due to recent weight gain I thought more cushioning would help untill I'm back to my normal 175 lbs. Have been doing between 4 and 5 miles for a usual run. Ran in the 3010's today and after 3.5 had to stop and walk home. They gave me a blister on my right heel and I had extreme pain in my left achilles tendon. Too narrow thru the midfoot. Definately not the shoe for me.

I use these shoes on the treadmill at the gym 3-5 miles a day and on the road as well. I have not had these shoes long enough to find anything wrong with them, but so far so good. The picture is misleading, they look much better in person, so don't shy away based on aesthetics. I upgraded from 1130's and the 3010's have much better cushioning. Softer cushioning around the ankle and on the tongue which is where I get my blisters and the gel heel is like heaven. The toebox has plenty of room but is not too loose. As far as sizing I can only say they fit the same as my 1130's in the same size, but they hold my foot a little better which is expected with a better shoe. Definitely would recommend this shoe to anyone who spends a lot of time running or even just a lot of time in the gym.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-3010 Running Shoe:

I tried on about 15 different pairs of shoes, had my gait re-analyzed and these were the shoes that I came up with. I over pronate just a little and have a higher arch. These shoes were not curved as much as some other pairs that were targeted for more extreme pronation and that was exactly what I was looking for. I usually put new insoles in most of my shoes as well but have not needed it in these. The only thing I dislike about the shoe is it only comes in one color. This is also true for its new younger brother the 3020. It is super light with a very stable toe box and perfect for my needs.

I'm getting close to 200 miles since I've gotten these shoes and they have yet to show major wear and tear. I expect to get around 500 miles in these. The large toebox is great too.

I've worn the Creed, Creed Plus, Empire, Empire 2 shoes over the years. The Creed were the best ever. The Plus was just awfully stiff, the Empire's were more like the Creed and I had 3 pair of those. These 3010 are worse than any shoe I've ever had. I work the Kayano 15 and they were okay before getting the 3010. The Kayanos didn't have enough cushion in the forefoot so I figured the 3010s had to be better. They are awful. My feet have never felt so awful. The outer edge of my feet felt as if there was a stick poking them. I've ordered the new Kayano 16. I hope they are better.

I have not been injured in 8 years, having run numerous marathons in that time. Any ideas as to what might be different between these and the 2140s & now 2150s? Thanks.

An improvement from last year. Not as stiff with a very smooth ride. If you like a low profile stability shoe with forefoot control and a lower arch than the kayano or 2140 this is it. The posting doesn't get in the way or lever your heel out and the forefoot control is subtle but nice;snug heel and midfoot and a WIDE forefoot, Flexibility is better than last years 3000.

I'm happy with this shoe...way happier than I was with the 2140 and 2150. I've been running ASICs since the Gel Lyte and was ready to switch brands after my 2150 experience. Glad I tried these. Confidence in ASICS somewhat restored.

Perhaps the only shoe reliably directed at the late stage overpronator. The arch is more subtle than last year's model(a good thing--if you have a high arch you probably do not need this type of shoe!) and the medial support extends further towards toe-off. The 3010 is smooth, well made, and after ~100 miles, shows little sign of wear. Excellent.

This shoe is great. This is my first year doing crosscountry and this shoe has made foot injuries a rare occurance. I'm getting close to 200 miles since I've gotten these shoes and they have yet to show major wear and tear. I expect to get around 500 miles in these. The large toebox is great too.
