Amazing shoe

This shoe is amazing. I am a shoe geek and have tried most new shoes on the market. This shoe encapsulates everything I have been looking for. It is great for most anything, but especially crossfit. It is built to within stand the rigors of rope climbing, running, weight-training and most anything else. There is only one con to this shoe that I have found so far, and that is traction on wet tile or similar slick surfaces. It has great traction on anything else, but might as well be an ice skate on slick wet tile. I have already put around 50+ miles on roads, trails, and hills in these shoes. They are an awesome lightweight, flexible shoe, yet will hold up to rocks. This shoe offers decent to good impact resistance, but still keeps it close to the road and is perfect for the inbetween barefoot and running shoe. I'm normally a Merrell barefoot runner as well as mix master trail runner and these are the perfect inbetween shoe. I've tried the whole brooks pure collection, nike free, and altra shoe(altra is awesome but not enough road feel) and they don't come close to these in a crossfit and running shoe. I've also used the Reebok Crossfit shoe, but I found them much too rigid and heavy. Inov-8 f-lite 195 is the perfect blend. This company will be blowing up in the years to come with such well made shoes.

Subtle blend of minimal and tough

Looks too narrow; but it fits well. I like a snug shoe, but not tight; and this fits that description well. I use it for trail as much as road. The rubber is sticky enough to work for both and there aren't a lot of little slots for rocks to get stuck in. It is a very thin sole - especially in the front. It's not a Vibram Five Finger, but it's not far off the heavier of those. I'm not sure how thick it is; but I can feel rocks and gravel, so... pretty thin. It's supposed to be a 3mm drop; it feels like 2mm to me - more than flat, less than my MT110s. I wear socks (Injinji). I suspect the upper would not be super comfortable for barefoot. I've got 160 miles on them so far and they still look like new (except for all the trail dust). Rubber still looks good and uppers are perfect. It's become my "other" shoe for both trail and road: MT110 is my primary trail for runs and races; and Saucony A5 is primary road (and only road racer).

New to Inov8

4

I was introduced to Inov8 during a crossfit session during my 3rd tourn in Afghanistan. They held up pretty well compared to other minimalist shoes worn in theater. Based on this fact I decided that my first minimalist shoe will be Inov8. I have worn this running shoe during outdoor runs, walking around casually. They are light and have great control. Now I'm in Japan, they make a great indoor workout shoe as well since you cannot wear outdoor shoes in the gyms here.

Just don't Know

I was using the inov-8 Bare-X Lite? 135 prior to getting these shoes in the mail. The day I got them I put them on and went for a casual run/jog at a 10:00 pace or 6MPH on the treadmill.... at 2 miles, my right foot started to hurt. I sprained the middle of my foot, (never before, with a history of running a min. of 3.1 mi 6 times a week) and now I am on crutches for 3 weeks and on a walking boot... I will give the shoes another try after physical therapy and post updates, but for now, I am sure they played a role to my injury.

Wife LOVES them for work!!

5

My wife bought a pair last year and has worn them constantly, working as an aide/care giver at a dementia home for the elderly. She is on her feet 8-12 hours/day and says these are the BEST shoes she's ever worn. She's had New Balance, Reebok and tried the "rocker" shoes.. She never spends money on herself, but when I asked if I should order two pair this time, she said yes.... So I KNOW she loves them! I know that work wasn't the intended target, but for her, she'll never switch..

Husband in good graces....

Excellent shoe

I've used these in my running shoe rotation for about 6 months. Put on about 150 miles on them. Ran a marathon in them. They are well built. They are light weight. They fit my foot very well - no blisters. Highly recommended.
