Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running Shoe:

I love these shoes. I have tried several different brands and these are the first pair that felt the best right out of the box. I am training for the NYC marathon and these shoes have been better than the Nike's I wore in my first marathon. My feet always feel great after my long runs. I did have to switch to a new pair after about 340 miles instead of my normal 400 though. Regardless, I still think they are the best running shoes I have ever owned. I have a normal arch, custom orthotics, and am fairly small at 5'3" and 110lbs.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running Shoe:

Used to love this shoe and have worn them for many years. WR12 changed so much that I can no longer wear them. My arch is too high for these shoes and they do not have a wide toebox, no matter what the specifications say. They need to go back to offering a wide/D width. These are a big step back and not an improvement!

These shoes rock!!! I had been using the Wave Creation 10 and they were killing my runs. They were heavy and the fit was seriously wierd compared to the 7,8,9s. Therefore, switching to this was the right choice. I'm very happy with these shoes and very happy that they finally make a narrow fit!!!!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running Shoe:

These shoes are great! I tried the mizuno wave rider 12 because I wear out my asics ds trainers so quickly. I wanted something that will last a little longer and hold up during higher mileage. These shoes are light, soft and flexible. I ran a long run in them right out of the box with no problems. I have orthodics and they fit fine. After several bad shoes and a lot of wasted money I finally found a great shoe!

Been wearing Mizunos for 10+ years, too and this 12s are a disappointment because like some of you wrote, my calves and heels hurt after running due to what I think is a lack of support. These are the first Riders I've had where these problems have come up.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running Shoe:

I have been a huge fan of the Wave Rider and find the Wave Rider 12 to be very disappointing. The shoes are too narrow and the fact that the Wide size has been discontinued is very unfortunate. I have 1 pair left of the Wave Rider 11 and don't know what I will try next. A friend of mine also had to relegate her Wave Rider 12s to just short runs because of support issues and blisters. Please bring back the old design and the Wide width!!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running Shoe:

My first pair of 12's I bought in January '09 seemed to work (The WR 11's still a lot better!) but the cushioning wore out so fast :( I bought another pair of WR12's in April and the same thing happened--cushioning/support gone before reaching the 300 mile mark.
So I finally get a 3rd pair of these shoes a few weeks ago...and they are horrible! Not even 50 miles on them and I've had ankle, arch, knee and shin pain. I really wanted to stick with Mizuno, but found an ASICS pair that had so much more cushioning. I hope they make some big changes for the WR 13.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Rider 12 Running Shoe:

I love these shoes! I am 5'4" and 112 lb. w/ narrow flexible feet. I usually run in stability shoes, but gait analysis confirmed that I have a fairly neutral running gait. The 2A width of the Waverider 12 is a custom fit for my feet. These shoes have just the right amount of support for me. They fit snugly and securely. The arch support feels fantastic - the sole of the shoe conforms perfectly to the shape of the sole of my feet. They are very light and flexible with a very good running "feel". They are cushioned yet supportive enough (for me at least) for groomed trail running. I am in the process of increasing my mileage. Currently my average runs are 4 - 5 miles. My pace is significantly faster in these shoes than in my other favorite shoe - the Asics Kayano 13 in the 2A width. I hope Mizuno will continue to offer the Waverider in the 2A width. Hopefully the wide width will also be returned for those who need it - correct width does make a difference!

I didn't like the update on this shoe. Was too wide for my foot - and the size 7.5 that fit so great in the Wave Rider 11, now hits my toe at the front and is a bit too small. Needeless to say, they were sent back immediately after trying them on.

wow, i thought i was the only one who wondered about the12's! i have been wearing riders for years now, ran marathons in them without a single blister, then 12s come along, my 2nd last marathon I had a blood blister the size of a black cherry!!! omg it hurt so bad. no matter what i do if i go over 12 miles it comes back. this past marathon i got the same blister. i think the shoe is too narrow now. I am afraid to switch shoe brands, it has been years since i wore asics nimbus but am seriously considering it... unless i can find some rider 11's..

I have a neutral gait, medium arch, and medium-width foot. The Wave Rider 11 felt like it fit my foot better. The best way to describe it is that the contours of the shoe underneath my foot were curved where they were supposed to be curved on the Wave Rider 11. On the 12, feels like the bends are in all the wrong places, and I feel pressure points on the bottoms of my feet. These were a must-try-on for me. Trying the 11 beside the 12 - no contest, I stuck with the 11's. :/

I, too, have a wide forefoot and can't be wear the women's B-width shoe. As the wide-width was discontinued, I now run in the men's. Of course, if you have small feet, that won't work for you!

They are really comfortable, but I bought them after only trying them on, not trying them out, since i loved my 11's. After 4 days, my knees were throbbing, and I haven't been able to run in a week. Sad...

To Marie, It comes in narrow widths, not wide widths which I believe what the complaints were. They had been reviewed before release because people (like me), are only looking for wide widths. When a shoe no longer is available in a wide it's a problem.

I love this new Wave Rider. With the last Wave Rider the outside of my foot would fall asleep on long runs now with the new extra cushioning along the outside the foot my feet feel great. I love the changes.

The rider 12 does come in widths and 4 of these posts were before the shoe was even released. doesn't make alot of sense

This would have been a great shoe, if it came wider in the forefoot. Where as many of the shoe manufacturers are starting to realize that a womans foot actually has some shape, Mizuno forgot. If only they had added back that "2 mm" to the forefoot. Oh well, I'm sure the Wave Rider13 will be out in a year.

I bought this shoe before they had wide widths and it did not work for me, even if it is small difference. The wide width fit and was perfect. I am so sad, I've been wearing this shoe for years.

I too was concerned about the shoe not being available in wide widths but Mizuno says it's only a 2ml difference. It's worth trying on. The shoe's too good to pass up without a try.

I, on the other hand, think Mizuno rocks for making a shoe in narrow widths!

I can't believe Mizuno makes 1 shoe in a wide width, and have discontinued it. It really limits my choices.
