I liked the fit and feel of the original Vomero. Nike opened the toe box up a little more on this version. Still the best cushioned Neutral running shoe available.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

Best shoe I have ever ran in!! Am 6'2" and 230 lbs. If the forefoot applies too much pressure take the insole out and put a RRS cushrunner in the shoe. My knees do not hurt, feet do not hurt. Ran San Diego Marathon in them and they did great!. I have tried many good shoes, Brooks Radius, Brooks Glycern, Nimbus 8 & 9, Mizuno wave rider and creation over the past 5 years. These are hands down the best!! I have bought 3 new pair to get me through the next couple marathons I run. With these shoes I have no foot, arch, shin, knee pain. My hamstrings seem to bother me less also.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

Very cushioned. Probably the most cushioned shoe I've ever had. Most runs of 8 or under I use performance neutral shoes. I'm 6'1 165, 25-40 miles a week and need the extra cushion for runs over 10mi. These are very good for the long runs, but I have noticed more knee and leg soreness after recent long runs of 13 or 14. That may be from running on some trails, especially downhill, which these are not made for. If you stick to asphalt or flat gravel surfaces these should be fine. I'm not sure you need a 1/2 size up. I found the 10.5 to be roomier than the other 10.5 Nikes I have. I would probably go with a 10 next time and will certainly try the next generation of these. It's nice to see Nike making good running shoes again. The lasts Nike uses fit my foot better than any other shoe I've tried (slightly narrow, high arch).
I found the reviews that listed the size of the runner and the type of mileage the most helpful. It's more helpful than saying this shoe sucks or this shoe rocks.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

It felt funny at first, almost too bouncy, but I've grown to really love this shoe. The cushioning is just phenomenal, like nothing I've ever run in before. At 150 pounds, I feel barely heavy enough to compress the forefoot cushioning, but it works, and it's fun. Lacing allows precision fit. Holding up to mileage well. Nice job Nike.

This is a fantastic shoe for those needing cushion and no motion control. I am 6'4" and 220 pounds and this is the first shoe I have worn that allows me to run pain free. A few weeks ago, I completed my first half-marathon. Before these shoes, I almost gave up running because of patellar tendon pain.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

I've been running for 17 years, have done a couple marathons, tons of 5k's, etc., and this is the most comfortable and cushioned shoe I've ever worn. The fit is perfect for me - true to size, slightly narrow to medium in heel, and a slightly wider toe box, which is perfect for my foot. I'm 6'2", 190 lbs., and am a personal trainer as well, so I am on my feet and active all day long. I've suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past, and recently my feet have started bothering me again, so because of these great RR reviews I decided to try this shoe. I couldn't be happier, and my feet literally have felt almost 100% better after only a few days of working and running in them. They are a bit pricy, but worth it. I will buy a second pair soon, and I hope Nike doesn't mess up the new model, as I don't see wanting to work or run in anything else. I also love using the Nike+ iPod sensor with it. It keeps me motivated, and gives me great information and instant feedback.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

I was a huge Asics Landreth fan until they came out with the 3rd version, which is a horrible shoe and really discouraged me from running for a while as I can't just buy $100 shoes on a whim. I had been curious about this shoe during my Landreth days, but am generally not a Nike fan. This is an amazing shoe. Zoom Air has got to be the best shoe invention ever. I had recently gotten away from running, but this week picked it back up with the Vomero's and ran 5 miles on day 2! No small feat if you knew me. I am not built for running - 6ft, 195lbs with thick legs, so 5 miles when I'm out of shape is enormous. And my legs weren't sore the next day!! These Vomero 2's should keep me going for a while!

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

I don't see why so many positive reviews. Way too cushy and very slow. When I run in them, it feels like I'm running in really fine powdery sand at the beach. Not responsive at all. My calves were very sore after running for 2 days (and they never used to get sore from running) Feet started hurting also. I give it 3 stars because of the looks (I got the royal blue and silver ones) and the fit. The fit was what sold me on these shoes. If they can keep the same fit while making it more responsive/less cushy, they've got a winner

Phenomenal shoe! I used to wear stability shoes based on my arch but changed to neutral/cushioned after a stress fracture in my left foot and problems with plantar fasciitis. I ran on the Brooks Radius 6 for a while but not enough cushioning. Purchased the Nikes After reading reviews on the Vomero 2. Nike has had issues but not with this shoe. I'm 5'11", 200 lbs (205 when I bought them) and training for a marathon. I gained a weeks worth of training just by switching from the uncomfortable Brooks. These things are fantastic for bigger runners. No discomfort, blisters, regrets. Now if Nike can just not screw up the follow-on.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 2 Running Shoe:

I'm kind of a running shoe maven - I'm embarassed by the number of old pairs around my house. I am also 5'11, 225 lbs,not an ideal runner's build. As I have significantly upped my milage since October I have had an increase in joint and knee pain. After advice from an RRS specialist, I switched from my Saucony Grid Hurricane 9s to this shoe and the results have exceeded my hopes and expectations. I love this shoe, the most comfortable model I have worn in 25+ years of running. Am very disappointed that it's being discontinued, although I have been told by RRS that the new version will be equally good, if not better. We'll see. I considering getting a couple more pairs of this model if/when the price drops.

I had been a die hard Mizuno fan for almost 10 years for the wide toe box, comfort and cushioning. Nike's had always worn down very quickly and didn't maintain the cushioning. I bought these and a pair of Mizunos at the same time and now only run in these. They are so comfortable that I am able to run longer and more comfortably than I was ever able in the Mizunos.

Worn only at home before running, so jury still out, but... this is my best "house-wear test" yet amongst all other brands over nearly 2 years, and this despite Nike having fallen off my radar since the early 80's. I thought Nike were not in the game until trying their latest lines - really good shoes that actually fit really well. Will go for a 'drive' this weekend and report on findings. So far, so good.

I wear customized orthoditics with these shooes. This had to be the shoe with the best cushion. I wore the Vomero 1 and am currently in my second pair of Vomero 2. Does not seem to be a problem getting about 500 miles out of the shoe.

These are fantastic shoes. I tried the Vomero 1s which were far too narrow. I am 200 lbs and run 25 miles per week. The cushioning is perfect and excellent stability as well. Before these, I wore Asics and Saucony, but these are a cut above.

I am 5'6" 173lbs and I usly run in Muzunio Wave but lately unhappy with the model. I thought I would give Nike one more chance and it was worth it. It did take about 3 or 4 good long runs to break them in but once the break in time was done these shoes have been very good. No knee issues. If you left Nike years ago because of those cheap Nike running shoes - come back and try these, it might suprise you!

I am 6'3" / 275lbs and have run in the Asics Nimbus for two years but recently started having knee problems. Those problems have disappeared since I started running with the Vomero 2's. I have not been a big fan of Nike Running Shoe products in the past but these are excellent for the big runner with neutral pronation.

I've owned the first Vomero, now going to the Vomero+2. Reason? My first Vomero's sole is wearing at the heal. Not a bad design, just a great shoe. When picking a shoe for the day's run, I reluctantly put some more miles on my Vomero's. I pass over the others, Asics, Brooks etc. The cushioning is still there. I weigh 240 and a weight lifter that likes to run.

My first pair of Vomero 2's are approaching retirement. They have served me very well (about 450 miles)! The fit and cushioning remain intact, but the sole is getting thin. I usually retire shoes at about 500 miles, so it is almost time. I also run in Hayward/Skylons, but I plan to get a pair of replacement Vomero 2's very soon. Thanks for a great shoe Nike!

Completed the Marine Corp Marathon (10/28), these shoes were fantastic, way better than the Wave Creation. First time in Nike's for a Marathon usually in Asic's Nimbus and Mizuno Wave Creation. They are very cushy only complaint was the inside heel area on left side which at times when I struck wrong felt like it was really compressing. Will run the Memphis Marathon (12/01) with the New Balance 1061. I am 6'0 tall and 244 lbs.

Prev. rated 4 stars and exchanged for Mizuno Wave Creation 8's (MISTAKE!). The Vomero's where giving me heel blisters and tight in forefoot. Under advice from RRS I returned Mizuno's and got the Vomero's back. This time it was recommended I go up a half size for comfort and better fit. Guess what?? It worked. This is the most comfortable cushioned shoe ever. No more blisters. And as I discovered the first time--no more knee pain!!! Thank You RRS!

These shoes provide a very comfortable ride, but fit a little tight. The tongue doesn't float, so I actually cut the sides to get more space in the tongue area. I still use them for walking around because the 500 miles I put on them have not altered the comfortthat much, but the soles show the wear. These were the last version, and they took a beating. I bought Mizuno Wave Rider 10's (mistake), but will probably check these out again.

I love the first Vomero, definitely my go to shoe. I've several half and full marathons in the original and can honestly say that I had no issues with my feet at all. No soreness, blisters nothing. The Vomero 2 increased the out sole rubber to give it much needed durability the only negative to the previous edition. Sizing for me felt more true to size but when in doubt always size up. Nike has listened and is definitely serving the runner. Best cushioned shoe on the market.

Added an insert for a little more arch support (I have super high arches), but this shoe is perfect otherwise. I'm not a heavey guy (155lbs), but the cushioning in the Vomero has given my legs relief form all of the pounding they were getting with previous shoes. I was running in Asics, but now I'm a Vomero fan for sure.

Great to hear people having similar experiences to me. I too sized down 1/2 from previous model. Put different insoles in(Peg '05) made them less squishy and more responsive. Certainly a shoe which takes time to 'get used to'. Alternate them with Landreth 3( wish the Landreth had the fit of these, find the heel 'baggy' but love the Asics ride). My only suggestion would be to 'beef up the mid-foot shank' of the Vomero as it torsionally gets floppy after about 40 min( 190lb neutral runner).

Loads of cushion. Ran a 5 and 10 mile distance in these right out of the box and had no issues. Cooling is noticeable compared to Trigon 4 Ride. Wasn't expecting the bright orange insole, pretty neat! My one gripe is that the shoe did not fit as I expected. The Road Runner site says buy 1/2 size up, but I had to order 1/2 down.

Great shoe. Very Soft, confortable, lightweight. Perfect for a neutral runner. I like the heel toe transition and feel higher than running on my old pegasus. Don`t see where the Air Zoom midsole is really but can`t complain about cushioning cause they are the softest shoes I have ever tried. Remover the orange insole rightaway and placed the Air Pegasus 05 insole instead. Congratulations Nike you have done it again!!!

Really important that you get a size up. When you look at the shoe straight on you can see the proan of the running shoe- It is awsome. for those that are complaining about it, I think you need to head to a more motion shoe- I havnt wore nike since college and now I running in these. I fell off the running wagon three years ago due to foot and knee issues I largely attributed to the sport. I was wrong! Sadly, it was the shoes I was wearing and when I went out and got a pair of these bad boys all of those problems went away and it has been sheer cushion deliciousness ever since. Those who say they have too much cushion have their right to say so. However, pay no mind to them Nike, this is an AWESOME shoe and something I thought could not have existed. This is a follow up to a post I made months ago after buying 2 pairs.... I've put on about 175 miles on one pair, and noticed significant wear on the sole. I run mostly on pavement or blacktop, but these shoes have worn considerably faster than the Shox TL or Air 360s that I had previously. If I may offer one suggestion to Nike, it would be to try to make the sole more enduring. But, if the worst thing that I have to endure is buying a 3rd pair of these in order to have the cush, then I guess I'll suffer with a smile on my feet...

Timothy don't give up too quickly if you like everything else about the shoe. I wear tested these shoes and experienced the same thing on my first run. A change of insole or the insertion of a gel heel pad will give you enough of a different fit that your problem will be resolved. These are a pair of shoes that you can forget that you have on. It is one of those rare shoes that I have worn where my focus in on my run, thoughts about problems I want to resolve, the scenery, etc. I am not thinking, "there could be a little more cushion here, or there, or my knee is getting a little sore, etc." A great shoe.

First, NO MORE KNEE PAIN! After years of buying my shoes based on looks I figured out that might be causing my pain. So I went for a cushioned shoe (180 lbs) supporting my arch type (high arches). Great cushioning in both heel and toe. Downside: experienced bad blisters in my achilles, had to buy thickest Thorlos socks. It's been one month so I assume they are broken in, but the heel box still rubs a bit even with the socks. Considering returning them next month and trying something else . . .

I have put on many miles on the Vom 2's and the Vom 1's. I do like both versions but the 2's are certainly the pick of the two. It has a little more room and find the cushioning just perfect (ultra plush). After an Asic Nimbus fan for many years I decided to try the Vom 1's and have not looked back. Nike you are setting a benchmark with the Vomero where other makers look to catch up. Please do not change a thing on these runners they are just right as they are. I'm a 5'10", 135lb runner who averages about 30-35 miles a week. My runs vary from track sprints to 13-mile training runs at a gingerly pace. I bought the Vomero 2 because I wanted a very well-cushioned shoe for longer, slower runs; I got what I paid for! As a matter of fact, the shoe offers too much cushioning for me and feels like it slows me down and encourages overstriding. I'm going to run a long run tomorrow and will see how I like the shoe for those, but I don't believe it will fit into my faster workouts because of the rebound factor. The shoe is wonderfully comfortable, but offers no support and lots and LOTS of cush. Be ready for something that feels much different than you may be used to. Will post a followup after a long run.

I was a big fan of the Vomeros 1 but always found them a bit snug in the midfoot and toe box. The V2's are just the thing we have asked for. The same luxurious plush cushioning from heel to toe, as the V1's, but with a little more room. Nike you did an excellant job with the V1's but you have done an even greater job on the V2's. Was once an Asics Nimbus fan, till they ruined them but these Vomeros are just gems. Great work Nike!

Believe the hype on this shoe - the past reviewers are right on. I tried to like the first edition of the Vomero, but the toe box was too narrow. I held out for this edition with the Nike+, and they were good for a 7.5 mile run right out of the box. Squishy is a great description, but the reflex of the shoe is responsive. I'm 5'10", 149, and had previously been running in the 360s and shox TL due to my gait and running on the front of my feet. These shoes will replace both of those. I ordered a 2nd pair last night. Since the first time I laced up the Vomero+2 I have been impressed. Excellent cushioning and much improved width!

at first it has a super soft and squishy feel, but after a few runs it has become just the perfect cushioning. a little bit roomier fit than the first version which is nice. a great over all shoe.

Best shoe I've ever run in! Same great cushioning of the Is but with a wider toebox and better upper. This is what a shoe marked as a cushioned shoe should be like. Heel is now a little wider as well, but not a problem. If you are looking for the ultimate soft, cushioned ride, this is it. Now, they need some flashier colors.

Fit is fantastic, cushioning just as pillowy, outsole appears more durable. Had to go down 1/2 a size from the V1. Took the insole out as Nike has put a stiff one in( very similar to Peg 06, but better arch design). After putting in a more flexible just as cushioned insole(from my Peg 05) the ride is even better. Not sure why Nike are using a stiff/orthotic like insole in a shoe that has been built around some of the great concepts/components of the Free?

Same cushioning as Vomero 1, better fit (first was a hair too snug), and I'll bet it's gonna get more miles with that new sole.

The shoe is definitely roomier that its predecessor, but unfortunately for me the shoe is now too wide for my foot. The cushoning is still excellent. For any of you who complained that the I was too tight in the forefoot, you definitely won't have that problem with this version. Sending mine back and I'm sticking with the I until I can't get them anymore.
