I run on pavement on hilly roads. These shoes are GREAT! They have a rare combination. They are light, with great flexibility through the forefoot. But they have great support and good impact cush through the heel. And, they are easy on the legs. I train for anything from a 5K through the marathon. At the end of a training run my legs always feel fresh enough for a final push through the last miles. Most importantly, my legs feel good after the run so I go the next day. They are good on the hills, the flats, and the track. I train in these and have raced in these. They let let you hit your stride and feel easy doing it. I hope this is the beginning of a long line of these because I will definitely continue getting them.

This is really a great shoe. I run mostly mid-long distances (half-full marathons)and wanted to try a lighter weight shoe compared to the landreth 6 asics I was using. These shoes did not disapoint; and for being light weight they are extremely durable, great cussion, and provide pretty good support. The only thing I would change is the color to something a little less flashy, but it's well worth the trade for th performance of the shoe.

When I got these shoes, I'd been doing a lot of training in racing flats. I like to use as light and minimal a shoe as possible, but found the flats got uncomfortable at distances past about 10k. I was also wearing through them very quickly at full training volume. I've done several tempo runs and long runs in these and I couldn't be happier. They are light, flexible, and fast, with just a little cushioning for comfort.

If the DS Sky Speed is a new shoe then we are in luck! I run on rolling pavement....nothing flat. And these shoes are just a wonderful ride. Impact is great on the downhills. The shoes are light, but have wonderful impact cush and support! It is easy to hit a smooth stride -- the have just enough flexiblity through the forefoot and wonderful support in the heels to let anyone feel comfortable. What is best is that near the end of a medium to long run (8 miles to 15 miles) these shoes let you feel that you have "legs" left to bring it home strong. These shoes are the rare combination -- light weight, cushy, great ride, and feel great at the end of the run. I will be buying these again and again.

I race about 10 5ks a year and always in an Asics racing flat. I recently bought the Sky Speed as I wanted a shoe that was a little lighter than my typical trainer to do some faster road workouts. The 9.8 ounce shoe felt as light as my 6 ounce flat and provided more cushioning, but not as much as a larger/heavier trainer. I liked it enough to use it in a race recently and ended up winning it. Great shoe that is lighter and faster than it seems.

Liked the first pair so much I bought a second as a back up. I have run distances up to a marathon in these shoes with no problems. I like the light weight, fast feel, and minimal drop between the heel and toe.

My husband had been an avid cyclist but due to where we live now, is unable to so he tried taking up running. He had his ideas about what shoe was ideal for him and wound up getting constantly injured. Finally, I picked this shoe for him to try and what do you know? I was right!

This seems to be an ideal everyday trainer for me. I've taken them out for long runs up to 15 miles so far. They are light, low to the ground, yet seem to be very durable. I'm impressed!

I've been looking for a replace for the Nike Skylon which was revamped about 3 years ago, and this shoe finally seems to be the one. It is light, comfortable, cushioned and supportive.

I purchased these shoes as a lighter weight alternative to my Asic 2110's (which I have worn for years) that I could wear for my first marathon. They performed great. During training I used them for my long weekend runs so that I would not wear them out quickly. Another great product from Asic.

I've run a couple of times in these and love them. A little truer to size than last DS. Feel great - good blend of cushioning and support for me - male, 6'1", 150 lbs.

Bought these to use for speed workouts and race day. I am a big time ASICS fans and normally run in Nimbus. So far I have been pleased with my Sky Speeds. They are light and very flexible (I really enjoy walking in these). Obviously you give up cushioning, but afterall they are classified "minimalist". With that said, I am a mid foot striker and Sky Speeds seem to have adequate cushioning where it counts.

I'm a 155 Lbs, 40-60 mi/wk runner. Most of my running is on roads with some light trail running and the occasional track or hill workout thrown in. I had been running on the Speed Star but the latest updates have been getting just a little to minimalist for me. The Sky Speed reminds me of the old Gel Lyte (the shoe the Speed Star replaced...) It has enough beef to it to protect my tender feet. If they keep the Sky Speed around I may yet someday forgive ASICS for getting rid of the Lyte.

I bought this shoe as an alternative to the adidas Boston which I found to be a bit heavy and clunky and to rotate with the Brooks Launch which I really like for maintenance and long runs. I've used the shoe for maintenance runs of 12 miles and feel pretty confident that I could use the shoe for long runs as well. I haven't used the shoe for tempo or track workouts; however, the shoe feels fast enough that it could probably be used for this purpose (I prefer the brooks green silence and adidas adios for these purposes). I've also run in the snow and rain and found the shoe to have pretty good traction and haven't noticed the shoe wearing out quickly. My only complaint is the price which seems high relative to other shoes with similar weight and features (e.g. brooks launch, adidas boston, etc.). I'm about 5ft 8inches tall, weigh 175 lbs., run between 65 and 85 miles per week, and am a slight underpronator.

60+ mile per week runner 170lbs. I was looking for something to replace the speedstar 3's (as the 4's and 5's are terrible - see review). Well thankfully these answered my calling. They are almost as light as the 3's with a very similar feel to them when running. I believe the heel toe ratio is lower on this by tad and they a bit harder on the forefoot. This is not a cushion shoe by any means. I would use these for tempo run and the occasional long run.

Fits like the ds 15 for length. The midfoot wrap is nice. A smooth cushioned ride with good flexibility. Forefoot padding is good but not stellar. A good racer for 5k to marathon.
