      I have been using these for a few weeks now, having switched to them from Brooks PureConnects. These are really comfortable and, as advertised, really reward a good mid-foot strike and Chi style posture. I think they are a much better option than a true zero drop barefoot shoe (like a Merrell Road Glove) for me; the cushioning is much appreciated. Interestingly, the lugs -- which feel so pronounced when you walk in them -- are unnoticeable when you are running.

      Like most running shoes, I am a 10 in these and a 9.5 in dress shoes. I am 6' an 172 lbs, run 15-20 miles a week.

      Oh, and my wife thinks they are positively hideous. So perhaps I should add that to the "Pro" column!!!

        I don't usually write reviews, but this shoe deserves one. I've been running for over thirty years, am 5' 10', 160 lbs., 48, and logging 40 or so miles a week. I'm an avid fan of Nike shoes and for the last 4 years or so have been training in Vomeros (long slow runs) and/or Lunarglides (intermediate faster runs). I try to run at least one full and several half marathons a year and have recently been racing in Streaks. I'm just peaking for the Disney Goofy (half a full back to back in January) and have been pacing out at 8:34 for my intermediate (10 milers) runs. I ran in these shoes for the first time last week and - wow! 10 miles, sub-8s, same effort (heart rate). The shoes reward you if you mid-foot strike with added forward momentum, and punish you if heel strike with minimal cushioning. All in all, a great shoe.

          great shoe for road or trail. most comfortable shoe out there. I have now purchased 5 Newtons and am always satisfied with the comfort and feel. take time getting aclimated to the shoe, but once you have adjusted, no better ride out there. I am 58, 5'7" and 155lbs, compete in IM's and ultra's.

            The upgraded Distance still has the Newton responsiveness, but is noticeably lighter and the front of the shoe is more streamlined. Nice color too. This shoe is really easy on feet and legs and does (at least in my case) foster a faster turnover with shorter stride.

              I use this shoe for road running and marathons. The advantages of this upgrade are these: It is lighter, yet remains very responsive. The lower profile makes the shoe more comfortable, at least for me. The forefoot has been streamlined, so that the shoe looks more like a racing shoe. Best shoe I have ever run in.
