Product Description:Men's BROOKS® CASCADIA 5 :: Trail aficionados love this shoe for its brilliant blend of traction, cushioning and support. Now you'll love it even more! The men's Brooks® Cascadia 5 is updated with a few minor adjustments to the upper. Enjoy more-open mesh for greater breathability. It also allows water to flow out more easily when running through water crossings. You'll also notice a more secure midfoot fit for greater comfort. Don't worry, the cushy, supportive midsole is still the same, as is the super-grippy outsole. 12.0 ounces Category Type:

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: they fit almost a full size smaller than what I found with Asics. The arch support isnt bad. I have inserts in them as I have very high arches. The shoes are comfy and cushion pretty well. As I mentioned they are very slippery on slick surfaces. Especially road lane markers when wet. I would say they are more comfortable than my Ascics and would give the shoe a better overall rating than a comparable Asic.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Brooks Cascadia 5 represent the perfect combination of comfort, performance, durability and style. Over 600 miles on my first pair and they are just as comfortable today as the day I bought them. The uppers and insoles are still 100% intact and the only wear is on the soles which are about 90% worn down, but still provide good stickieness on all surfaces, wet or dry. Excellent support and traction on technical rocky terrain and pure foot forming comfort on groomed and paved trails. Don't shy away from the men's funky green color - as they pick up trail dust, they morph into earthy tones and eventually fellow hikers will start looking you in the eye again instead of staring at your shoes. I've already recommended these shoes to fellow trail runners, family members and friends and they're now belivers too. I'm breaking in my second pair and will soon retire the originals from everyday trail work, saving them for just hanging out since they feel so good.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I purchased these for use as a trail/light hiking & climbing shoe. I'm an avid road runner (marathons) and was looking for a shoe that gave me the feel of a running shoe with the durability and traction of a boot/trail hybrid. These have been perfect. I wear them for hiking and climbing and they give me great support while allowing my foot to feel the ground underneath. They are versatile enough to wear all day for a combined hike, run, climb, mtn bike ride, etc... The traction is outstanding, especially in wet conditions on slippery granite. They offer great lateral support while allowing your ankle and foot to flex depending on the terrain. I would wear them for a trail run and they could be worn for road runs as well. Overall a great shoe.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: WOW!WOW!WOW! The same day I got these I laced up and test drove them on a 20 mile trail run. No break in required. The traction is superb, your feet are very feel protected from the trail debris. Cushioning was superior to many other shoes I have owned and lightweight also. I was able to insert my superfeet (after removing the insoles first)and the shoes felt great!

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I have high arches so I really should not have been using neutral shoes, but I didn't know that until recently; in the meantime I've always bought shoes for stability because I run either on grass or in the desert (where I tend to twist my ankles) to protect me from the shin splints I get on the street. These shoes have been wonderful: they wear long, cushion very well, have excellent traction, are comfortable, and though I've used insoles that support my high arches, with these shoes I haven't *had* to. I even love the color and the way they look.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: This is an excellant trail shoe --- surprisingly lightweight yet very durable and lots of stability/cusioning. I run 20 to 30 miles per week, many of them on various trails in all kinds of weather conditions, on a reconstructed knee so always struggle with knee related issues. This is without question the best trail shoe i have ever owned!

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Great shoe for any situation. Found only one thing it doesn't work with: calisthenic exercises that involve planting your toe on cement. Other than that has worked great for me.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Only used a few times so far, but good traction on rougher unmaintained trails. Handles a stream crossing on wet rocks well. Has some zip to it on faster trails & good on the road to the trails.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: 6'2" 195lbs...20-30 miles/week...ITB issues. I road run in Asics Kayano and LOVE THEM so I thought I'd go away from the Cascadia and give the Asics Trail Sensor 3 a try (disliked them) and now I'm back to the Cascadia 5. I trail run on everything from walking trails to highly technical trails and these work for me. Sometimes I wish they had a little more toe protection when I'm on the more technical trails, but the soft cushion of the sole and the out-of-the-box comfort are more than enough to keep me happy. I wouldn't use these on the road b/c of my ITB, but I could see where they'd work for some people. They're that comfortable. (I would like to see a more weather resistant version come out.)

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I've used this shoe in the Swiss Alps and in the Southern Californian back country. In both environments I thought the shoe worked as if it had been custom-build for the very trail I was running on. Especially on steep inclines on unsure footing, this shoe gives you the confidence to power up and waste less energy trying to avoid slipping. I've had great success racing at shorter and longer distances in the Cascadia 5.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Have used these trail runners for about everything. On my local singletrack, in my backyard working, hiking in Colorado, they even took me Rim to River to Rim in a day at the Grand Canyon!

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I have used the Cascadia since it inception. I find the fit is perfect for my feet, equal to or better than some other Brooks road shoes. I wear the Cascadia 5 on paved trails and blacktop roads to get to my favorite trail. They are well cushioned and comfortable on the road, yet the outer soles wear better than expected--those lugs are tough!

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Found this shoe by luck in 2004 and havent worn a different trail shoe since. Always feels broken in with the first step an hugs trails like theres no tomorrow. Love this shoe! Have won trail races with this shoe through the 50K.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: I have been wearing Cascadia's since their inception and have worn 3-4 pairs to date. The shoes are sized well, have a wrap-around fit, and have a responsive foot pad that allows for excellent trail "feel"...which is important when traversing rocks, roots and modulating terrain. The shoes vent well and shed mud and water after stream crossings.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: Yup this is my 5th Cascadia, but first of this new 5th Generation. I bought 2 other trail shoes when I got this new pair, and they just cannot rival the Cascadia for trail running. I do about 30 miles a week and my feet do not get tired in these shoes. The others made my feet hot? Kinda weird, but I think they were just working harder in those others.

Comments about Mens Brooks Cascadia 5 Trail Running Shoe: used it on a difficult trail in bad weather conditions: very good traction on rock and in mud.
