Comments about Mens adidas adizero Boston 4 Running Shoe:

This is a great update to the Boston 3's. The 4's are a bit softer(barely), and do have more cushion in the forefoot than the 3's. The upper is great. Shoe feels lighter than the 3's and lighter than the 9.2 oz my size 9's are. The shoe feels fast and firm.

You can use these as a good daily trainer or potential marathon shoe. Shoe feels more natural running at faster paces.

Too different from the Boston 3

Comments about Mens adidas adizero Boston 4 Running Shoe:

I trained for and ran in 4 marathons this past year going through several pairs of the Boston 3, and in fact I have used the Addida's Boston shoes since 1996 (in the pre-adizero days). The new Boston 4 is like some of the previous Boston versions that I didn't like too much. Compared to the 3, the cushioning in the 4 is noticeably better and the weight seems about the same. But, the top mesh of the new version to me is very uncomfortable and makes the shoe feel stiff and clunky. What I notice the most is the piece of material crossing over just in front of the laces over the toes really pushes down and pinches the top of my foot. The Boston 3's don't have this strip of material, which I never noticed until now. I also think that the new angle of the Addida's stripes on the mesh is less effective, the previous angle felt more comfortable as it wrapped around the side of the foot adding to a sense of arch support. Admittedly the Boston 3 was a bit narrow in the forefoot and even for me with a narrow foot it took getting used too. But, the wider fore in the 4's feels too open to me.

All in all, I was so dissapointed with the Boston 4, that I went to the store tried on some other light weight trainers and left with the Mizuno Sayanora's. There lighter and feel just as soft, and they fit my narrow foot better.
