It seemed fine, the holder didn't fit my 32 ounce water bottle so I returned the belt.

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

I purchased this pack to use in an upcoming ultra on Labor Day weekend. I wanted to be able to carry water easily while leaving my hands free. I have not tried running with this pack, mostly because I plan to walk most of the ultra, but it stays put and does not jostle up and down or side to side. The bottle is easy to remove and replace, and I love the twist opening nozzle. The zippered compartment is large enough to carry a phone and fair amount of nutrition if necessary. I was hesitant about getting it because other reviews mentioned that the straps slipped, and I did notice some slippage when I first started to wear it. The slippage has subsided, but not quite gone away, but the other features are good enough to make it worth dealing with having to tighten it now and then, about every 3-4 miles.

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

I have used this item on two runs (8+ and 11+ miles) and one short hike. While hiking, the Bottle Pack worked perfectly. A full 5 star item in my opinion. BUT... while jogging (as many others have stated) either or both of the straps have lost a slight amount of tension and have loosened repeatedly.

Maybe it is just me, but I want to cinch the straps down as tight as possible against my waist. Under those usage conditions, I have found that I need to re-tighten the belt every 100-200 yards. It has never loosened far enough that I had a concern of the belt slipping off my body, but just enough to feel some extra sway and movement around my midsection.

On the positive side, the bottle is very accessible even while jogging. I push from the bottom and pull from the top and it comes out easily. Due to the apx. 45 degree angle of the holder, it is also easy to return the bottle once I have finished drinking. Plus the holder keeps the bottle secure with zero issues. The pocket is large enough for my full sized cellphone, keys, and a gel pack or two. The padding and straps rest directly against my skin while running, and I have had no problems with chaffing or any other types of contact related issues. Also while color is a subjective issue, I often run on street side sidewalks. Having the optic yellow coloring does provide me with some mental comfort that I am increasingly visible to motorists.

So yeah, for my needs it would be a perfect product except for the belt issues. I bought it with full knowledge that that might be the case, so heck if I am going to return it. So unless the belt starts to loosen even more rapidly (with more wear and tear on it) I will be happily using it on short hikes where a backpack is overkill, and just "dealing with it" on jogs.

There are other comments about the belt coming loose while in use. The comments are valid and accurate. Even worse, once wet (i.e. hot long Florida runs) the belt loosens in mere steps. RRS should pull this product as defective. I would not recommend buying.

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

I run about 30-35 miles per week and I needed something to hold water and phone on long runs.

I like how the pack functions. The bottle is good quality and does not leak. My phone and car key fit in the pouch with some room to spare.

The straps loosen when you run. I have enough extra strap when I cinch in on that I can tie the end together across the buckle. This seems to lessen the loosening. It seems to me that a buckle with a slightly slammer opening or thicker straps would solve this problem.

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

I was a little concerned from other reviews about this becoming loose during long runs (the only time I use this) but it seemed to settle in during my second use. Or perhaps it took a little practice to wear it just right. At any rate, it stays put, handles my hydration needs and keeps my hands free!

The sizable side pocket, able to hold my iphone. I like the 21 ounce bottle, instead of the multiple smaller bottles on other hydration belts.

Belt buckling system loosens up when running. System needs redesign, belt webbing slides through buckle turn backs to easily. I had to resort to using safety pins to keep it from slipping.

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

So I've read the other reviews and haven't had any trouble with my straps loosening - in fact this is the ONLY pack I've ever used that doesn't shift around once I get it set. My hips are considerably wider than my waist and I'm able to set it high or low without it shifting around or bouncing. The mesh backing seems to grip my tights or shirt and stay in place. I love that the zip pocket has 2 sections - it allows me to carry my phone w/o it sitting right up against my sweaty clothing. And the key hook is also a great feature - how many times have you dropped your keys out of your pack? Anyway, I'd definitely consider trying this pack as it's a keeper for me!

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

I use this product on my long run day. Typically that day will consist of 12-15 miles. I like the bottle with the insulation to keep your water cool. I also like the stiff design of the holder for the bottle. It sits very nicely on your back and the mesh material seems to be cool during your run. The straps need work. They loosen ever 1/4 mile forcing you to continue to pul them tight during your run. They will not stay tight regardless of position or how tight you pull them. Once they start the water sloshing will make them loosen faster. Running in eastern NC i am forced to carry some type of hydration during summer months, so i will work around the issue.

I took this item for a test run this morning ( 12 Miles ), I'm so glad I bought it!
I got both of my hands free again. Once you find the perfect adjustment for it around your waist IT will stay there! Not sure what type of runner the previous reviewer is, but i didn't have any issues with mine staying in place. The bottle sits nicely center ( Balanced ) in the lower part of your back. You don't feel out of balance when you're running. If you have it tight to the right length it won't bounce up and down. Assuming you're wearing the right running clothes, you shouldn't have any issues with your attire. The pocket is big enough to carry : keys, CC, ID, 2 gels, may be also a phone, etc. Personal preference, I like to run as light as possible. The bottle Rocks, I kept it open all during my run, easy in and out, but you do or my have to use both hands to take it out and put it back in… Not a big issue! Awesome color, Lime Punch, so people can see you at dawn.
I would recommend it to others, it's Well constructed like every other Camelbak product and I'm sure it will last me a few years.

        Did not like

        By David

        from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about R-Gear Full Throttle Bottle Pack 21 ounce Hydration:

Purchased on Thursday, ran with it Friday, returned it on Saturday. The straps will not stay tight. The bottle bounced continuously during my run and loosened up just enough that the belt begin moving around, tried keeping bottle in small of my back but the bottle would move from left to right side, eventually my shirt was twisted and at one point from the bouncing my pants were being slid down, found my self adjusting the bottle the entire run.
