Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: I really wish that Brooks wasn't updating this model, but I've lived through lots of other line changes by them in the last 20 years...ho hum...I run 4-5 times a week in alternating pairs of this shoe. I am 5'11" and weigh about 180lbs. I have a neutral gait. I have run as far as 20 miles in these shoes, but more typically run 4-10 miles on everyday exercise and in races. I have not tried them on trails other than crushed limestone where they perform well. On pavement, they are wonderful. Some cushioning, but not so much that you lose "touch" with the street.
Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: I am a marathon runner and use these shoes for training. They have held up for 8 months and fit my feet very well. The inside soles are starting to wear out but everything else about the shoe is awesome. Comfort, weight, durability. Good work Brooks. Pros

Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: The bottom line when looking for a great running shoe is comfort..beyond everything else it has to feel good..although this shoe is great quality it has a firm ride..some will love this but for me,I want to run in total comfort and so far thats been the asics nimbus and nike vomero
Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: 5'9, 140 lbs, 30-40 mpw. I liked the original Defyance but found it to be a little too much shoe - a little inflexible and clunky, but overall a solid shoe. I preferred the Ghosts, but the Ghosts didn't hold up as my primary trainer. The Defyance 2 is smoother than the original, and it also seems to have a better feel for the road. I alternate these with the Launch, and it works well. I got 375 on my original Defyances, and these have 400 and are still going strong. On my second pair now. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: I agree with Rodolfo. I like the first one better and didn't stock up before they made the transition (and can't find them anywhere), but I still run in the defyance 2 and will buy another pair. Best shoe for me. I hear a third is coming soon. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: 6'2" 220 lbs Army 25-35 mi per wk: I straight ran the soles off my defyance ones with no issue. I bought the defyance two because AAFES in Germany has a poor selection and I loved the original. I put maybe 100 miles on the 2s and developed shin splints and my plantar fasciaitis started to flare up again. Im not sure what it is exactly, but they are just not supportive enough in the heel and too cushy under the toes. I'm back in my broken down ones right now trying to decide what to wear next. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: I love this shoe - great forefoot cushioning and very flexible. Unfortunately, the toe box is HUGE. I actually lost a toe nail over time with these shoes - that has never happened to me before. It's too bad, because I really want to be able to wear these shoes. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: 5'7, 155 lbs. I ran 40-50 miles a week. The Defyance 1 was possibly the best neutral shoe I have ever run in. I put well over 400 mile on them. The Defyance 2 is heavier, less flexible, the transition stinks and it makes running a chore. This shoe is garbage! Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: VERY disappointed with this shoe. Loved the Defyance. Got 420 miles in them. But the Defyance 2 is bulky with a huge toe box and the cushioning leaves a lot to be desired. Why is it that when a shoe company gets something right, they screw it up with a newer version? I've gone to the Nike Vomero 4. 6'1", 195, run 30-35 miles per week. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Coming from the Adrenaline GTS 7, these are lighter and more flexible. Quicker toe off and softer through the mid foot. Softer ride overall. We'll see how they do. Like the midfoot wrap. A little narrower than the 7's but still wear the same size. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: The Defyance 2 is my favorite neutral shoe right now primarily because of its excellent fit. The shoe is wide in the toebox and tapers nicely through the mid-foot. The heel is nice and snug. The cushioning is good but not the best I've run in. It works great with my orthotics. I just wish Brooks offered their premium neutral shoe (Glycerin) in widths. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: I just switched to these shoes from Asics, the asics started to feel to stiff and unforgiving. I run about 30-40 miles a week, and train for 1/2 iron distance triathlons and Marathons. I have ran in 4 marathons in 2 years and was very hesitant about changing shoes, as the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it. But I went with these and it took about 30 miles to break them in, but I love these shoes! The fit in the upper is awesome and the cushioning is superb. A bit heavy for a race day shoe but I was in need of a comfortable long distance trainer. These fit the bill I am a convert! Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Excellent took them out of box and started to run in them. Never had a pair of shoes with no break in period. I think they are swell. Good jop Brooks. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Blisters blisters and more blisters with this shoe. I have been running for a while and this is the first shoe to give me a repeated problem. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Brooks have outlasted other brands I have tried. I like the flexibility and the feel of the Defyance 2, break in time was very quick. I came over to Defyance 2 from Axiom after they were discontinued and have not missed a beat. This is a great shoe! Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Ran in Defyance 1 (4 pairs), these fit slightly different but I think even better than #1. Great job, bought additional 4 pairs to stock up Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Had run in Asics for a couple years; these seem to have better structure and fit, and are cushioned well. I don't run as far or as fast as I used to, so I don't have a forefoot strike as before, but never had a better shoe for a supinator who needs comfort only, no support. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: Sweet fit. The toe box is roomy but they narrowed up the forefoot slightly from the original - which also makes it look a lot better. I loved the first model but felt like I was swimming in it after the upper stretched out. The ride seems slightly firmer so it has a faster feel. If it holds up, I may stock-pile this one. Comments about Mens Brooks Defyance 2 Running Shoe: I just switched from NB768. The cushion is superior and the stability is fantastic.
