I must admit, I'm one of those shoe junkies that have got to try the latest and greatest running shoe known to mankind.., according to the manufacturer that is. In my quest to find the ultimate running shoe for me, I selected the Boost because of the design, it's bragging right of being one of the lightest running shoe to hit the market plus the foam like sole. I will say this, when the shoes arrived, I was not disappointed at all. They were everything Adidas boasted about and then some. They are light weight, roomy in the toe box for those of us with Flintstone feet (wide fat toes) and comfy to run in. I cannot speak on the inserts because I never use the manufacturers brand. I swop them out with my own pair I had RR custom fit for me.
As far as the performance of these running shoes for me, I literally shaved off six minutes of my 1/2 marathon time on a course that was way hillier than the course time I beat. I was so impressed by the Boost, I wound up purchasing a second pair.
One thing I noticed though, I've used the Boost in one 1/2 marathon. Usually throughout the course when I'm picking up speed I will heel strike. Why this is is beyond me when I normally fore foot strike. At any rate, I noticed some wearing on the outside of both heels. It's almost exposing the foam sole. So for you that heel strike, these running shoes will wear quickly on the sole.
I adore this shoe!
I'm an avid runner and triathlete and compete in everything from the local 5k to the marathon to the Ironman. A shoe junkie by nature, I own no less than 25 different pairs of running shoes (mostly Brooks, Nike, Newton, Hoka, Altra, Saucony, Asics, Mizuno) and on a whim I decided to try out the Adidas Energy Boost. After more than 100 miles, including the marathon attached to my Ironman, I can firmly state that I. LOVE. THIS. SHOE. I have no idea how Adidas managed to put so much responsiveness in such a cushioned, durable package... but they did. Every now and then I will run in one of my other pair of shoes and without fail, I return to my home and swap them out for the Energy Boost. Bottom line is that this new Adidas shoe just feels right. In regards to sizing. I normally wear a women's size 8 in most running shoes and I purchased an 8 in this shoe as well. In terms of length, the 8 is perfect and I would not want to size up. It's the width of the toe box that Adidas needs to work on. I got my first black toenail ever (pinkie toe) during the marathon portion of my Ironman. However, a black toenail is a small price to pay for amazing comfort. I have enjoyed this shoe so much that I just purchased the Adidas Adios Boost from RRS to use as a tempo and 1/2 marathon shoe (possibly open marathon too). I highly recommend the Adidas Energy Boost!
Everything it claims! I'm a long distance runner and burn through running shoes quickly, always looking for the best running shoe that encompasses all of the following; cushion, no knee pain, no rub, light weight. I love shoes that you forget you have on. I'm normally a neutral+ shoe buyer. I rotate between Nike Pegasus, Brooks Glycerin, and Asics Nimbus. I used to wear nothing but Saucony Kinvara's until I had lots of heal pain and needed to move into a more cushioned shoe. I missed the light weight feel of the Kinvara's though. This Adidas shoe is just that, I get all the comfort from the Pegasus and Nimbus but without all the weight. They feel so light weight when I run in them. Love the sock feel and was extremely impressed that I had absolutely no knee pain! I like the lower profile, never felt that I was rolling my feel out too much like when I wear the Nimbus. If you need cushion, reduce knee pain, and want that light weight/sock feel shoe...THIS IS IT!!!! Added bonus..the colors rock!!! The arch felt low and I need a higher arch, I always take out the sock liner and slip in my Super feet, so no problems.
Just ran Boston!
I have always worn Asics. This year's version of my shoe was wearing really fast and the ball of my foot was beginning to hurt. I kept seeing all the ads for the "Boost" line of shoes and thought I would check it out. One of the cardinal sins of running is never change gear before a race. I was set to run Boston this year and I was a month away. After trying the shoes on, I ordered a pair. I didn't like the first version I tried so I sent them back and got these in the mail. I took them out for a 10 miler the first day and my last long run (20 miles) B4 Boston the next day. They were awesome. So much cushion and response. They really did feel like I had an extra spring in my step. By the time I arrived in Boston, I had 95 awesome miles on them. The upper is soft and flexible which is key for my bunions. When I ran Boston, other than the rain and wind these shoes felt amazing. The downhills were no problem and the uphills felt easy. I am now switchig to Adidas for all my running shoes.
For the most part, it's a good shoe.
I felt the kickback from the new material used in this shoe, which is suppose to give you that energy boost. It was fine. I don't think it's anything to get too excited about, at least not until Adidas comes out with a revamped model that caters to this shoe's downfalls.
It felt more of a minimalist's shoe, and with my orthotics, it's more uncomfortable to run in. It might be something I'll get used to, but I never had that initial problem with my previous Asics and Sauconys.
It was also slightly narrow, the tongue was not wide enough to cover the loosened laces I needed to make it a comfortable fit. The material, however, was really nice.
All in all, it's a decent shoe. Probably not for me. I'm a normal runner, non-pronater, average about 15-20 miles a week. I need something with more cushion for the front part of my feet, not just the back.

Wow! Best Running Shoe I Ever Laced Up!
I just have to first of all thank my best friend (who is actually a very talented and avid runner) for suggesting these heavenly running shoes! Seriously though, my feet felt like they were running on heaven's clouds on my first trial run today in a typical Seattle, WA area downpour! I've only seriously started back running again about a year ago and with age have found that my feet are particularly fussy now. Although I have had some great success with Asics, Brooks, Saucony, and Nike, Adidas has really stepped up the game with these shoes in my opinion. It's going to be hard to go back to anything else after experiencing this level of comfort on today's run with these shoes! Great investment in my opinion!
Love at first step!
These shoes are the best! I have never worn Adidas but was intrigued by this new model. Immediately after trying these shoes on I was confident in the shoe enough to put it to the test the next day for a half marathon! They felt super. The shoes provide cushioning but also support. I did feel like I had a bit of an extra "spring" to my stride. Also I did not have the slight pain that I had been feeling after long runs in my prior shoes. I am about to order another pair of Adidas Energy Boost to have as a backup.

My new favorite thing!!!
Love the boost! Worth the wait for sure. I have previously worn brooks ghost and saucony progrid 5 both in a 9.5 so ordered same in the boost and actually had to exchange for a 9 and is still what I would call a tradition fit, as opposed to the sock like fit adidas intends. I definitely noticed the extra spring with these shoes. Very comfortable and nice amount of Cush in a lightweight package. I love the for love the look and am super happy this far. I am a sub 3 hour female marathoner and log a lot of road mileage.
Nor For Me
I had high hopes for this shoe. I must say, thought, that it's probably me. I have funky feet and have a hard time finding shoes that work. No matter how tight I cinched these down, my heels still slipped a bit. Which probably contributed to the heel pain. I haven't had heel pain in a long time, but the bottom of my heels hurt immediately. Even just walking in them hurts my heels. So, they just didn't work for me, but it seems I am in the minority.
Not for high arched feet
First of all, these shoes are expensive. So I expected more from this model. Nope. I have high arches and took these shoes on a supposed to be 23 mile run. I couldn't run more than 18 miles because my feet, especially the ball of my feet, started hurting. I read the reviews about this model being well cushioned. I don't agree. Maybe I just have finicky feet. I will go back to Nike Vomeros or other highly cushioned shoes.
I am loving the Boost as my neutral shoe after years with Brooks. I have been running up to 60+ miles per week in them without any issues, and plan to use them in my next marathon. They do fit snugly and I am more comfortable with a thinner sock. I also think they Are less breathable than running shoes with more mesh material. I am also concerned about how they will be for winter running, due to the material of the shoe.
I tried these shoes because Adidas widened the Supernova Glide. I'm so glad I tried them!!! The fit and feel are perfect for me. I even ran a 10K with a lot of grass side hill and was the only one of my friends that didn't have blisters from the event. I run around 35 miles a week and can't express enough how much I love these shoes! Road Runner Sports, please offer more of the colors!
These shoes were great in the cushioning department, however, the part of the shoe around the ankle - particularly at the back of my ankle- is stiff and quite high, so the shoe rubbed against my skin above my socks. It caused a blister within 20 minutes of just walking, so I was rather disappointed and had to send them back.
I am a hard heal striker when I run and I am feeling the concussion in these but my hips don't hurt after a run like they do in a more traditional sole. I'm still deciding whether cushioning or way of moving is more important. They don't have both.
Great shoe! Just make sure that you order a half size bigger than normal. Very light with amazing cushion. Not the best for trail running or cross training but I feel like I can run forever on pavement.
LOVE this shoe!
Love these shoes! Super lightweight, well cushioned yet I could still feel the road. I have a neutral foot and I think these are going to work very well for me. First running shoe I've been excited about in years!
Getting ready to buy my third pair of these. I get about 6 months, 500 miles out of every pair. I've trained in them and raced several marathons. Set a new Ironman world championships record wearing these shoes!
Just what I needed
During my first half marathon, my Brooks did great through 10 miles but failed to support my foot well for the remainder of the miles. These Adidas are light and I have not felt any foot pain on long runs.
best shoes for heal strikers
I always wear out a hole above the toe. This shoe has never gotten a hole. In fact its not even showing any wear at the toe.
Could be a 5 star if the toe box was wider.
Orange County, CA
Second pair. Love them!!
Amazing marathon shoe. Expensive but the fact that they don't wear out of even 1000 miles makes them cheap in cost per mile. This new technology is amazing!!
Light weight and comfy!
I love these! I am still in the process of breaking them in but so far I love them! I have about 50 miles so far. Hopefully they will last like they say they will.
Rochester, New York
So far they are among the most comfortable shoes I have worn.
Its only been a few weeks but they feel great and I am remembering why I used to love the Adidas fit!
run in the sun
Best shoe Adidas has made in eons!
I love this shoe. Its very responsive in the front. Lots of cushioning in the heal of the shoe, almost too much. Best shoe I've worn in years. Thanks Adidas.
