I tried the racer after this thinking I needed something lighter but I was wrong. After this I will only wear Brook's. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Best running shoes I have ever had!!! Used NB, Nike, Asics in the past, and will always buy these Brooks. Never any discomfort or injury with these shoes. I am 6'2 195 tennis player that runs to stay fit. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Got these on advice of a good running shop and the plantar faciatus went away and the no injuries until recently at over 300 miles on the shoe. I am 185 so definitely replace at 250 to 300 mile and I had some issue in the toe box Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: This is an absolutely horrible model of the Glycerin. The concept behind the shoe was to be some what Neutral in design - which means allowing for some degree of natural motion to occur, without correction. In this particular model, the company has decided to add a stitched support across the tops of where you metatarsals should sit (i.e. - the first break at your toes. The pressure that is exerted on the dorsal aspect (top part) of your foot - has the potential to cause a tendonopathy. I've been trying to fend mine off for 3 weeks now, to no avail. I have temporarily pulled out an older pair of Glycerins until I get the problem with the new design hammered out. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: This shoe works really well for me for high mileage training. Very plush ride, yet still responsive. It is heavy, but who cares - I'm not racing in it. Great Brooks fit and absolutely no pain. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: 6'-0", 185#, 12 US, 8 min/mi, neutral. I loved these when I tried them on in May, and I loved running on them when I was building up my distance. Now I'm up to 30 mi/wk and having a lot of heel pain, something that never happened in years of running NB. Either they broke down after 300 mi. or the distance made a difference. Always felt much harder than my Newbies. Nice shoes for runs <10 mi. anyway. Well made. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: I just got them and feel they are a great replacement for the Nimbus 9 that are no longer available. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Really good shoe for neutral runner. Great cushioning, but not mushy like Triumphs, Vomeros, etc... Good response, durability, lacing system, ventilation, even the insert is quality. Long time (30 year) Nike peg wearer. This is a high end shoe and worth the price. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: These are very good running shoes for a person with wide feet. The are wide from the mid-foot to the toe box. The heel is snug. The cushioning is very soft but not as soft as the Nike Vomero 3, which I think are too soft. The heel is a little too elevated for me. All in all the Glycerin 6 is a good neutral running shoe. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Got these shoe on the advice of a specialty running store. I have high archs and run aprox. 30-40 miles week. My heels have never hurt so bad. I can hardly walk after a long run. Going back to the Nimbus. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Loved this shoe. Was a Asic fan, switched to Defyance this shoe has more cushion and lasted longer. I supinate terribly and these stepped-up to the challenge. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Have had the Glycerin 4's & 5's, as well as several other Brooks shoes. These shoes are comfortable with good cushioning, but they just feel heavy and almost bulky. I find these are good shoes for recovery runs and long-slow runs. The MOGO midsole is nice, but you DO HAVE to break it in a little. I am waiting for the Ghost to come out to see if they will feel much lighter. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: I am a neutral runner (6'2" and 175lb). Great training shoe, comfortable with good cushioning without feeling spongy. A bit on the heavy side but that's what racing flats are for. I plan on using these for long slow days. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: plantar faciitis gone. love this shoe. heel cushioning is awesome, up to six miles and feeling great. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: I thought this shoe would be an improvement over the 5, but those hopes were evidently in vain. Like the 5, this shoe still has the inner forefoot ball that rubs my feet raw, even wearing anti-blister socks. Based on the last two offerings compared to the Glycerin 4, it appears as though Brooks is crossing over into the fashion footwear industry, which is fine if that's how you market your product. Brooks, however, is marketing its product as a running shoe. I am not a fan of this trend. If only I could get my hands on a pair of the Epiphany 1. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Tried 3 different pairs of this shoe and all ran very narrow for a std. 8.5D width. Really disappointed in toe box fit because this shoe appears to be well made, has adequate cushioning in all the right places and, contrary to some other reviews, it has good curb appeal even in lime green. Gave it a 4 rating only because of the fit issue. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: In 25 years of running, Brooks is the first company I've come across that refuses to manufacture shoes in sizes smaller than an 8 in many of their models. I found this odd when I switched to Brooks a couple of years ago, but I worried little about it as I was wearing the Glycerin, which I could get in a 7, which is what I wear. Now, sizes smaller than 8 have been eliminated in the Glycerin 6, effectively eliminating me as a customer. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: until now the best glycerin :) Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: Just visited US from Ireland, and had the luck to stumble across Roadrunner. I am a heavy runner, male, 32yrs, 190lbs who had already run 2 marathons. I have always had a serious pain in my medial shin. Running the majority of the time in pain. I ran my 2 marathons in Asics Nmbus with an arch support my physio recommended. Well i have to say my visit to roadrunner has changed my running life. I got the shoe dog test and was recommended the nimbus, glycerin and the wave rider. I tried all 3 and loved the Brooks. I got a superfeet stability insole to correct my slight over pronation and it was a eureka moment. I have ran 30 miles in them now without shin pain. I never thought that would happen, i was so happy. As a life long Asics user i never thought i would change. I had never even heard of the Brooks brand!! But Brooks in conjunction with the superfeet insole have changed my running life. Thanks to the amazing friendly and professional staff in Roadrunner San Diego. Comments about Mens Brooks Glycerin 6 Running Shoe: I have to agree with Martin, for years I was reluctant to try onother brand but Asics. Just recently I bought a pair of Glyceryn 6 and so far I am very happy with them. The cushioning at the heel is excellent but one might not benefit from that depending on the way that one touches the ground when running. The only reason why I have not rated these shoes 5 stars is that they are a bit wider that I though. It is a good fit though for runners that have wide feet an are used to New Balance. Overall a great product, attractive styling an excellent finishing.
