This shoe has better forefoot cushion than it's predecessors, but it gives me blisters inside both heels. It must have a narrower heel cup. I like it, but probably would go up one width if I were to order it again.

Right away, I can run in 10 miles in these with no breaking in time. I've had throbbing pain in my calves at night for months, but with these, it has gone away. My only gripe is that the inside heels wear out quicker than other shoes I've worn. Other than that, I get about 450 miles on each pair!

My feet feel great in these shoes, so great I am going to buy a 2nd pair and I just bought these 3 weeks ago. They only thing I don't like about them is they are noisy, a squishy sound coming from the intersole. It is like I just got out of running in water. You can hear me walking from a mile away but I will put up with it since I just love the comfort of the shoe.

I have a metatarsalgia with my right foot and the balls of my feet get inflamed with too much repetetive pounding but with the help of these shoes my foot and knee pain have diminished and I can workout/walk/run even longer!!!! I am even thinking about doing the Avon Walk!

I only run 10 to 15 miles a week but it is all on pavement and I love these shoes. I have very narrow feet and these fit great and give me great cushioning and stability. They have held up very well and I am buying a second pair before they disappear from the market!

I bought this after my daughter wore out her other pair this fall in cross county. It is one of 3 gifts she requested for Christmas. She liked them so much she wanted another pair just like the first!

I have worn New Balance running shoes for the last 15 years....these are the abolute WORST shoes EVER! I so wish I could have returned them. They gave me a huge blister on my right arch. I kept trying to wear them....I still hate them & can't wait to get another pair. Please, oh, Please....bring back the 1223's. They were the very best, and it looks like every other woman runner out there agrees with me. New Balance should do a recall for all their devoted running friends & replace these with a new pair!!

Not as comfortable as the 1223, I do not like the toe box and the arch is very uncomfortable. Fit is larger than any of the other New Balance that I have purchased. Would not buy another pair. Where are the 1223's

This shoe was recommended to me for my long distance runs, since I tend to get blisters on my big toes. I went for a 10 mile run and wasn't able to finish it due to the blisters I ended up with on my arches, but they didn't give me any blisters on my toes. I do not recommend this shoe at all. Very disappointed.

This shoe is not as good as its predecessor, the 1223. The 1223 fit like a glove, and I went without any foot pain until the shoe broke down. I wore my 1224s over the weekend and worked outside, and my feet were screaming. Where can I buy a pair of 1223s?

I have to disagree. I think these shoes are the most comfortable model yet. I have run over 600 km since January 1/09 in my first pair with no pain in my feet or legs. These are some amazing shoes and I HIGHLY recommend them.

The the cushioning is exceptional. However, that sadly is offset by an uncomfortable upper and inadequate arch support. The plastic arch lock and welded overlays are extremely irritating, especially for anyone with bunions and others who need a lot of toebox depth. This shoe is recommended for bunions, yet even in a D width the arch lock and overlays seriously impinge and irritate. The arch support is seriously lacking. The shoe also runs very long. Bottom line: I had high hopes for this shoe, and it sadly just isn't working out for me...

I loved the 1223!! Walked the 3 day, alternating the 1223 and 1224. The 1223 was great ... day two with the 1224 got blisters on my inner heel ... never happened with the 1223. Hope the new version is back to the 1223!!!

loved the 1223. could not wear these. much too stiff in the arch. now i'm wearing brooks trance8. they feel much more like the old 1223

I agree with Jennifer. These are the worst shoes! You feel like a platypus running in them. If I still had the box, they would be going back, too!

These shoes felt like I was running in wooden clogs. Plus, I got a nice big blister on my inner heel. Tried them for three runs and sent them back.
