Good training cushion shoe. I'm 6', about 180#s and run mostly on pavement. I own a pair for a week now an they are performing well-- all in the name of saving my 40+ yrs legs and knees. I had own previously both Supernova and Adistar Cushion before. My last set of shoes were Nike's Air Zoom Vomero and they did fine too.

Very wide toebox leads to severe blistering. Tongue is unusually thin and flimsy. Cheap construction. Forefoot is flexible (good), cushioning is too bouncy (bad). Terrible choice if you have a narrow foot but no worse than the super wide fitting Wave Rider or super wide fitting Nimbus. I hope the next model is narrower like in the past.

Thu, October 02,2008:
The toebox is too wide for a narrow foot and the cushioning is a little too soft, which leads to a mushy or unresponsive ride. The heel last does a nice job of keeping your foot cupped and locked down however. This is a decent but not great shoe.

Been looking for a cushioned trainer for ultra 50 training. Ride height on this shoe is too high and the shoe feels slow and unresponsive compared to the Wave Rider. But both the Rider and the Supernova fit too wide for me in the forefoot. I'm not at all a fan of the new market trend to the wide forefoot fit to address the American market.

Love this shoe. Best fitting shoe I have owned in a long time. I usually go for light/performance shoes but thought I'd try the cushion since I am starting to run long distances. They are like running with pillows on your feet yet still perform. I hope they don't change these too much in the updates. I wear a 9.5 and bought my size. They fit perfect. I previously had nike shox in a half size larger and they kept blistering my right foot after about 7 miles.

This is my 5th pair of Supernovas after a pair of Supernova 5s and 3 pairs of Supernova 6es. Still the best cushioned trainer for my foot. Wider in the toebox and more volume in the arch than last year's model. As a narrow footed runner this was not necessarily welcome - I'd prefer if they made this shoe narrower again. It took about 75 miles for the forefoot to loosen up - I found them less responsive than the 6es for my first couple of weeks but now they're comparable. Seem to be very durable. I expect I'll get 4-500 miles out of them at least.

I think the shoe is the best.... I got after a series of injuries that I just couldn't deal with. They helped me during the whole treatment. Definitely will buy again.

I've been a long time fan of the Supernova Cushion. These are the best to date. Breathable upper, seam free means less toe rubbing, roomier toe box. Great cushioning and lots of durability. I've also gotten 400+ miles out of mine. I'm 5'10", 132 pounds, with high arches, and I average 50 miles a week. Even on the ends of long runs these shoes feel great. Tried Brooks and the Nike Pegasus in the past but they lack the durability and cushioning of the Supernova Cushion. These are just softer.

I got these for outdoor track. I'm a forefoot striker. Coming from 3 pairs of Asics Nimbus 8s, I thought the cushion was fine. The most impressive feature for me was their durability. I got over 400 miles out of my pair compared to 300-350 from Asics. Will buy again.

I have found my dream shoe. This shoe has unparalled heel cushioning with awesome transition and decent forefoot cushioning. Relatively light with great feel and no seam rubs. I've run for years in Asics, Brooks, and Nikes. My first pair of Addidas since I was a kid, and I couldn't ask for a better trainer. 100+ miles and they are still very smoooooth!!!

I've loved the past versions of the Supernova Cushion. They were the go-to trainer for a neutral runner with a high arch, narrow foot. Sadly the 7 seems to have gone the way of the trend to homogenize and stabilize the "neutral" trainer market. The midsole of the arch is flatter and the medial upper has more volume. Makes it less appealing to the high arch runner. At least there's still the Adizero line...for the time being.

In my opinion, this shoe would be good for heel strikers but not so good for midfoot strikers, as the heel cushioning is great but the forefoot cushioning is only adequate. Sharp looking shoe in the blue graphics, but the ride is not that great. Feels slow and the transition from heel to toe feels sloppy. I'll try the Mizuno Precision next.

This shoes not bad but not great either. Fit is narrower than Adistar 6. Still not glove like fit but not swimming pool fit like other model. I need tight fit for skinny foot but can't find good model. Supernova 7 is not bad but still cause blister on long run downhills because still a bit too fat and foot sliding inside shoe side to side. Wave Rider 8 and 9 was good for me no problems but not making anymore. I try Rider 10 and 11 but not so good still wide than before. Supernova is better than new Rider but not best like past. My opinion only. You choose best you like.

Mon, April 14,2008:
compared the supernova 7 to the adistar 6. the supernova 7 fit narrower in the forefoot/toebox, and felt heavier in weight in comparison to the adistars. however, i preferred the firmer cushioning and tighter fit of the supernova 7 over the adistars. the adistar is comfortable, but seems to be designed for a super wide foot and fits 1/2 size larger than other brands. speaking of other brands, i haven't found any shoe that rides as well as the wave rider 9 (and that includes the current wave rider 11). the rider 9 is like a custom fit for my foot and adidas and even current mizuno models are just not the same in terms of offering excellent performance and a glove like fit in a lightweight distance trainer.

I have been running in the Supernova Cushion for more than 6 years. I am 6'3" and 210. This is the best model to date, but I have loved them all. I have used them in 5 marathons including Boston. For a bigger guy the cushion out weighs the weight.

6', 160, 25 yrs. old, getting ready for Boston. Great cushion and good ride. Please shave off .5-1 oz. Have worn Pegasus and Cumulus 9. Like the cushioning of the Pegasus but it's pretty heavy. Like the fit and ride of the Cumulus but can't go more than 10 miles because it's so hard and beats up my knees and hips. The Supernova has softer cushioning than the Pegasus and comes close to the Cumulus in terms of ride. It feels lighter than the Pegasus but could stand to be lightened just a bit. Not sure on durability yet.

Smooth and comfortable. Wore them straight out the box with no issues and can see this being my shoe for the rest of 2008. A tad on the heavy side though.

I have to admit I don't normally run in adidas and the only reason I picked it up in the shop was because it looked nice. Anyway they fit OK and seemed pretty smooth so I bought them. On the whole I'm impressed but they could do with being a bit lighter and more responsive in the forefoot.

This is my first pair of Adidas Cushion. I am very pleased with the fit and finish of the sneaker. Roomy toe box great rubber. Heel feels phenominal when I land. Very satisfied.

The heel on this shoe is ingenius. It really felt like it was adapting to my gait. I feel that the cushioning is good and not overly springy. The weight of this shoes are good and the toebox is roomy enough that I didnt have to get a wide shoe.

To me they have really nice heel cushion but seem to be a little too loose. They did'nt come with long enough shoe strings to go around last hole. They have nice midfoot and arch support for high arch but could use a little more cushion in the forefoot.I guess my moto 5's have me spoiled.I'm going to use these for work don't know if i'll use a pair to run in or not.

They are a comfortable fit but the forefoot propulsion is seriously lacking compared to the Supernova Cushion 6.

Fri, January 18,2008:
At 12.9 oz they are not a "performance trainer." Very good shoe, as advertised. Slightly firmer than anticipated but still very well-cushioned. A tad too heavy for me liking on anything but LSD runs at 12.9 oz. Adidas, just shave off an extra ounce and I'll buy 5 pair.

tried out a fresh pair at a local run store. fit is snug, w/c i like. footbed felt firm, w/c i didn't expect, even firmer than asics 2120 TRAIL. might be a problem for midfoot/forefoot strikers who are more accustomed to asics' lush, forgiving soles. could pass for performance trainers to more experienced runners. i wouldn't call these bad at all.
