Reviewed by 3 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-3 Pros Cons Best Uses I loved my Motion III's and didn't expect the Motion IV to be an entirely different shoe. The thin tongue is no issue, but the entirety of the shoe seem to have been redesigned to be quite unyielding. As if your foot is supposed to move as the shoe wants instead of the other way around. They seem fairly close to the trail shoe in terms of rigidity. I've owned at least 20 pairs of Newtons, and these are the only ones that I haven't loved :( I'm sure they're a great choice if you like a very firm and rigid shoe though!

These shoes are great. Very comfortable and supportive. The tongue is a little different than the last model and I thought it would bother me at first but I don't even think about it and no rubbing. I alternate between these and Mizuno Wave Inspires and wear the same size in both.
Pros Cons Best Uses I have just started running this past year and started with the Newton neutral running shoe; now I am wearing the stability shoe. I really believe Newtons have helped me become more of a forefoot runner. With that said, the cushion is fantastic on the forefoot and to heel. I bought this shoe with the intent of more long distance running, so I'll have to do another review. One thing I did notice so far is that the tongue rides up a bit after a run. Maybe I am not tying my laces up correctly, but didn't have this issue with my other Newtons (gravity and kismets). All in all, I love the shoe! I didn't even have to break them in...they were ready to go out of the box. :)
