Comments about Mens New Balance 882 Running Shoe:

I've run with these shoes and their predecessors for the last 3-4 years. The large tox box (SL-2) is something you can't find everywhere and the cushioning is good. I've been satisfied. Good time to buy (12/08) as the factory told me they are discontinuing them (changing to a new model) in February, so the price is right.

Comments about Mens New Balance 882 Running Shoe:

Just picked this shoe up because I liked the 1011 with the same SL2 last. The 882 is lighter but surprisingly stable for a "neutral" shoe - probably due to the straight last. Adequately light in weight and great feel for my feet. Perfect shoe for me and the roomy EE toe box is fantastic.

First-rate shoe. Feels light, always comfortable, roomy in the toe. Just the right amount of cushioning. I have tried lots of shoes and always come back to this series, and the 882 is the best one yet.

Comments about Mens New Balance 882 Running Shoe:

I would rate this shoe so low because I need a very cushioned shoe and this one is not that cushioned. I weight 192 pounds and am trying to get back into shape and currently running 20 miles/week as opposed to the 30-35 I used to run. I have run since 1974. The shoe is roomy, I got EE, and pehaps an E is wide enough. My first run was 4 miles on a trail with packed stone dust, not hard at all, I would not want to do 10 miles on pavement with these shoes.

Comments about Mens New Balance 882 Running Shoe:

Never could break this shoe in. It was either too loose - socks ball up or too tight - toes go numb. When not the above - hot spots at the ball of my feet. Not a good fit for me - I've run in NB for over 20 years. First shoe I couldn't run in.

Comments about Mens New Balance 882 Running Shoe:

I've run in NB for 30 yrs and this is the finest shoe I've ever worn. If you're neutral, hi arch, wide in toe, narrow in heel, and under 160 lbs, you need to give this shoe a try. No hot spots, no knee or foot pain. This shoe even lets me run on pavement again! It's cushioned, yet responsive. This shoe reminds me that I went to NB not only for wide shoes, but also for performance.

This is definitely the best NB shoe I have ever owned. The first week I ran four times in them, the longest run was 15 miles. No chafing, blisters, or tenderness in toenails. I am 5 ft 10, 150 lb, have normal arch, wide forefoot.
