Great shoe all around. I ran in the snow for nearly 5 months in Northern Michigan and the shoe handled great. I love the 2100 series running shoes. I currently have 650 miles on my pair and they still feel good although close to retirement. Ready to get another.

I am an Asics wearer, and generally love their shoes. I'm a recreational (25 miles/wk, 2-5 halfs a year) runner and enjoy trail running around Denver. I've had two pairs of these shoes and both times the outer layer of the sole started falling off within the first 10-30 miles. Both pairs were brand new from the store and didn't sit in the closet before use. I would never try another pair.

I gave these 3 stars. I'm an Asics fan, and these do pretty well for me regarding comfort, fit, and running performance. However, I got these trail shoes mainly for long outings with my dogs, often through wet woods and fields, so I was mostly interested in the water resistant uppers. After the first time I went 10 meters through a dewy field, however, my feet were totally soaked. I guess they are water resistant compared to sandals. Next purchase will be a Gore-Tex lined shoe. I'm still an Asics fan for my main running shoes.

I agree with another review. They feel great but are not meant for trails - as in the other Asics's series, these develop holes through the fabric after 40 or so miles of trail running. On the roads or treadmills they work great. Wish Asic's would build a better shoe for trails - based on a trail runner who is switching my trail shoes to Soloman's

These are my 1st. pair of Asics and I love them. I have owned them for two months now. They seem to be the perfect balance between weight, durability, and comfort for a trail shoe. They are great from running on a track to climbing a steep trail. I just hope they keep this model for a long time.

These shoes are not rugged enough for trails. After less than 15 miles on mountain trails the toe box collapsed and pinched my big toe. I sent them back. They were my first trail shoes. I wear the non trail version (2110) and they hold up much better.

These shoes are great! First pair of trail shoes I have ever purchased. I am 185, 6' and run about 20 miles per week, of which around 10 are on trails. These fit exactly the same as their 2000 series running cousins. The "nubs" on the soles are fantastic for going down hills. They really grab the dirt and make you feel much more in control. These also have quite a bit of extra cushioning as compared to the road version. Overall I am very pleased!

Just ran a Marathon from Avesbury to Stonehenge, UK, and they worked really well. The traction depth is perfect to provide grip without holding too much mud, which there was plenty of. We primarily ran through fields where sheep graze. They also didn't hurt my feet. Previously I've ran a marathon with DS Trainers and they just killed my feet. The GT 2110's are my normal long distance shoe and the 2130 held up just as well. Only caution is to try them on first. I sized up 1/2 and they felt loose around my heel. Otherwise, a solid shoe.
