I use this shoe in winter on a graded dirt trail. This shoe is a bit snugger than other Asics, which I like. I am a heavy runner (190 lbs) and this shoe has held up very well. It is a rugged shoe with good stability and sufficient cushion. It does not feel "cushiony", but I have had great joint comfort and a shoe without sufficient cushion I can always tell in my knees and hips. I am only a "casual" runner (20 miles per week) and this shoe has performed very well for me. The shoe also is not ventilated which is what I want for winter, including good protection for a inch or two of snow.

This shoe is junk. First set the treds on the heel started detaching near the 40 mile mark on trails and deformation of the jel pads. Second set tread detaching again on the external heel only after 50 miles of trail and deformation in the heal area padding. The lacing system is not comfortable but from the eagle they have more padding in the heel area. When the shoes break down they do it fast. I will now be on my third pair in two months (90 day policy) but Asics needs to clen up their act before I would consider any other shoe from them. This is as crappy as you can get.

The shoe is too narrow overall. I am concerned if I size up (as specified) that I will not get the additional width and I really do not need the additional length.

Definately inferior to Eagle Trail. Poor construction, reading other reviews wondering if quality a developing issue for Asics. Been loyal over 20 years.

Bought two of these and both developed flaws. tread detaching and deformation in the heal padding. Loved the old trail shoe which was replaced by this one

I loved this shoe...it was just too narrow in the toebox. I second the need for varying widths. If they came with a wider toebox there would be none better.

This is a great shoe. I run trails, roads, dirt paths and this shoe works well in all conditions, including snow and ice. I have narrow feet and I don't get any heel slip. I'd like a little larger toe box. This shoe does not ventalate well so feet get hot.

Please Bring back the Eagle Trail. The Sensors lacing system is sub par and put too much pressure on the top of the foot. I ran through 12 pairs of Eagle trails on multiple Ultra Marathons but can't run in the Sensors.

This shoe is great! I wear it to run on hard surfaces as well as trail; in both cases it functions fantastically. I had heel problems until using this shoe. I highly recommend this shoe.

I love Asics, but definitely not these. A Hard motion control shoe that really doesn't work. I feel like they stuck a trail sole on road uppers and called it good. Makes me feel that my feet are angled. Wore them for a few runs and my upper ankle is killing me.

Just wanted to add my interest in seeing this shoe with a wider toe box. The shoe fit well in every other area, but is too cramped on the big toes. Addidas Supernova trail fits me just fine, but does not offer the additional cushoning, and more solid feel of this shoe. However good fit is essential, so I am sorry that this shoe is just a hair too narraow. The problem is it tapers in and down from top to bottom just a little too much which pushes in on my big toe more than I would like.

My first trail shoe after running only in Kayanos, and it is great. I highly recommend them.

Not enough lateral room in the toe box. Wish it came in widths. An otherwise excellent shoe - particulary suited for rocky trails.

This may be my favorite running shoe ever. Love it so much I am thinking of trying in on pavement as well.

This is a great shoe. Had a pair of Asics Eagle Trail's which I liked very much. Stability, which is paramount in trail shoes, is that much better in this shoe than in the Eagle Trail.

I love this shoe because of the split heel and 4 Gel pods. Very cushioned and durable. Only drawback was the laces didn't stay tight even with a double knot. Upgrade to SureLace will cure that.

I've had six 8 mile trail runs with this shoe and am thoroughly satisfied with it's permormance. Outstanding on the uphills, extreme downhills and flats. You won't regret purchasing this shoe.
