Cons Best Uses
Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I used it for cross country. Mud pits, rivers, hiking, running, track pretty much everything! There defo good for cross country!
Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I'm a lighter runner (145 lbs), who runs long distances and does some speed work, and has high arches. I liked the older wave riders and had a great experience with Wave Rider 9, but the 11's hurt my feet after running more than 3-4 miles. The 11's were also quite painful in my knees and hip to train in once my mileage exceeded 25-30 miles per week. I hope the 12's are better but after my experience with the 11, I am in no hurry to try them out again. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Great shoe. Used to wear Nike support shoes until I got pain in my ankle. These shoes give me zero pain. This is my first Mizuno shoe, and I plan on sticking with the brand. Run about 10 miles/week. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: These looked good and felt good in the store. I got them on the road, found they hurt my feet and the heal strike was as hard as a brick. And they brought back my Plantar!! I'm back to New Balance. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: 6 ft 165lb 60 yr old 25 mile/wk runner with wide forefoot. I've run in the wave rider 9, 10 and 11. The 9 switched me from Sauconys. It was the best fit and comfort for me, great endurance in the sole and cushioning. The 10 was a bit narrow for my foot and the 11 returned to a better toe box and fit, but I like the nine best. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I have had the WR 9, 10, & 11. The 9 was by far the best. I personally like the 11's better than the 10's. I am a heavier runner, 6'2" 240 with wide feet and a perfect 1/2 size. I also prefer to run on pavement (I know great on the knees) and these have held up real well. These shoes fit great. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Everything is perfect except that they are too soft in the heel which ruins it all. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I like the Wave Rider 11s. They provide reasonable cushioning but are responsive enough for faster running. I am a 175 lb neutral runner with higher than average arches. I like the Wave Riders for all my runs 10K and less and for speed work. They are lightweight also. They fit great but might be a little on the narrow side. I think if I sized up, I might not like the larger toe box, so I am better off with the size I have. I have about 150 miles on the Wave Riders and after I am done with them, I am curious to try the Wave Precisions. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: On my 2nd pair-used to wear Nike. I don't have lower back pain with Waves, have wide feet for female,& I'm a heavier runner (muscle weight). I run 37 miles avg per week. love them!!!! Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Road Runner Sports/Mizuno. Please strike a deal that will allow RRS to make the WR9 a permanent fixture as a Classic choice. Because it was truly a classic. All of the Narrow footed runners will flock back to Mizuno and proudly wear the bird once again. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Sorry, but I like em'. I've run in the 7's,10's and now the 11's. If you have narrow feet, check out some fashionable Nike's. The WR 11's don't feel alot wider to me than the 7's did, (although I was able to go down a half size to accomodate my wide feet), instead of buying a full size bigger, like I was. Forefoot is the same, firm, but cushioned. Still one of the best heel/toe transitions around. Durable grippy rubber, too. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Much worse than the wave rider 10. The wave in the heel is too soft on the outside, I'm 5'8", 137 so the force of my foot strike shouldn't be causing premature breakdown of the heel. Mizuno should go back to the wr 9. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Loved the Rider 8s and wanted to keep the Mizuno love going but these shoes are horrible. There is NO cushioning compared to earlier WR models. My first run using them, I got shin-splinty pain that has remained with me no matter how I stretch. I loved Mizuno because they make wide shoes (6'3", 220 lbs, 25-30 miles/week). Now, I will find another manufacturer because Mizuno seems to follow the trend of cutting corners to maximize profits. Sad. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I'm sorry, on my prior post i meant to say downsize a half size, not a full size Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: What the heck happened? The WR11 update is horrable. With no change to how I have been running, I developed shin splints in the first few days and PF to go along with it, in both feet none the less. I don't know what all changed with this new model, But this shoe has me looking for another brand after all these years of running in WRs. Mizuno, you have destroyed this series of shoe. Now you have one less faithful customer. Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Loved my two pairs of WR7's. Hated my WR10's. Tried on WR11's - felt just like 400 mile old WR10's. Bought adidas Supernova 7's. Satisfied, but not as happy as would be with a new pair of WR7-9's. Still wearing 700 mile old WR7's to the gym, reminiscing about better days. *sadface* Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: I was bummed when mizuno changed the upper on the rider 10 and 11. It's purpose with this move is to sell more shoes to the masses with wider feet. I have an average width foot and in these shoes i'm all over the toe box no matter how i tie the shoes. Out of desperation( i did try other brands with no success) i downsized a full size and wore a real thin sock, made sure the toe nails were cut nice and short and went for a run. I'm not recommending this as a solution but it did wind up working for me. I got the glove like fit and my forefoot wasn't all over the place. I've done a couple of 5 milers and a ten miler and still no black toes. so if you are looking for the fit of the rider 7, 8 or 9 which got lost in the recent up dates you could try downsizing in this. manner. It's just another option Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: It's always hit or miss with the Rider. This one's a royal dud. To mushy, no heel pop in the transition. Been running in Mizunos since 2000. Best shoe yet is the Creation 2000--it's Precision with more EVA and a much stiffer full-foot wave plate--the shoe flies. The Rider 11 has larger wave holes, a softer and shorter wave plate--all this adds up to mush. Also, my foot is widish, and the Rider 11 seems to be too wide, so that simply has too much forefoot to run through. How about a revival of the Creation 2000--Please!! Comments about Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Rider 11 - Road Runner Sports: Contrary to other reviewers? opinions, I felt that the WR11 was a bit soft for my taste. 5"9, 140-- Had to switch to the Precision.
