Comments about Womens Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 Running Shoe:

A fortyish female, 110 lbs, 5'2", run 25 miles a week currently. I have very high arches. My feet are narrow at the heel and arch but my toes fan out. Because of this, I need a generous tow box. I do not pronate at all and buy neutral+ shoes.

I had been running in Asics, they were great shoes but did not fit my feet properly. I purchased the Saucony shoes in order to correct toe problems I was having.

I have put 175 miles on my Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 so I thought I had enough info to give a report. I bought these shoes along with a pair of Mizuno Wave Creation 11 which I alternate runs in. I also have a report on the Mizunos which I have put 150 miles on.

I wear a size 6 in non running shoes. I bought a size 6 1/2. I wish I had bought a size 7, or tried the 6 ½ in a wide width. The shoes fit well but I wish they were just a tad bigger. I wear very thin socks while running, if I wore thicker socks, they would be way too tight. If I buy another pair I will either get the size 7 or the 6 ½ in wide width depending on which feels roomier to me. My toe problem has healed and has not recurred. I no longer tape my toes as I had previously.

The two big selling points of this shoe are:
    1) The arch lock system. I have high arches…VERY high. These shoes are awesome in supporting my arches. They just clamp up to them and support the dog mess out of them. My arches never tire during a run….NEVER.
    2) The big toe box. The toe room is generous. It is a little smaller than the Nike Airs I have run in the past, but is adequate. I think the nice snug fit of the arch lock makes the toe box SEEM bigger to me than it is. I feel like my arches are so well supported and then when you get past the mid foot…BOOM it just opens up really wide for my fanning toes. I really like the feel of that!

I do have to be extra careful to not lace and tie these too tight. I had a similar issue with the Mizuno Wace Creation 11, but it is much more important to NOT tie too tight in these. At one point I irritated the inside on my pinky toe on one foot. During along run I ran the last 2 miles in a lot pain from pressure on the outside of my foot. The next day I laced up loose and it fixed my problem. (I have a habit of really lacing tight!!) This is one reason why I think I really need a ½ size larger than I have now. Tying loose is not a problem, I still have support and have not created a hot spot or blister, but even with thin socks I wish I had just a tad more room. I ran once with thicker socks on and that was NOT going to work. I blame this on me, not the shoe; I should have a larger size. It is not a problem for me to get 400 miles out of the shoe tying loose.

While running these shoes are very comfortable. They have a lot of cushioning and support. I do not feel the road much in these shoes due to the outstanding cushioning. On some days, that is just what I need. They do such a great job of arch support I could run a longer distance closer to my recovery day. Because of the cushioning, they do feel a bit sluggish to me. I do not feel I get as much power pushing off; like something is holding me back. They are still great running shoes, but I would not race in these or if I was doing a run trying to reach a certain time, I would wear my Mizunos instead (see my review of the Mizuno Wave Creation 11) I enjoy wearing these shoes on my easy long runs (7.5-8.5 miles currently) because they support and cushion so well. If I am running a long run at 10K pace, I go with the Mizuno Wave Creation for a lighter, less sluggish feel.

All in all these shoes are great for me. I use them for easy runs or runs where I am just feeling a little banged up and want more TLC on my feet due to the awesome cushioning they provide and arch support. I would not race in these shoes unless I had to. They are very comfortable and I do run good times in them, but they are heavier than the Mizuno Wave Creation 11.

I am the type of runner who needs a shoe to do easy training runs in where my feet and knees are pampered and another shoe where I can feel the road and haul it on some runs. The Saucony ProGrid are wonderful for my pamper days. They are fun to run in, support awesome in the arch and cushion my feet. They also have a durable tread that is good on slick roads but do not pick up annoying rocks in them.

I would buy these shoes again, but I plan to try on a ½ size larger and wide width first. Also, I may try a couple of other shoes just to see. I am happy with my purchase and have had 175 great miles so far, I know I will get 400 to 500 out of these shoes! Well worth the money.

Comments about Womens Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 Running Shoe:

These shoes are super comfy right out of the box. I can open up a new pair and run 8 miles no problem. Majority of my miles are streets and sidewalks. I am not a heavy person, but like the neutral plus shoes because I am a heel striker. These shoes cushion my heels, but don't hold up as long as the Nimbus I used before this. I wear thru the heels a little bit faster than other shoes - but not fast enough to make me want to go to another shoe. I had to stop wearing the Nimbus because the back of the shoe kept getting higher up my achilles with each new model. I started getting bad blisters and changed to the Triumph 7s. I also don't care for the laces, and replace them with Yanks! or similar style of non-tying laces.

Comments about Womens Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 Running Shoe:

I have very high arches and have difficulty finding shoes that are comfrotable for long periods of time - these fit the bill perfectly. The cushioning and fit are by far the best I've found - I love wearing these shoes. The only downside is that I find them too glitzy to wear as street shoes.

Comments about Womens Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 Running Shoe:

I suffer from fallen arches and as a result my feet tend to underpronate. I have seen a podiatrist and tried orthotics. A friend suggested I use this website to find the right shoes for my feet. These shoes offer great arch support and are built up on the outer sides of the shoe so that I notice when I begin to start putting pressure on the sides of my feet and correct my gait. Much cheaper than a trip to the podiatrist especially since my insurance does not recognize fallen arches as a real problem. When your feet aren't happy the rest of your body will follow.

I have gotten this shoe for the last 3 generations. I think I liked the last generation the best, but overall, a great shoe. I mostly run on the treadmill and synthetic track, occasional trail running/hiking. It is Lightweight, airy, true to fit. I have a slightly higher than average arch, so most sneakers have too much or not enough arch support..this one is perfect, which is why I keep going back to it.

Comments about Womens Saucony ProGrid Triumph 7 Running Shoe:

Not quite as cushiony as the 4, but very close. I tried the 5 and the 6 only to be disappointed in the cushioning. The 7 is a huge improvement. I use these shoes for long training runs (16-20 miles) and expect I will probably use them in a marathon. I do wear orthodics and the toe box feel a pinch narrow and short compared to earlier models, but not enough for me to adjust my normal size or width. The sole is very stiff. So far so good. Other shoe currently in may arsenal are Mizuno inspire and Asics Gel Nimbus. The Nimbus has been giving me problems recently.

I LOVE these shoes! I just switched from Mizuno, and I was afraid at first these would be too heavy. In the past, I have worn Asics, Adidas, and New Balance. They are so comfortable, I never want to take them off, even after runs! I have high arches and small body frame. I am interested to see if these will solve my ITBS problem. I'm hoping so! Way to go, Saucony...I totally underestimated you!

Using these for road running - 30+ miles per week - they have too much in the heel - was looking for that cushioning/stability that the Hurricane 7 had - still looking :(

I wear these with my orthotics and put in 40-60 miles/week. I've worn the Triumph 7s for a few years now and are still pretty happy with them. They wear out a little faster than I'd like them to, but I also wear them for trail running, so I can't blame the shoes too much.

Ditto...I don't know what Saucony did to the 7s but they have def lost a loyal Saucony fan. I've worn the Progrid Triumph 4/5/6 and have never been disappointed, til now. The toe box is so narrow and stiff. I gave it plenty of oppty to be broken in, but I give up! I'm going to switch to Brooks Glycerin

These shoes are awful. I ran 2 miles today in them and have blisters on both feet. I ordered wide width and it still seemed like they have narrowed the sides of the shoes. I previously have worn the Triumph 6 for years. I would not recommed these shoes to anyone.

Low mileage runner (10-15 mi/wk); ran in Triumph 6 and never had an issue; short runs in Triumph 7 resulted in numbness in feet. Toe Box is noticeably smaller than the 6 - order up half a size or try another shoe.
