Reviewed by 25 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-20 Previous | Next » Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I really wanted to love this shoe. I have been running with a forefoot strike for 2 months and have felt great. No more heel pain, knee pain, felt fast and light like I did 25 years ago when I was 20. I thought the newtons would only help my new way of running. Well, I feel like this shoe only got in the way. It was way too much forefoot build up-guess it might be good for people who are having a hard time switching from heel strike to forefoot strike. Thank goodness for RRS I can send these back and get a neutral barefoot shoe like nike free types. I think newton is on the right path-forefoot strike being the natural and best running technique-I just don't need the extra help of a built up shoe. Pros

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I purchased this shoe a couple months ago and am still VERY happy with it. Before the Newton I had regular knee pain, having discomfort after a majority of runs. I thought I would try this shoe after reading the reviews and wasn't disappointed. I hardly ever experience knee pain any more and this trainer has taught me not to heel strike. I only run about 3 times a week alternating with my other training so I have not experienced them wearing out fast as I read other people have.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: As with others on the site, I have tried many different shoes with minimal drop until I found the "the ones." I have bunions, mild knee issues and use inserts. These shoes handled all of the above by being wide, having mesh in the right spots, being flexible as well as providing cushion. I have been told by different health care professionals to focus on the drop, not necessarily having no cushion. This makes sense to me, and this shoe fits the bill. I was mostly forefoot running before the shoe, but Newtons definitely encourages less heelstriking if you were doing so. Very good shoes, would recommend. Have used in both half marathons and shorter 3-5 milers.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: This is a great shoe! I was a heel striker and had back, knee and hip pain with my old shoes. These shoes have helped my form and helped me be a forefoot runner. I ran a half marathon in these last week setting a new PR taking 5 min off my last time!

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: This is my second pair of Newtons and I love them. I was already a fore foot runner so I really didn't have much of a transition period. But I stopped having knee pain vs. running in my Brooks. I tried running in my Brooks after running in the Newtons for 1 month and it felt like I was running in cardbord shoes. These do have much better traction than my first pair (Lady Issac S). The only reason I don't give these shoes a 5 is because they wear out too fast. Don't believe Newton's website about them lasting 1000 miles- try about 200-300 and the lugs start to wear down. And I hate spending the money every 4-5 months but my feet and joints are worth it!

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: Rave reviews convinced me to try these after I injured my hamstring and hip while training for a marathon. They are not miracle workers - they didn't eliminate my pain immediately (of course) - but I do believe they prevented further injuries. I finished the Marine Corps Marathon with these - in 3:51 - my goal time. The only drawbacks are that they wear out quickly and they're pricey compared with other running shoes - but I am still sticking with these!

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I love the concept of this shoe. I am a true forefoot striker, and I have been waiting for the day, for there to be a true forefoot running shoe. One problem: the traction on this shoe is less than great. I live in the Cleveland area, and inclement weather is pretty much a norm around here- and I really can not run in this shoe if it is at all wet. I took this out of a damp (not even rainy) day, and I was slipping all over the place. I'm bummed- I really had high hopes.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I have been wearing Asics for several years and was happy with them. Then i tried on a pair of Newtons at a marathon expo and had to give them a go. I love these shoes, they are super lightweight and comfortable - my other shoes feel like bricks compared to my newtons. I'm currently running 35-50 miles a week - I know many people have commented that these wear out quickly, In my opinion, i think I will need to change these out just as often as I did with my asics. Very happy and think these are well worth the price

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: Order these shoes at least 1/2 size up! I have been wearing Asics and always wear a 10.5 because they run a little small. My non-running shoes are all 10. Reviews said Lady Isaac are true to size. They absolutely are not. I had to return the 10.5 for an 11 because my toes were at the end. I don't like the fit of the 11 as well because the shoe is wider in the midfoot. I like a wide toebox, but I like a glove fit through mid and heel. Anyway, I wasn't sure how I would like going from a traditional shoe to a lower heel drop. I do! There's just enough cushion, just enough arch support and the roll forward from midfoot makes for a faster leg turnover - effortlessly faster. I'm wearing them with thicker socks so they fit better and really happy with how they feel.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I am so happy with my Newton Running Lady Isaac. Because of an old injury I had been hiding in a very cushioned, heavy shoe. The Newton not only gives me the support I need and helps me improve my form, but it is light and fast. It helps you correct your foot strike in a natural, subtle way. I'm hooked.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: Cannot praise these enough. I have bunions and supination which was leading to terrible IT band and knee issues on longer distances. I got these at a race bazaar at the recommendation of the sales guy, somewhat skeptically, and tried them after the race (not for the race!).

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: These shoes are lightweight;however, you can still wear them for long distance training. (I have worn them for an 8 hour run/walk ultra training run.) They are fabulous for those of us who are toe runners. I suffered from Plantar F for over a year, a recurrence (I have a history of heel spurs.) After running in Newtons for 2 weeks, the Plantar F disappeared. I was flabbergasted! I am a true fan of these shoes!!

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: This shoe was recommended to me by a physical therapist. The shoe is very comfortable and does offer the feeling of running barefoot. They definitely have a different feel.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I BOUGHT MY FIRST PAIR AFTER THE HOUSTON MARATHON. I HAVEN'T RUN A RACE IN THEM YET, BUT DON'T PLAN TO EVER RACE IN ANYTHING ELSE. I HAVE ALWAYS WORN ANOTHER SHOE, BUT THEY FEEL LIKE A CEMENT BRICK WHEN I PUT THEM ON. THIS SHOE IS AWESOME.

Comments about Womens Newton Running Lady Isaac Running Shoe: I got these shoes to try to improve my newly-found mid-foot strike running gait. As the company's website mentions, there was an adjustment period, but otherwise, they feel great! You will get faster wearing these shoes, although it is not really the shoe but the form that the shoe encourages that will improve your speed. One complaint I have about the fit is that they do feel a little narrow on me because I have a wide foot and the company does not offer any wide widths in their women's shoes. Hopefully soon though! Also, the lugs on the bottom of the shoe are already wearing flat and I have only had these shoes about a month now. I do run pretty high mileage- average 25-35 miles a week, but that's not too high for a training shoe!
