I was turned onto this shoe at a running shoe clinic coming out of physical therapy in 2000 and have been using them ever since. I have bought several pair of shoes with "new" technology and none have ever felt as good as these. May Adidas keep making them forever.

I first ran in these shoes back when they came out in the Spring of 2000. Adidas dicontinued them the next year and their replacements could not match the orginial. They are light and very soft. I don't like to wear a heavy shoe for long runs but these are the perfect blend of weight and cushioning. The also respond nicely on dirt roads that I sometimes train on. I hope RRS continues to carry them as Adidas is once again going to discontinue them to retailers at the end of 2009.

As a medium-neutral runner, this is the greatest shoe I have ever used in the last 10-15 years. I've experimented with others for one reason or another - nothing compares. I buy about 5 a year. I almost went into a depression when I heard a rumor they were going to discontinue this one. I use this for everything, long runs, fast runs, racing - its perfect. Good price too.

Great shoe. Took a chance and purchased these via RRS without trying them on first based on reviews. Glad I did. Ended up purchasing two pairs. I'm 5' 10" @ 185 lbs and have a neutral stride. The cushioning on these is very good but not so much that you loose responsiveness. Very light shoe that seems to hold up well. I've taken the same set of shoes up to 14 and 17 miles multiple times without complaints. Once I wear a pair out, I will most likely by another.

I am very happy with these shoes. I am a light, neutral runner with no biomechanical issues, and I have a hard time finding flexible, soft, well-cushioned shoes for everyday runs. These are perfect. They feel like the original Nike Haywards of 2 or 3 years ago, before Nike ruined them. VERY good cushioning in the forefoot. They are so plush you are going to feel carsick in them - like riding in the backseat of an old Buick. Heavy runners are going to find them too soft and spongy, but for light runners they are ideal. I use Adizero Tempos for faster/tempo runs, and these Bostons for longer/slower runs, and I am set. Goodbye, Nike.

I love this shoe. I'm 5'10", 132 lbs with high arches. I run 50-60 miles a week. I use the Bostons for intervals on the track and tempo runs. Great cushioning but a lightweight feel. My only complaint is the toungue slides to the either side while I run.

I am 6' and 170 pounds. I have been using these for training for many years. I have had great sucess without injury. I run 40-60 miles a week. Love these for training!

6'4" 170. On my fourth pair, and I won't use any other trainer. I have tendinitis of the knee and with the Bostons they don't really bother me at all with 60 mile weeks. I wouldn't use them past 300 miles though, they go bad quickly after that.

Thu, July 24,2008:
I am having trouble finding a somewhat light shoe for tempo runs. No luck with these. 6 1" 177 neutral runner and the shoe felt way to soft in the forefoot and arches seemed to low for my medium arch. I felt like I was sinking during each step.

6'1", 180lbs reconstructive surgery on both knees but have had no problems since changing to this shoe. I have bought this shoe for many years. Have run 10 marathons in them. Fantastic shoe but with a lifespan of only about 250-300 miles.

I am 6' 170 lbs, high arches, reconstructed right knee, mild under pronator. I have been running for 25 years and this is the best shoe I have found since the red, white and blue adistar (about 10 years ago). This shoe is amazingly well cushioned for as light as it is and I think it can work as either a trainer or race day shoe. My only complaints are minor ones: the laces are too short and the heel is just a tad wide for my narrow feet. The shoe is quite stiff and provides excellent toe-off for a heel striker and should work just as well for a mid-foot strike. I will definitely buy a couple more pairs at this price and I echo earlier comments that I hope Adidas never stops making this shoe.

170 lbs., 5'11", about 15-20 miles/week. On my second pair - love the shoe. Nice cushioning, nice stability, nice price. Only negatve - lasts about 300 miles and then pretty much shot, but that seems about normal. Will buy a third when time comes.

SIZE WARNING: sizing up by 1/2 is not enough. I followed the advice and the shoe was short on length. I am not rating this shoe because they didn't have the next size up. Too bad, the cushioning did feel nice.

By far the best shoes I ever put on. Getting ready to buy my second pair since I ran the soles off my others. If you are looking for an all around runner don't look past the Boston Classic, you will not regret it.

On my 5th pair of Bostons, and I'll never run train in another pair of shoes. Trained for and ran a 2:51.05 marathon with no problems to speak of. I am 5-9, 135 with high arches and very narrow feet. These shoes fit like a glove and the cushioning is unprecedented.

I’m a 125 lbs with medium arches and on my 5th pair. Great for everyday training and for ½ marathons to marathons. Good cushioning. I have tried other brands and more expensive shoes but always come back to the Bostons. Hope adidas never discontinues this shoe. For shorter races, 5k-10k, I switch to the lighter adizeros or rotterdams.

The best fit for narrow neutral runners. I love this shoe. I am on pair #4 and see no other shoe on the market that fits my narrow feet and medium high arch. 6'2, 170 lbs. Ran a sub-3:15 last October in a pair of Boston Classics and just bought another pair for Boston in '07. Long lasting, durable, lots of cushion and light weight. Perfect trainier or racer. The new 07 model fits the same as 06. Iused to wear Mizuno's but they have gone to a larger toe-box than I like. Good luck!

I am on pair number 6. Plenty of cushioning without a lot of weight, fits me well in the heel, and has plenty of toe room. If you want a lot of support, this is not your shoe, but if you want a good cushioned shoe, fairly lightweight,(not racing light),at a good price, then this is a good choice. More cushioning that the performance shoes. I usually get 350 miles out of these shoes before I retire them. I now have 4 pairs that I still wear around town.

I love this shoe. It fits my C+ feet extremely well. Not as good as the Classic Ride though. It's a little soft for a big guy, but the price is so good I put the Performance Cush insole in and its an awesome ride now. I still prefer The Ride because of my size,225, but the price is so good I bought both and rotate them. The Boston and the Ride are just a hair short of performing as well as the previous model adistar Cushion. All three fit my feet about the same. If you love highly cushioned neutral shoes then miss a few trips out for dinner and get all 3!
