I have always run in the Kayano and loved the Kayano X the best. This new model is killing me- forefoot cushioing is stiff the toe box seems tight. I have developed plantar faciatis running in these shoes, a problem I solved 20 years ago. I want the X back! Does anyone know about the new Asisc just out- the Kinsei?

I am NOT a heavy runner with low to medium arches- I'm 5'4, 118#, with very high arches, and this is the most comfortable shoe i've worn. I wore everything Nike until my knees told me I needed something with motion control- and Nike makes NO SUCH THING. These shoes are definitely the heaviest I've owned, but the cushioning is great, and my knees have felt better since the first time I ran in these (well, ok, maybe not from the minute I started running in them, but after 2 weeks, I am almost pain-free again). I hesitated to buy these because of the price, but they were a worthwhile investment and I highly recommend them!

I've been a Kayano fan for years and these are my fav'! I run an average of 35-45 miles a week and this shoe keeps on ticking. The shoe speaks for itself- such a smooth ride, they'll let you know when it's time to replace them. I do recommend jumping up .5 of a size. They tend to run small. Enjoy!

I have lots of shoes to rotate but keep coming back to this as my favorite. Since I have a neutral left foot but overpronate in my right, these strike the balance of giving enough support for my right foot without overdoing it on the left. Supportive, flexable and, in spite of their weight, feel spry and bouncy, Great shoe.

Overall a good shoe. I'm 170 and run approx 40 miles per week. I haven't found anything out there I like better. I agree with others that there could be better forefoot cushoning. Something to work on with the XII's.

I had these for about 5 weeks and now I no longer use them. My feedback: First, they are the most comfortable running shoe I have ever put on. Feel great, great cushion, etc. However, for me I think they have too much cushion, especially in the heel. I developed achillies pain from these shoes. I switched to Brooks Adrenaline GTS5 and the pain totally went away. The ASICS are very nice, and very well built and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a lot of cushion. They are just not for me.

Excellent shoe! I have had both the 10 and now the 11. I think the 11 is a little firmer which works out great for me. I highly recommend!!!

It appears that some of the reviewers seem a bit disapointed in this shoe. I Love this shoe! Cushion and stability are blended together via cutting edge tehnology to produce this incredable shoe. To the person who posted that his doctor told him to throw out the shoes. Perhaps your doctor is drunk again and unable to give a proper diagnosis. May I suggest a second opinion by a qualified podiotrist. These shoes I'm sure do not work for everyone but by just looking and then subsequently going for a run in these shoes will tell you the thought and high quality workmanship that went into every aspect of this shoe! Thanks Asics!!!!

Kayano is suppose to be a stability shoe with maximum cushion. The XI has less stability and less forefoot cushio than its predecessors. I feel that in the redesign Asics is trying to be all things to all runners. The XI has contributed to plantar fasciitis. The heel is great, the fit is great, however, the sole is not anymore durable than the X. Luckily I have a few X's left.

Great shoe! Trained for Grandma's 1/2 in Saucony Hurricane 7's (shoes were good for 200 miles, THAT'S IT) and swiched to GEL- Kayano XI prior to the race. Not as soft as the Hurricane, but seem to be more durrable and just as suportive. Should make it through TwinCities training on one pair plus pair for the marathon.
