So, I have been using the Vomero line for more than four years. I started with the Vomero 6s, then several pairs of the 7s, and finally several pairs of the 8s. I absolutely loved them. Naturally, a few months ago, when I was getting close to the end of my last pair of Vomero 8s, I order two pair of the newest version (at the time), the Vomero 10s. I have never been more disappointed with my shoes. Out of the box, the quality seemed cheaper, but I just figured they were using some newer materials that I wasn't used to, and the fit was still good, so I started running in them. From the start, the cushioning didn't seem to be as nice as my previous Vomeros, but I kept running. After about 50 miles on the first pair, I had a 10 mile easy pace run, and for the last two miles of the run, both my feet hurt on the forefoot. I've never had that happen with Vomeros before. In any case, this was the first pair of shoes that I have ever sent back to RRS. The good news was that I finally got to try the VIP return policy, and RRS did not disappoint... they were phenomenal and even suggesting replacement shoes for me.
Comfortable & Cushy!
I walk extensively on hard pavement and am a significant forefoot striker. I challenged the RRS expert to name the 3 best shoes for forefoot cushioning and explain why. After a very helpful discussion, I chose the Vomeros.
I'd previously worn Gel Kayanos for years, but the 20's were a huge disappointment...not nearly as comfortable as 18's and earlier versions. The Vomeros, on the other hand, are great. After 3 weeks of use and over 50 miles, I'm very satisfied. They are light yet supportive and have exceptional cushioning in both the forefoot and heel...continuing to feel great even after hour+ walks.
I highly recommend these shoes if you want cushioning (with support)!
Good running shoe, but not for high mileaage
I find the Vomero 10s to be comfortably and I enjoy running in them. I like the cushioning, the arch support and they fit well. I was a big fan of the earlier Vomeros and I like these much better than the previous few models. I would have given them 5 stars, but I have about 120 miles on them and they have significant wear outer souls. I don't think they will last much more than 200 miles before I wear through the bottoms.
I run a little over 20 miles a week on asphalt. My previous Pegasus 30's had just about 400 miles before retired them.

Excellent running shoes
I bought these for my 25 year old son. I have worn Air Zoom Vomero for years, and his old running shoes wore out. He runs about 4 miles, 5 days a week. From the moment he took his first step in them, he said it was like running on a cloud. They are perfectly cushioned, comfortable (no blisters ever), breathable, and light.
Back to nike.
Experimented with different shoes. Found out brooks wears just like the Nike. Asics shoes sent me to chiropractor. Back to good ole Nike. These shoes don't hurt my knees or hip. They feel light and decent
Cushioning but not like the vomero 4. Combine with rrs cushion insoles, winner.
After only one run this morning I think Nike has improved on the vomero 9. They are lighter and seem to be comfortable out of the box. There isn't as much cushion as the 9 but I was still pleased with the comfort. Good arch support for longer runs. They are very good looking as well!
Close to perfect
Good daily workhorse for an older runner needing more cushion but still wanting to run at a good pace. Better than the 9s for sure. On my 3rd pair already! Unfortunately I only get about 300-350 miles on pavement before they lose the shock protection and I start feeling dinged up.
Good shoe for older athletes
I am a 77 year old male and a veteran of the 1970's running boom. I competed mainly in the late seventies and early eighties in the New York City boroughs. I saved my race bibs and counted 160 when I quit and trashed my trophies and medals. Three years ago I had spinal surgery to eliminate pain caused by lumbar stenosis and a severely crushed sciatic nerve. I am pain free but nerves in my feet haven't quite relearned their role as a balance mechanism. This shoe is light enough and sufficiently flexible and supportive to allow energetic walks of up to 3 miles.
Sole not as good as previous Volmeros 1 to 9 for trail running, especially in wet, muddy or slippery conditions. Less grip and minimal tread.
More suited for pavement or running machine.
Why this was changed defies logic.
To me is the now the Windows 8 of running shoes and will have to seek another type.
Downgrade from last year's model.
I have about 30 miles on these shoes after wearing my Zoom Vomero 9's into the ground. I haven't liked these NEAR as much as I liked the 9's. My feet have been falling asleep/hurting around my forefoot and there doesn't seem to be quite as much cush to this version. Maybe I just need to break them in a little more - but so far I haven't enjoyed them much at all.
Bought these shoes and thought they looked heavy. When I tried these shoes on they were surprisingly light and comfortable. The fly-wire made the shoe very snug on my feet. I love these shoes
The Vomero toe box was too small for the 2E width. The Vomero was supposed to be slightly wider than the Nike Zoom Pegasus for the same size but actually is slightly more narrow. I had to return the Vomero and have stuck with the Pegasus.
Sizing is a question
The sizing guide of one half up is sensible, but, while my orthotics fit the previous two pairs of these shoes I purchased, these are just a little bigger, leaving room for my orthotics to slip around... which isn't good.
Soles wear fairly quick
I have nearly 200 miles and the soles have worn quick. With the shoe looking in nearly perfect condition, it's almost a shame to get rid of them!
Overland Park, KS
I prefer a more cushioned heel and tong. Very light.
Newer model better in every respect. May swap this for the new one out.
Good Shoe for interval working, light weight good stability, didn't like much for distance i feel too stiff on the heel, the adidas ultrabook is the best por high milage.
Not quite as comfortable as my old Vomero 5 but still pretty
Not quite as comfortable as my old Vomero 5 but still pretty good.
I would like again and again
