Great stabilitiy shoe. I like trying new shoes and decided to be a different kind after putting 400+ miles on a pair of GEII's. Big mistake. ITB started to get irritated again. Went back to a new pair of these and bam! Back to normal again. Love this shoe!

This is a really good shoe once broken. I am 6'2 and about 185 lbs. and this suits my running very well.

Too narrow in the toe box, and the last forces the small toe inwards, which in my case has produced calluses, a first ever for any of my running shoes. Also, the upper does not allow the foot to expand because the silver piping, which is part of the lacing system, prevents the foot from spreading out at impact.

These shoes are great for me, 5'11" 175 lbs male. I use orthotics and fit the "late stage pronator" profile - my feet tend to point outwards. Ever since the Gel Creed Plus I have a shoe I can run in as much as I want without the nagging little injuries. I tried to save some $$ by checking out the lastest GT-2XXX, but within 150 miles I was feeling shin splints (they did ok except for long 12+ mile runs), so I went back to the Gel Empire II and problems went away. GOLD!!!

Every bit as good as the Empire I. I have had fewer injuries running in the empire series than any other shoe. The heel cup fit is excellent. If you are medium build with low-ish arches there is no better road shoe.

I'm a runner of 32 years experience, 6', 155lbs. and use rigid orthotics. The Empire II has provided the finest supportive cushioning I've ever experienced with my orthotics. It has allowed me to expand my long mileage without any of the injury potential of softer shoes or aches of stiffer shoes. Thanks Asics, for the best running shoe I've ever found!
In my opinion the Empire is actually Asics "Stability Plus" shoe and the Kayano should be in the "Stability" category; another good shoe, but not a supportive as the Empire.

Bought this shoe based on research recommendation. To date, since I bought this shoe, Two months now, this has been one of my better owned shoes. I use shoe for mixture of walking/slow running/ Treadmill. 6'0 300lbs, so I recommend shoes for heavier guys.

worse Asics shoe I ever bought in the past 20 yrs. It is far to stiff and straight laced. Only attribute is its light weight.
