Upgraded from 12oz to 20oz

4

My sister had given me a 12oz last year for a b-day gift. It quickly became indispensable to my on my runs here in FL. Over the 4th I left it at her house accidentally and knew I had to get another. With the heat this summer I decided to upgrade to a larger bottle. I don't like wearing anything or carrying anything so the ergonomic design of these are fantastic. One thing I do not like about the newer larger bottle is the inflexibility of the "pouch" material. rubs right at the base of my thumb. I rest my thumb at the top of the bottle/pouch attachment vs wrapping it around the torso of the bottle. Also, the pouch was made to be expandible to "hold more", iphone, keys, etc. The smaller one had a better material which was more flexible, this one is cumbersome and not very "plyable". Nice thought tho, just needs improvements on the material aspect of it. I cannot do without this item on my runs anymore. Thanks!!!

Amphipod Hydraform Handheld Thermal Lite

4

This handheld bottle from Amphipod is by far the best I have used. I have used various brands and find the Amphipod the most comfortable to run with. I have gone from getting cramps in my hand and thumb on longer runs to no cramps at all. This is due to the sleek well designed bottle and the adjustable strap that goes over your hand. The only slight difficulty is when trying to get the last few sips of water out of the bottle. Definitely only a slight negative though!, I will be purchasing another so I can do a straight change with the bottles when racing.

Improved my performance!

I use this as I train for my 1/2 marathons. Live in a hot climate, and belts are hot and I always find myself messing with their fit and getting the bottles in and out. I have small hands, but this was still no issue for me to use and I love it. Easy to grab a drink and not have to mess with my belt. The small pocket on it is perfect for energy items like GU, or even a small phone. Highly recommend as it really frees you up on a small run and you can keep your focus on your pace.

Comfortable but strap comes off

2

I loved this bottle when I first filled it up, slipped it into my hand and went running. It's very comfortable, I like the color (visibility), and it holds a good amount of water without being too weighty. But I've used it several times now, and each time I've had to struggle with the black strap at the bottom sliding off of the bottle. In the middle of a run, the last thing needed is to be trying to slip the strap back on the bottle. I think a small lip on both sides of the bottle would have prevented this. As I said, I liked it at first, but I wouldn't buy another because of this flaw.

Leaks at the spout

2

Comfortable to hold, and strap adjusts well to hand. Can put electrolytes or a few $$ in strap, but not much else. Problem is that it leaks from the spout. Squeezing causes it to squirt all over. Cannot put it in a race bag before a race as it leaks everywhere. You have to carry it at all times. And you cannot just swap lid with another bottle. The threads are slightly different. I'm still looking for a good quality hand-held bottle. Even for nearly $20, the quality of the bottle is poor.

Great for smaller hands too.

I bought this for my 1st half-marathon training and have carried it in 2 since then. I wanted something lightweight but still carried a good supply of fluid. I've had not problems with the bottle leaking or slipping out of the holder (2 things I've had issues with others). The zippered pocket is also ample (I carry my pepper spray, Chapstick, key and a gel pack- which is the only reason it feels heavy at times. I will be searching this brand for my next purchase.

Nice handheld bottle!

4

I was using the smaller FuelBelt bottle, which only holds 10 oz, and found this bottle fits great and holds 20z of fluid. Great for longer runs when you don't have a water fountain to refill. I agree with the previous comment, it can be a little tough to open/close the bottle, you have to bite down and pull pretty hard, but nothing more than that. Pouch is great, holds a lot more than smaller bottle holders. I would buy this again.

Great while it lasted.

3

I used this bottle a half dozen times. Really enjoyed not having to grip the bottle while I ran. Bottle is somewhat insulated which is nice. Large opening which made it easy to fill. Now the bad. I fell during a trail run and the rubber strap broke. The strap is not very thick. I tend to be hard on gear. I will not purchase again given the price. You may have better luck or be less clumsy than me.

Difficult to remove the insulator/pouch

3

The bottle is well design and fit very well in the palm. It feels light and doesn't bounce like the belt type. The pouch has good size for a few cards/IDs/cash, and key fob. The only complain I have about this product is the pouch & insulator is very difficult to remove/put it back in. I usually put energy drink in it and I need to clean the whole thing every time after use, and that's pretty much the pain. The strap is not elastic enough (but that makes it tightly grip to the bottle).

Better than a belt

4

I used it for a fall long run. I think a belt might hold more if needed, but this was adequate for fall weather. A lot handier than trying to get a bottle in/out of a belt. Glad its adjustable because my hand got a little numb! Also the pocket is great for holding a key or id- not big enough for a phone.

Terrific way to hydrate!

5

I really love the design of this bottle - I have small hands and was struggling to find something I could carry on a run and not keep dropping. This bottle has an adjustable strap that stays put and keeps my hand from getting slippery or cold! A most excellent choice.

Great shape..just needs bigger zip pouch

4

I like the shape in my hand when I run and love the green! I do wish the pouch was nylon and expanded differently..a phone wouldn't fit very well in it but it's great for a snack and key. The handle has very soft fabric against the back of the hand so it's very comfortable to carry.

Comfortable when not full.

4

I like the Amphipod Hydraform Handheld but when it is full my hand slides to the top and it is kind of uncomfortable. I have small hands so this may not be the hydration handheld for me. I will come back and review again after using it a bit more.

Holds water very well

5

This is a great handheld for holding water. Doesn't leak. Doesn't have a nasty plastic smell/flavor. Neoprene sleeve helps keep water cold and does something with my sweat so I don't notice it while running.

Great grip and ergonomics!

4

I like the form and the fit! I used it for the first time in a 1/2 marathon and it worked well. I don't usually carry a water bottle so this needed to be just right - it was!!

Best Bottle Ever

Best running bottle ever. Lightweight, easy to grip on long runs and the pocket in the handle makes carrying the little essentials, boogie wipes, carkey, lozenges effortless.
