Comments about Mens Hoka One One Tor Ultra Low WP Hiking Shoe:

I purchased these to walk on the Camino de Santiago Trail in Spain. I broke the usual rules of a break-in period and got these 24 hrs before i left. these shoes are amazing, very comfortable with great support. I have had some achillies issues, so the ultra low was perfect and i never had a problem. excellent traction on all surfaces. I walked 15miles per day in all weather conditions and did not have any issues! even after walking for 6+ hrs each day i had no real foot issues. many others on the trail had severe foot pain and blisters.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Tor Ultra Low WP Hiking Shoe:

I am a commercial landscaper who averages 35 miles a week walking on varied terrain and surfaces. Previous to my Hoka Tors I was burning through athletic shoes every 2-3 months. I had used light hikers in the past but the comfort level for the mileage I was moving wasn't there.

Combine the distance with persistent moisture, dirt, mud and rough handling and I was spending lots of cash on replacement shoes. I had come to a point where I was balancing comfort against durability. I had purchased a pair of Hoka ATRs for running and was blown away by the comfort. I had planned on using them for work but I decided that I wanted to keep them in good shape for their intended use.

I searched the Hoka website and found the Tor Lows and bought them. They have been fantastic. I have abused them in the rain, mud and dirt. I have walked a couple of hundred miles in them since March and they still look great, feel great and have maintained their waterproof integrity.

The soles of most athletic shoes have smoothed out to the point of zero traction with the amount of use I put them through. The Tors have almost all of their tread left. The only smooth spot is under the toes of the right foot, which appear to be a biomechanics issue rather than a product issue.

Love these shoes and will most likely buy a pair of the boots for when cooler temps roll around.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Tor Ultra Low WP Hiking Shoe:

I bought these shoes for light hiking in the DC and Maryland area. However, ended up jogging in them too. These shoes are well built, great cushion and great stability. I use them instead of my Challenger ATRs for trail running. Can't say enough great things about them and of the 4 pairs of Hokas I've own these are definitely my favorite. No complaints yet, but I've only had them about 3 months.

      Tor Lo forst review

By Just another guy that likes running

      from Anaheim Hills

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Tor Ultra Low WP Hiking Shoe:

I run the pavement in Stinson ATR's. Originally got them in hopes of double duty on both trails and asphalt, but they were too unstable for me on the trails. But I love the Stinson ATR on the pavement.
I saw the Tor Lo on-line and it looked not only more stable because of the lower profile heal, but also appeared to have a beefier upper that I felt would provide better protection for feet and hold up better over time and miles. So I bought a pair.
Have not taken out on run yet, but have worn them a couple days and they feel great. my Stinsons are size 12 so I got a 12 in the Tor. The Tor feels a little roomier in the footbox. I prefer a glove fit in my running shoes, which I have in the Stinson, but the Tor was just a tad bigger. It still works for me I'm just wearing a more cushioned sock. The in-sole inserts have a fairly high arch support in them that I first thought was not going to work for me, but after a couple days of wearing them I'm not noticing it as much and I think I'll be okay with it. I also notice a little bit of heel slip which I can't stop by adjusting the laces, but once again it doesn't appear (in the couple days walking in them) that it will be an issue. But it would be nice if the lacing system was tweeked a little to offer that adjustment in the heel. The cushioning feels spot on. Can definitely feel some cushion, but no where near what the Stinsons have. I really like the feels of the soles. They have a nice roll with each step and have a spring like feel when you push off.
I'm really looking forward to my first trail run in them. Hopefully tomorrow. I'm currently preparing for a 50 mile ultra at the end of this year.
I'll give another review after my trail run.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Tor Ultra Low WP Hiking Shoe:

Very first they are near impossible to find in a store so I had to guess based on my other Hoka's on the size. Which is risky business when you're buying a $200+ shoe.
Secondly where the tongue webbing is for the waterproofing, it bunches up and is VERY uncomfortable on the top side of your foot.
That has since been broken in and is A LOT better!

Like I said only time will tell and plan to do a follow up review after I go hike a few hundred miles in them.
