I started wearing Zoot shoes with the introduction of the energy line. I wore the first pair religiously after buying them in 2008. I just threw them out after getting a pair of Tempo+ 4.0's. I tried the Energy 3.0's in between and hated them. The Tempo line now more closely resembles the early energy line. This shoe is even better than the early Energy pair though. It holds up better on longer runs and is ever so slightly more elevated in the heel which is better for me due to a past broken left ankle and reduced dorsiflexion.

The shoes fit true to size. I wear a 10 no socks and this fits perfectly. I will wear a pair of WrightSock lites for long runs and if you are on the cusp...go the 1/2 size up as it will fit better with the socks. The toe box is perfect for my Fred Flintstone feet and the width corresponds well to the length...although I would prefer it a hair wider.

Truth be told...I wear an old pair daily because they go on/off easy....but the yellow is a bit glaring for company outside of triathletes.

They are stable and comfortable and don't give me any knee or ankle issues running. That's about as good as it gets.

Personally I have found that Zoot shoes work best for my arches. Asics tend to hurt my arches after about half a mile, but with Zoot shoes I can run all day in them and feel great. These shoes are super light and easy to put on. Great for triathletes(like they were meant for) but also great for the average runner.

Was looking into trying a lightweight, minimal shoe. Previously, always got cushioned shoes for longer training runs. These fit well, VERY comfortble. Good construction and A+ on design. These shoes will feel great on the very first run. Have had them for two weeks and have put in 57 miles. They feel excellent. Get 'em if you're looking into a lightweight/minimalist shoe. I'm 200 lbs and no problems with lack of cushion.

I timed my 2 mile run at 18:01. 48 hrs later with my new Zoot shoes, I ran 15:42. I had not ran much for several months due to an injury. I rode my bike quite a bit though. I am 6'1" and I weigh 220...the shoes are great even for someone as heavy as myself.

I originally got these shoes for triathlons, but I have used them for stand alone road races too. I have had mixed results feet wise.
-Ran a 1/2 marathon in them without any issues.
-Ran a speed training 5k (sockless) in them and the top edge of the back part of the shoe rubbed my achilles, ouch.
-Did an Olympic tri and put some body glide all around the rim of the shoe including that back portion and had no rub. However, i did get a blister on the outside of my left foot.
-Just ran a 15k and got a tiny blister on one of my toes.

I think the blister issues may be due to how roomy the toe box is, not sure. Despite these minor issue, I really like these shoes. They are comfortable and very light. I REALLY liked how easy they were to put on for T-2 at my Olympic, which is the whole reason i got them.

third season wearing this model for long distance triathlons. First run felt great, can't wait to get them racing. Much better color option than the green monsters from last season. However, still like the red ultra tempos.

Had the first 2 versions of the Ultra Tempo. Got the exact same size this time, but they seem a little longer...maybe half size longer. In general however, really comfortable try shoe for wearing sockless.
