Great shoe. Got a pair at the race expo last year for the Army 10-miler and ran in them the next day. Initially scared to race in new shoes, but they were fantastic, no problems. Cushioning was gone a few months later and is the only reason these shoes are a 5. Did buy two more pair for training and to run again this year.

Comments about Mens New Balance Running Shoes | New Balance 1062 - Road Runner Sports:

I've been running for 5 years, and must say these are the worst shoes I've encountered so far, worse even than some $15 pairs I used in the beginning.
Even after I've given them time to wear in, I still get pain on the balls of my feet, and pain on the inside of my shins. Albeit, I may have bought a pair of shoes incompatible with my gait, so a 3 overall.

I am a new runner, trying to find the right fit. I tried Saucony Paramount, and a pair of Reebok, and a pair of Nikes, but these blow away the competition. I have put on over 80 miles already, and these babies are still feeling great. I am starting police training in a couple weeks and will pick up another pair of these for sure.

Comments about Mens New Balance Running Shoes | New Balance 1062 - Road Runner Sports:

Excellent shoe for high mileage. (85Kg and 20km/day). I only use elastic laces which has tripled the already high comfort of the shoes. Also found that buying two at once and alternating the shoes (if you run everyday) added hugely to the lifespan and they seem to recover from each run. The 1060s were better but when has any shoe manufacturer stayed with one model for long?

These shoes have excellent cushioning, great fit, nice styling and great durability. Use these for my high mileage days and 826 for speed days. Yes they may feel heavy but what premium cushion is not? You want light buy a performance trainer, you want cushioning you buy a cushion trainer. Can't wait for the 1063!

Great shoe for 190 pounder+. Excellent fit for my wide foot. Dries quickly after rinsing sweat away after runs. Only gripe is I've had the "N" strip pull out on two pair and had to return for exchange. Suggest NB rethink the N strap. A good buy for someone wanting a comfortable ride.

6'5" 210 lbs male with mid-high arches. Like this shoe way better than the saucony pro-grid i had before (not enough coushioning). not sure if it's better than the Brooks Glycerin though. I like the wide aspect of the shoe that allows for my size 14 feet to fit into well.

I'm mixed on this shoe, I'm a 9 1/2 4E and 215 lbs. The cushioning is great, my feet feel very stable, knees and ankles feel great after a run. The width is perfect except for the problem, excessive room in the toe box up and down. I tried to like them because of the difficulty of finding a good nuetral plus extra wide shoe, but this is not it.

I've been running since 1971 and never enjoyed the kind of comfort afforded by my new 1062's. I have chronic runner's knee and achilles tendon issues which I doubt would exist if I had been using the 1062 all along. MAKE SURE TO SIZE UP because the padding is substantial. Only negative is that they're a bit on the heavy side.

37 years old 168lb/77kg, 6.0ft/1.83m, feet uk 11/EU 46 medium to flat arch - go 1 size up when buying. I've had 2 pairs of 1061s and these are more durable. I find that all of them take about 60 miles to break-in. The lace eyelet at the ankle is very stiff and can cause pain at the base of the fibia (inner ankle knuckle). It does disappear though. They do feel more clunky than the 1061s but I went from chronic injury last year (knee) to being able to clock 160miles/month in these so I wouldn't complain too much - my marathon time went from 3:59 to 3:35 as a result. I use super feet green soles with these - a bit squeaky but so what!

This shoe is just made too big. The heal and toe areas are just way too loose. I had an old pair of New Balance 1040s that I hated to part with. I did everything to try to find the equivalent pair. It seems like they have taken manufacturing short cuts so that the shoe does not conform as well to their standard shoe last. Another flaw in the design is that my toe nails seem to catch the interface between the mesh and the hard fabric at the toe. A fuller solid toe are would be better. If I pay careful attention to lacing (and trimming my toe nails) I can most eliminate the problem. I would probably give it 3 stars, but maybe the shoe works better for others. New Balance is the brand that I have always selected, but next time I will probably look to another brand.

Excellent Cushion Shoe. My weight 200 libs with high arches. Heavier and more stable than 1060/1061. Have now only 100 Km on it, but it seems that they are more durable than earlier. The outsole has more gummi, so have a better grip. Best Use for the long slow distance. Good Feeling from the first to last kilometer. Have ordered in with 2E, but i think the next order it will be B or D ;), means they have a wide forefoot. Really a premium cushion shoe. Other shoes i use: Saucony Trigon(for shorter, faster running) and Reebok Ultra ( for the nice weather:) )
