I'm 6'2" and weigh between 195-200 lbs. I've been a casual runner off an on all my life. I've run 5K's, 10K's, and half marathons many times but never took the time to research and find the right shoes for my endeavors...and boy did I pay for it afterwards.

However, I started training for a marathon in January and figured it was time to find the right shoes.

I did a ton of research and finally decided to take a chance on the 1080. All I can say is WOW.

The 1080's are the most comfortable and supportive shoe I've ever run in. I don't end up with the sore joints and muscles that I use to with my other shoes.

As an added bonus they look pretty slick and are reasonably priced.

I will be purchasing a second pair of shoes in order to rotate daily and won't hesitate to buy the 1080 as that second pair.

Was surprised that I had to go up from a normal wide to an extra wide in these. The length, however, fit true to size.

I'm 6' 3" 260 lbs. I've run about 30 miles in these shoes so far. They are very cushiony on impact. I don't have any knee pain. I have tried several other shoes to run in and haven't found anything better then NB.

I am a heavy runner (6'4 220) and these shoes have been great for long runs and runs on the treadmill. I am running another 1/2 marathon averaging about 26 miles a week and have had no problem at all. In fact, my feet and knees all feel great. Very nice shoe from New Balance.

I got these because of they come in extra wide, and are good for supinators like me. Buy a half size larger. My only complaint is that material rubs a bit on the outside of my big toe, where two kinds of material are sewed together. I prefer the Nike Zoom Vomero +5 or the Asics Gel Nimbus 12, but unfortunately RRS doesn't carry the Gel Nimbus 12 in the 4E size, even though Asics makes it.

Use them on the treadmill 6 days a week and they feel great. Very light and supportive shoe.

Sorry NB lovers, these didn't work for me because they caused shin splints. I bought them as a rotational pair with my Nike Vomero 6, and because they were on sale. I guess I should have stuck with what works. Everyone is different, so now I know that NIKE is better for me, until they like every other shoe company decide to change their design for no reason.

The New Balance 1080's are an excellent neutral running shoe. They feel really nice when you put them on and that doesn't change when you run.

I ran in the NB 1063's previously, and while the 1080 doesn't look much like the 1063, if you liked that one you'll probably like the 1080.

About the only negative I have is that the Red Color on the tongue is not indelible. The tops of most all my socks have become pink due to this bleeding red color - especially when the shoes get wet. (It is summertime after all) This drives me crazy but I'm trying to ignore it.

These shoes were perfect! I bought them as a gift to replace my boyfriends old Nikes, which started falling apart shortly after he got them. The moment he put these on the first thing he said was "SO MUCH BETTER". It's been several weeks and he (and I quote) "Love(s) em, well made and supportive. Look nice too." [...] 90 day guarantee. These are Great shoes. I absolutely recommend them!

Lighter and more comfortable than the 1064. Great update. Best shoe for a big guy that I have come across.

I run 5 to 6 days a week. I run 3-6 miles on most runs with some longer runs. I am about 200 pounds and these shoes offer great cushioning for larger runners. It is a neutral shoe and feels very good on runs. I also run mostly on asphalt.

Use these shoes to train for a marathon. These are the most comfortable shoes I have run in. I have run several 5+ mile runs and a 17 and 20 mile run and they feel great. Cannot really comment on durability yet as I have not used them long enough. I had previosly been running in NB 1063 and 1064. The 1080s seem more comfortable and have a bit more room in the toes. So far great shoe.

With the change from 1064 the style changed, I have worn New Balance for over 10 years and with this model change I went from a 9 1/2 4E to a 10 4E because of the toe box design. I Love the fir know that I have the right size. Plan on needing a 1/2 size up with wide feet.

Great shoe a knotch below in comfort from the Asics Gel 17 Kayano. Very good for both work and sport.

Bought two pair for daily rotation. Have about 60 miles on each pair. GREAT shoes overall. Superb cushioning. I'm a high-arch supinator and these shoes have me running in comfort and style. If anything like their predecessors, the 1063's and 1064's, I expect a good level of durability, as well.

Shoe felt good. Nice cushioning, just too much of a neutral shoe for me. I usually run in stability shoes, but someone told me to try these. These are not for me, but would be great for someone that does need a neutral shoe
