I've been a Ghost wearer for years. I wear a 2EE so my color choices were limited and this year it was downright ugly. So I decided to switch to the Glycerins. I don't know comfort like this existed, plus it's got a wider toe area than the Ghost. Brilliant!

I am a runner who typically does 20-25 miles a week and does a couple 10K or half marathon races a year. For the last few years I have experienced pain around my left heel and Achilles. I went to a podiatrist who works with runners and tried physical therapy, foot rollers, supportive insoles, etc. There was no improvement until I started running in the Glycerin 12, and then the 13. The heel pain gradually lessened and a year later it is virtually gone. Perhaps any extra cushioned shoe would have done the trick, but I am now sold on the Glycerins. They are extremely comfortable and with 400 miles on my first pair, I hardly see any wear on the shoes.

Best all around shoe I've ever run in. I'm a heavier runner at about 190 pounds, and have worn these for runs as short as 3k, up through 25k as I'm training toward a February 2016 marathon. No knee or foot issues, no blisters, just great comfort. The only downside is that I have exceptionally high arches and need to be very careful not to lace them too tightly. I might wear something lighter for 5k or shorter track races, but that's not where I'm at regardless. Highest praise is that I bought a second pair when they were on sale and will probably add a third pair to the rotation on the next 25% sale.

Best Uses Very nice feel. Good cushion with out the gel jiggle. Nice firm feel but good for the long runs. Breathability could be better but with the cold weather starting shoe is just fine. I'll buy again.
Pros Cons
Best Uses I have completed four full distance IronMan's wearing Brook Glycerins. I have loved the previous models as they are all I wear. I am very disappointed by the latest model the Glycerin 13. The company has used cheaper materials and the fit has been compromised. The shoe feels more narrow with less cushioning. They look as though they are already showing signs of wear and tear after one use. The outer reflective Stretch material has been replaced by material that holds moisture inside the shoe as there is less venting. The logo stitching on the tougue has been replaced by a vinyl sticker that is already starting to peel off. Overall the quality that I have come to expect from Brooks over the years is not there.

The 13 is the same feel and performace as the last iterations. Very smooth tranisition from the heel to toe. DNA is not as cushy and pillowly as ASICS gel but the marketing is true with DNA. The faster you run the springy'er the feel. When you are walking or running at a bit slower pace the more it feels pillowly. Overall excellent shoe. No surprises from the last several versions.

The brooks glycerin 13 is an amazing shoe with a great amount of cushioning, support, and flexibility. These can go the miles and keep you running on clouds. The glycerin 13 are more heavier, have more flexibility, better fit and have more support then the previous glycerin 12. I would recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a neutral cushioned ride.
