I run on a highschool corss country team where we averaged 7-8 miles a day and found them to last exceptionally long. I recently switched to an Asics shoe and I am completely unhappy because the comfort does not compare to my Mizunos. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: These shoes fit wonderfully when on and when I walked. (I did get professionally fitted) But, when I ran I started hurting about 1.5 miles into my run in places I hadn't hurt before. I returned them after my 4th run in them. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: The tongue on these shoes is too short. At first I thought I had a defective pair and sent them back, but the replacement is the same: can't lace through the top hole in "heel lock" style without the tongue moving all around and making the laces rub your foot on top. Also, despite my first impression, the shoe feels a bit stiff, and my foot feels as if it slaps down onto the pavement. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: They felt great the first 2 months and quickly petered out. This is my 8th pair of riders and I HATE these ones, my feet, legs, and hips hurt more in these. It's like the quality and cushion disappeared. It was so hard for me to find a shoe that I loved and now I have no more faith in the riders. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Like others, I bought these after years of comfortable, injury-free marathoning in previous versions. This shoe is extremely uncomfortable and I began to experience leg and arch pain when I wore it - so much so I switched to ASICS. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Cushioning was good but this is the only pair of running shoes I've ever returned. I ran in them three times- now I have severe hip pain and moderate knee pain. Switched to an old pair of Asics and was fine so I know it was the shoes. First pair of shoes to cause me pain. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Waveriders are great because they come in wide! I LOVED my wave rider 10's... I bought these 11's 3 weeks out from my last marathon and had to run in the old 10's for the marathon. I am still running in these but I had to cut a little hole so the toe box isn't so tight when I put my orthodics in there. Bring back the 10's!!!!! Pretty please! Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Well, they're certainly not my Rider 7's, which I bought in bulk (4 pairs) from a clearance bin at Dick's Sporting Goods a lifetime ago and subsequently wore out. I agree that the 11's do feel rather stiff around the midfoot and lacking in cushion at the forefoot. I got them b/c, despite the less than 7's arch support, there's still nothing like Mizuno when it comes to having a shoe mold to the foot. I had the Elixir 3 on the left and the Wave 11 on the right - the Wave felt like rubber glued to the sole of my foot. I can deal with a lack of cushioning - I'm hoping a few 6-10 milers will get me okay with the more structured feel. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I bought these after my Wave Rider 10s, which I loved. These shoes are great too! I trained for and ran my first marathon in them with no problems... ok, I did lose a tonail but I blame my socks! Honestly, I will stick with the Wave Riders for good! Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I have never ran at all before getting these shoes and I have ran and trained for 2 5K's in these shoes. They are awesome, I have tried to run or even walk in other shoes and I have two different size feet and one foot always cramps up. Has never happened in these! Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: looked at the reviews to see if it was just me that found the new 11 less than expected. I have been running in wave riders for years (at least 4 years) and the new ones leave me in pain. i can't really diagnose the problem other to say that my arches ache after just 1/2 mile. I almost ordered my usual 2 or 3 pair at a time - but am glad i didn't. But what now? Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I have loved the riders for years, but after my co-workers pointed out that I always whined after using the 11s, I figured I would try something new. Since I am half-runner, and half-nerd, I added a cushy insole with an arch, and now these shoes do the trick. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I previously owned a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 10s. They were a great shoe: The updated version is not. They are sized too small. Even though I bought a size larger than I needed, they felt snug. Overall, the feel of the shoe is terrible. I instantly felt discomfort in my knees, pain on the the sides of my feet and hot spots on my arches and toes. After wearing them, my feet felt numb. This is not the quality of shoe I expect from Mizuno! Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Everyone's feet are different, but this was the right shoe for mine! Great cushioning and support, true to size fit. Trained for and ran a 1/2 marathon with them and felt I should have ran the full. No blisters or knee pain with these. I'm ready for my next pair! Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Seams inside the left shoe rubbed my arch. Actually felt OK while running, but don't want to take the risk of running any further than 5 miles. They're going back. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: The fit has changed so much that I can't wear them anymore. I've worn the Wave Rider series for 6 loyal years now, but I think we're breaking up. :( When I took my new 11s out for a couple runs, ouch. The arches are waaaay too high and the midfoot is waaaay too narrow. Even after relacing, my entire midfoot felt bruised. It's just not the fit for me anymoe. Boo. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Way too much cushioning and very, very rigid. I tried to run in them a couple of times but could not flex my foot in them and ended up changing back into a lighter shoe. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I loved my 10's but can't do the 11's. They don't seem as cushioned and my hips, knees, and ankles would all ache for several days after my long runs. I am disappointed they changed the shoe. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I loved the Wave Rider 10 but I've had nothing but trouble with these. I'm currently unable to run due to an arch injury since running in these shoes. The tongues on the shoes also will not stay in place. I should have returned them. Comments about Women's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: These shoes are comfortable and have that great, snug Mizuno fit. I ordered my true size and they fit perfectly.
