Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

Really love the Asics. This is the first time in the Kayano's. As a previously reviewer mentioned they seem to really hurt through the top of the foot. I did a bit of research and changed the way I laced as for a "high instep", seemed to help. However, I will be going back to the 1100 series.

Much better than the Kayano 13,12, and 11.
Finally Asics put the cushioning and support back in their shoes and I've had no problems with plantar fascitis with the 14. My achilles stiffness even decreased with these shoes.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

I have been wearing Asics products for about 6 years and the Keyano 14's are by far the worst shoe that I have ever owned. My last 4 pairs were 13's and I had no problems other then discomfort on the top of my foot under the laces as the shoes aged. I am under 120lbs and have always been a mid to forefoot striker with a very light foot strike. The 14's are so stiff that I now sound like a draft horse when my feet hit the ground. I had to go up a half size in length to keep my toes from banging on the end but the shoe is way too roomy; I am sliding forward in them and up and down. I tried a narrow width in a store but felt that they pinched in the forefoot. I hope the 15's are better as this may be my last pair of Asics! Such a disappointment at over $200 Canadian.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

I have worn Asics Kayano's for 15+ years. The design of the Kayano 14 with the narrower heel was a huge problem for me and caused blistering and bleeding. Altogether, this model was too narrow and too rigid of a shoe for me. Kayanos have always been a good fit for me, otherwise, because of the narrower toe box. Therefore, I'd recommend the 14 only if you have a narrower foot - not just average width. I hope that the 15s are better!!

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

The Kayano 14s were a bit of a disappointment for me. I had two pairs of the Kayano 13s, which I loved! They have changed the design on the 14s, the heel seems more narrow, it rubs slightly and overall fit is different from the 13s. They are still a good shoe but in my opinion a step down in comfort from the 13's.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

I just ran 4 miles in these shoes and they are fantastic. I have a neuroma in a toe, so I have to be really careful with picking my shoes. I have had the Kayano 11s, and 12s. Then I switches to Nike. Big mistake. I have come back and I am impressed. They are lightweight and very supportive. I over-pronate and these keep my foot in a great position. Even if they don't hold up as long--as several reviews have said--they are well worth it at this discounted price.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

These are the best shoes i have ever owned! i had the GT-2120's before and i lovers them as well, but they didn't take care of my legs. i had shin splits for about 6 months with them, but after I got the gel kayano 14's the shin splints went completely away. i've never gotten those painful splints back again either. :) also, i'm now coming back from a broken foot, and they treating my feet amazingly. no pain from the shoes whatsoever. they're pretty light and even better with my superfeet insoles.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

these shoes are definitely not worth they hype - or the $. They are pretty heavy and don't seem extra cushioned. They were initially well padded, but heavy, but broke down at about 250 miles. The padding around the heel gave out and there is a hard plastic piece in the heel that - without the padding - causes bruising on the inside of the foot in between the arch and heel.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

I have a herniated disc in my back, so I have to be pretty careful about the shoes I choose. I've run in Nike's, Asics and Mizuno's. The Asics have consistently been better shoes and the Gel Kayano has always felt great right out of the box. Great stability and just enough cushioning. Including a gel insole insert makes the shoe fit perfectly!

had kayano 12. used it for 1 half marathon and 1 full marathon for 2 years. read the review for 14 (bad review) and tried NIKE shoes. it was good for a few months and started have knee pain. did not last for long, and decided to try 14.
it is very comfortable shoes as 12. I love it. it does not hurt at all when I do speed running. it is awesome!
take home message.
you cannot trust other's review, since everyone's feet are different. you need to try.
I did, and I like it.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

What is Asics doing? Their shoes get worse with each new model. The sizing is completely off; I used to be able to wear a women's 13 (which BTW I had to get at Onlineshoes becaue RRS does NOT carry the largest size for women), but now that fits a FULL SIZE too small. I ran a short 4-miler and I could feel my toes pushing to the front, so I know it would never last for a long run. Also the ride was unbelievably hard. Solyte is worthless! I am going to try NB next time around.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

There are better shoes out there, but I sitll think this one is up there on the list. I liked the Chocolate option since too many shoes seem to be the same, dull, blue color these days. I've had them for a couple of months now, the shoes lasting longer than I expected -- alhtough the weight of them (heavy side) lead me to think they may be durable. They still have cushion despite their high milage. A good choice for anyone willing to pay over $100 on their shoes. In the spirit of full disclosure, ASICS are my only brand, btw.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

I've run 7 marathons in gel kayanos, but this is the first pair to ever give me Horrible blisters. The heel support seemed better at first, but for some reason, my toes seem to slide up further in front....I lost one toenail on a 10 mile run, then got 3 blisters during 13 mile, 14 mile and 16 mile training runs. I didn't change socks or anything else. This style seems to have problems the others (and I've been wearing them at least 6 years) never had.

Comments about Womens ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Running Shoe:

I've worn Kayanos for 9 years with no problems but the 14 has a completely unnecessary fabric color change on the inside ankle, and therefore a seam that creates a hideous rub point. I thought it may soften with use but hasn't and I'm now scouring the internet for a pair of 13s to wear in for an upcoming marathon. A foolish design decision from an otherwise design-wise company.

had kayano 12. used it for 1 half marathon and 1 full marathon for 2 years. read the review for 14 (bad review) and tried NIKE shoes. it was good for a few months and started have knee pain. did not last for long, and decided to try 14. it is very comfortable shoes as 12. I love it. it does not hurt at all when I do speed running. it is awesome! take home message. you cannot trust other's review, since everyone's feet are different. you need to try. I did, and I like it.

This is the best running shoe I have had. Plenty of cushioning and support especially in the heel area.

These shoes and the 13's are HORRIBLE. I've been wearing asics gel kayano for the last 6 years and I've never felt anything worst than these and the 13's. They look good and that's where it ends. The 12's were fantastic and it went down hill after that. Asics needs to stop focusing on the look and start focusing on the comfort.

I've been wearing Kayano's for years. These are the worst. Heel blisters and tight feel made me give up on them after a month. I just got the Kayano 11 classic from a few years ago. Straight out of the box they were some much better. My run toniht was great.

A welcome improvement over prior editions and brands. Good stability - I have narrow heels and loose ankles, and they're well supported. However, the cushioning tends to wear out after only a few months of light running.

The 13's hurt my feet and shins so bad, I was reluctant to try these but I'm glad I did! What a difference between the two -- the 14's are like running on air! Well worth the extra $$.

I have been in asics for 4 years the 12's were awesome 13 was terrible --kept making red sore bump on the top of my foot wear the tongue of the shoe was-- on long runs. The 14's are a DREAM--foot feels totally cushioned--especially on top and after 4 marathons so far this year and a ragnar relay, every pair I have worn has been great!!

I switched from GT 2000's to Gel 3000- which I hated. Gel 3000 was too wide @ forefoot and felt very rigid. my feet were in so much pain after 30-40miles. kayano saved my feet.. love the cushion! thank you!!

This is my first Gel shoe by Asics. I decided to spend a little more money as I am now an actual runner and love them!! Great cushiony feel, my big toe doesn't go numb when I do the eliptical, great comfort when running. I will definately buy again!!

My third pair, and first 14. What a disappointment after the previous two. The fit seems to have changed; perhaps it is the additional cushioning. In any event, these are tight in the width and make the outside bottom of my foot hurt - I never have problems with width in any of my shoes. Whatever they changed, I hope they change it back, otherwise I will be hunting for a new shoe.

Agree with review by MM, and wish I had seen it before I ordered! I've been wearing Kayanos for years, and the 14 is different. Uncomfortable after 1/2 mile! Thankfully, they went back in the box and were returned to RRS.

I'm sorry to say the fit of this shoe has changed and it doesn't work for me. I've been wearing Gel-Kayanos for years, this is my 5th pair, so I'm disappointed. Try first. Buyer beware.

Love this shoe! Had toenail issues with the 12s and 13s (13s more so). This version seems to have more room in the toebox without feeling sloppy everywhere else. Great cushioning. Super comfortable right out of the box.

I have worn Kayano's for 15 years and this is by far the best ride I've ever had! Nice and roomy in the toe box and plenty of cushioning for my almost 50 year old knees. I hope Asics doesn't mess with this model anytime soon.

I, too, am training for a 1/2 marathon and being brand new to this I hit the running store to get fit. It turned out to be the best thing I could do. After zeroing in on this model, it turned out my best fit was to go up a whole size! I'm buying my next pair right now. I'll be retiring the "old" shoe to everyday wear because it's still so incredibly comfortable.

Tried these as my first real sneaker investment, because I'm training for a a half marathon: big mistake. Wore terrible blisters on insides of my heels. Another reviewer mentioned the inner-ankle padding, which I agree is problematic--felt like my achille's tendon was being pinched.

neophyte runner and my $20 shoes were killing my L knee (s/p ACL tear and medial meniscus arthroscopy 20 yrs ago w/o repair). first run made my L 3rd toe numb but after that my feet and knees are pretty happy. i'm 5'4", 140# w/ wide feet, run on trails and asphalt, about 10-15 mi/wk.

These shoes are heaven! I've been running in Asics for quite a few years, after New Balance stopped making the 854's, I switched. I've been running in the 11's that they made a "classic" b/c I didn't care for the 12's or 13's (way too narrow) I put the 14's on and ran 7 miles! They have more cushion than the 11's but not too soft and the toebox is wonderful, no blisters! I could run in these shoes forever! Thank you Asics!!! Please don't change these!

I loved the 13s and thought I would love these. I have a 9.5 in the 13s, which fit great. Ordered the same size in the 14s,but they felt too tight and shorter. Plan to send back for another pair of the 13s.

I have loved and worn asics for 8 years now. Up to this point they have totally rocked for my 10 narrow feet. The new PHF is horrible - HORRIBLE. The pad on the inner ankle is unbearable. No more asics for me til they do away with that.

ok, this is by far the best running shoe i have every owned. the cushioning, the fit and comfort are well worth the price. i love rrs' 60 day guarantee, but this is definitely one shoe that will not go back. the 13's were good, but the 14 is definitely better.

I have been wearing the Asics Gel-kayano for more than 4 yrs. switched from NB to Asics. I thought I found heaven with my first pair and I guess I did. The kayano 11 and 12 were awesome. The thirteen terrible fit and I thought I would try the 14 thinking they must have corrected since the 13 got such negative review. These shoes gave me shin splints after only a 3 mile tred-mil run. I'm returning for my probably 10th pair of the Kayano 11! I am 5'8'' tall 115 lbs. run approximately 30-35 miles per week

I haven't had a running shoe fit this well in years. I agree with the other reviews...nice roomy toe box, excellent fit around the heels and superb support right right out of the box. Having knee/foot issues, the Kayano 14's are my first pair of Asics. (I believe I finally found the perfect running shoe!) It's so nice to finally be running in comfort from start to finish!

I have been running in the Nimbus for years. I tried on the Nimbus-9 and was not happy with the changes, so I switched to the Kayano. What a great shoe! The stability helps to correct my left foot pronation and there is still enough cushioning - not quite as much as the Nimbus, but its still great. This shoe has also eliminated my arch cramps! I will buy again :)

I was on my third pair of 13s, and thought I'd try the 14s out-these still have that awesome heel fit, and the toe box seems roomier than the 13s. The gel base is outstanding. My corunners are all jealous already! DO get a half size up. Another excellent shoe that I will be running my next marathon in.
