Best Uses I was looking forward to trying the Newtons after running in VFF's for 2 years and then strictly Hoka Cliftons . I first ran a easy 5 miles in the new Distance 4 with socks and they felt OK, toe box a bit tight .My next run was a 9 miler with no socks and I had a couple of issues , the tongues were slipping and moving over to one side. The top of my right foot had cut and was bleeding from a rough spot inside the shoe under the first eye hoop and my left foot got chewed up from the edge of the tongue. I had about 40 miles on the shoes and never felt the "POP" , I'm a midfoot runner and had some wear on the ends of all 5 lugs and that was it. I'll have to return for another pair due to the eye loop popped off on the left shoe.
 I can second the earlier review. This shoe fits well, is comfortable and fast. The improvement in responsiveness is evident, particularly when running up long hills. The value added is more than cosmetic. Pros
