Nothing but blisters and blew my nail on my big toe all within three weeks. Absolutely the worst pair of Gel Nimbus that I have used since this series as started.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

WOW! I've tried them all. Every major brand and shoe out there. Spent tons of money. Bought dozens of running shoes ... looking for perfection. And these are maybe the BEST EVER. When I run in them, my knees don't ache. My back doesn't hurt. And the "next day" - "day after" soreness - is seriously diminished. Why? Beautiful blend of cushioning and stability. Love the cushioning. Swear I run further and faster because of it. FINALLY ... THE NEAR PERFECT RUNNING SHOE.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

The most expensive pair of shoes I have bought and probably the worst value. Too wide in the forefoot giving little stability. The asymmetric lacing is pointless, doesnt allow equal tension down the foot and adds to the forefoot problem. Feels very flat and unresponsive with little cushioning effect. I will try something else next time after several years with ASICS.

6'5", 200 pounds, this is a great shoe for the long distance runner. I run primarily marathons and half marathons, and this shoe is one of the best Asics I've worn. Better than the 8 and 9s. Great job, good snug fit, nice improved lacing. I'll buy more of these before stepping up to the 11s.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

I have a narrow foot. The heel is well cushioned and wide but, seems to sit lower than what I'm used to in an Adistar. The middle fits snug although the laces cinch closer to the toe rather than the back towards the ankle. The toebox is large, to much room. I don't believe I would purchase this running shoe again unless, there is an upgrade.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

I like this shoe allot. Only had it 1 month but I am happy thus far. I think the gel in the soles really help absorb shock, and also the $20 replacement inside pad is worth it. I am not happy about this product and many more being produced in China, and sold for high retail here in the States. I think we become used to things being made in China, while U.S citizens are losing jobs for corporate greed. When i find a quailty shoe made in the U.S. i will support them.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

I've been a fan of the gel-nimbus series, but just got a new pair of 10s and the ankle wall is high and painful. I had a pair of 10s before and they were fine, but these are definitely different. After I noticed, I saw this same comment on another site, so I think it is definitely an issue with some 10s. I will try to go back to the 9s or find a different shoe.

The new asymmetrical lacing was very uncomfortable. My big toes consistently rubbed against the shifted seam, causing a lot of discomfort. I had to return them. I hope they go back to a more conventional lacing system. I've worn the Nimbus for years. Had to switch to the Brooks Infinity. Much like the wheel, don't reinvent the lacing system.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

I'm not much of a jogger or runner. I typically walk and stand on concrete and asphalt all day. I'm 5'8" about 190lbs and I have a more narrow foot. I got the Nimbus 9's a year ago because I was trying to walk about 2 miles a day. The $20 shoes I had did not cut it. After shopping Road Runner Sports, I ended up with the Nimbus 9's and never looked back. The 9's lasted about a year or so, with rotation between 2 pairs.
I was skeptical about the 10's after reading some reviews here that they fit different from the 9's. I guess it depends on your foot and the specific pair you get cause mine fit like a glove. I loved my 9's and the 10's do not disappoint. I cannot remember exactly what the 9's felt like new, but I know the 10's feel awesome.
If you already Have the Asics Nimbus 9 and you like them, these should be right up your alley. If you have never tried the nimbus before, I'd give them a test drive in the store first.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

Recommend this shoe only for the relatively short-distance runner. I read (and appreciated) both negative and positive reviews here and decided to take a chance because I really liked the Nimbus 9. To accommodate the smaller toe box of the Nimbus 10, I bought a half size larger even than my usual Nimbus 9. 100 miles and one half-marathon later, the results are in--even with the larger size, the smaller toe box has left bruised toes on runs over 9 miles. No other complaints but that's enough, and I won't buy this shoe again.

I am 5'10, 148lb, 33-42 miles per week. I am alternating my 3rd and 4th pair of Gel Nimbus 10 now, using them for long runs, track, hills and races including a Marathon. After I bought them 1/2 size up and 2E, I have had no problems. The slight arch support is perfect for me, much better than the NB 882 I used before.

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

I have worn out many pairs of Asics Kayano also one pair of Kinsei. I needed the extra stability and pronation support of the Kayano. Now when I am a more experienced runner, I have a more straight stride and as I run faster I land on the entire foot vs. the heels as in the past. Nimbus feels equally cushioned but more neutral which gives a better feeling when running. Complement with a pair of DS-Trainer for marathon races and a pair of DS-Racer for half marathon races and for intervall training on the track.

By Christy

from Undisclosed

Comments about Mens ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10 Running Shoe:

I ran a five miler in this shoe today, after I wore it around yesterday for twenty minutes and had some mild discomfort on the top of my right foot, near my big toe.(Possibly from the new lacing system?)I fiddled around and tried to loosen up the laces yesterday when I experienced the discomfort, but I guess it didn't help much, because when I ran today, I felt the discomfort, that quickly turned into pain, from the beginning of my run all the way to the end. I was very disappointed, because I was hoping I'd found the perfect shoe for me, As they've discontinued the New Balance 851s I've been running in for the past twelve years. The cushioning is very good, though and my plantar problem wasn't an issue at all. Before I write these shoes off though, I will try taking my orthotic out and putting the original back in and see if that helps. Lots of compliments on the colors and design of the shoes! Hopefully they just need broken in a little more; we'll see...

Great shoe overall. Asics has the best lasts imo and as usual the fit of this shoe is amesome. Very smooth heel to toe transition, plush Gel heel and very well constructed. The one area that could be improved is the forefoot cushioning, but it's still fairly plush. Also, for a shoe with such a cushioned ride they still manage to be fairly responsive. Not perfect, but very nice indeed.

I have put 150 miles on these shoes and they have performed admirably. I had worn several Nimbus models but had to go away from the N9 after getting blisters on the inside of both arches. There was too much space for my foot. The Cumulus was a good substitute. I was weary about trying the N10, but I can say that the blister problem is gone.

I bought my first pair of Nimbus a year and a half ago prior to being stride and strike tested. It turns out that Nimbus was exactly the kind of shoe I should be wearing. I am getting ready to buy my fourth pair for an upcoming half marathon. Completely confident in this shoe for comfort during all types of runs, and for comfortable leg and foot recovery after races. The key was in making sure this was the right shoe for my stride and strike.

Over 40 years as a long-distance runner with the last 20 or so being devoted to Asics. I enjoyed the Nimbus series through #9. #10 has a narrow toe box that accentuates my bruised toes following a long run. #9 was a great model. I know they keep changing models to entice us to buy a new product, but in the case of #10 they may have "shot themselves in the foot." Please go back to #9 and then leave the design alone.

Just received my Nimbus 10's. What a disapointment. They are not even close to the Nimbus 9's. The toe box was extremely tight and the entire shoe was on the snug side. Way different than the 9's. Been wearing Nimbus for years and this is the worst one yet. Even worst that the 8's which was a mediocre shoe. Can't understand how Asics could even come out with these. They must have people that test them before production. Am returning them and waiting for the 11's when they come out in May. My opinion only buy don't buy them.

The toe box has been changed from the previous Nimbus models. Instead of being soft and roomey, the Nibus 10s have a asymetrical stitching that offers toes friction points on longer runs. Looking forward to the next Nimbus where they go back th the tried and true design that offer less seams that create potential friction points. I need a new pair, but will switch to another brand and see if ASICS gets rid of the goofy asymetrical toe box and lacing.

I was undecided after the first 2 runs, 9 and 10 miles. Decided on last run- 15 miles. Shoe is sloppy in the forefoot and heel. It lacks forefoot cushioning for a "premium" priced shoe. I guess if I had short fat feet in both the forefoot and heel and didn't need any forefoot cushioning it would be a decent shoe. Bottom line- premium priced shoe with mid-level cushioning and entry level fit. Oh, and what's with all the cheesy looking plastic?

Excellent shoe. I haven't owned a pair of Asics for about 15 years since they were always too narrow and the shoes would develop a hole where my pinky toe rubbed. I've owned Mizunos, Brooks, Nike, Saucony, etc... (I also wanted to be different, and since EVERYBODY had Asics, I stayed away) This shoe was too good to pass up. My Brooks Glycerin 5's kept giving me heel pain, and my first run on the Nimbus 10 on the treadmill (with my heels still hurting from the Glycerin's), my heel pain went away during the run.. Whoo Hoo!! So far, have run 15 miles in them with no pain. They have just the right amount of cushion- not too cushy like the Vomero's... just right.

I was wearing adistar, till they broke twice in the heel. I think it was a defective pair first and received free a second one. The Formotion capsule broke again. So I looked for a similar shoe and found this one. This shoes are great. They break in very fast and feel very, very comfortable for me. First time I try Asics and was impressed. Much better quality than adistar.

I *love* this shoe, which is strange because I almost sent it back. When I first put it on, I thought I'd sized it too small. The asymetrical lacing made me feel like my big toe was rubbing, but that soon passed as the shoe broke in. I've run Asics products for nearly 20 years, and this is the "best in show". 6'1", 195 lbs, neutral to moderate pronator. I run with the Superfeet replacement insole. -Paul in DC-

I have to agree with Arnaud. I am VERY disappointed with ASICS' new design for the shoe. I have run in the Nimbus 5, 6, etc... and love the shoes - it is all I run in. I have large feet and normally wear a size 14 and require a wide toe box. For whatever reason, ASICS has turned the Nimbus into a pointier toe box - I guess ergonomic lacing. I just ordered a Nimbus 9 that will last me for about 5 months. I am thinking about stock piling a few pairs, or otherwise I am going to have to switch to another ride. If you do not need the width in the toe box, then the shoe is still a great ride, but if the width is an issue, buy something else.

I've been running in ACISC for years. Usually I buy the DS trainer but was dissappointed with the lsat version. I found this shoe light and responsive but quite stable. I run 75 miles per week and went through 5 pairs of 9's and loved them. This shoe is good but not quite as nice as the last version specifically because of the oddball lacing system and smaller toebox. The ride is good with nice heel to toe transitions and slightly better forefoot cushioning. I do notice more rapid treadwear in the heel strike area on the sole.

I want to help those out who were like me and hated the 9's which often caused blisters on the inside's of your feet (many times the right foot) after 4-5 milers. These Nimbus 10's are MUCH better and I no longer have blister issues and have gone on a few 6-7 milers already. I will be buying a couple pair of these to last me in case the 11's are step backwards like the 9's were.

Thu, October 02,2008:
The cushioning on this shoe continues to be some of the best around, but it doesn't feel as balanced as past versions - Asics firmed up the forefoot cushioning, but it seems like they left the heel crashpad alone, giving the shoe an almost lopsided ride. The new asymmetrical lacing system is not so hot either, and you add that to Asics' insistence on giving this shoe that super-fat, overstuffed tongue, it's difficult to get the laces on this shoe dialed in just right.

I have been and avid and devout nimbus runner for years, but this new version forced me to see a sports medicine doctor/podiatrist. He confirmed it was the shoe and not my running. The new lacing and added materials on the outside at the forefoot of the shoe constricted my right foot too much. Went back to my older nimbus shoes and all pain went away. Unfortunately, I have to look at the competition going forward. I see some others have had the same problem.

Well cushioned and fairly stable shoes. Better midfoot fit than the last model. Could use a little more forefoot cushioning as opposed to just the heel. So many shoe makers are under the impression that most people run on their heels. I don't run on my heels, and I'm no exercise physiologist, but I was under the impression that you are not suppossed to do that. Anyway, good shoes.

5'8" 140lbs, 30-40 miles a week, narrow feet with a neutral gait. I have run in various previous versions of the Nimbus. They were my go-to shoe for long runs. The Nimbus 10 are a terrible disappointment. The mid-foot is stiffer than previous models - like running in flippers. Worse, the asymmetric toe thrashes my toes. I'd never had blisters before these shoes. Time to look at the competition.

What can I say, the shoe just doesn't fit me. I'm 5'8" and 195lbs with high arches and high feet (orthetics), Switched from NB 1061 (2E), the Nimbus 10 is much narrower: toe box and heel. Though it is lighter, I found the cushioning a bit hard, also, like another reviewer said, layering of material on the side of the toebox caused blisters on my toe (first blister in two years running). after just 2 runs, I had to return them.

The new asymmetrical lacing causes rubbing on my little toe. Also developed large blisters after my first run on each heel - these are problems which I never encountered with the Nimbus 10. Midsole seems the same a the 9, but as my toes are so uncomfortable I don't appreciate it as much.

At 6'4" 220#, I am not a runner, but these shoes help make running far less unenjoyable. A great fit and cushion, and more importantly they seem to help the feet roll through a stride. Best of all though is the increadibly ugly design. So ugly they're cool. My 3 yr old thinks the webbing makes them look like they're Spiderman shoes, so they must be stylish! Who knows, maybe I'll even run routinely.

Great shoe. I had been running in previous Nimbus for many years until using Nimbus 9 and being very dissapointed. Asics did a great job of getting back to great neutral superior cushioned shoe. I had switched to Saucony Triumph and while they were good they lack the bouce and cush of Nimbus. The Nimbus 10 is even better than Asics Kinetic which I ran in for the last few months. Congrats Asics for getting it right the wide widths is an added bonus that is much needed. The only negative I have now is that road runners sports does not stock mens size 7 2E leaving me to purchase it from their competition. Sad that after years of being loyal VIP customer I had to cancel not much response from RRS.

This is the everyday, long distance training shoe I've been looking for. I really loved the style when I first saw them, and had hoped they would be decent performers. Thankfully they have exceeded expectations. I had experienced a heel blister with the Kayano 14, and that has not been an issue through 75 miles on this shoe. The Vomero 3 gave me arch pain and was too cushioned and mushy. The Nimbus 10 is just the perfect cushioning set up for me. I will agree with the reviewer who said that there is a "hot spot" in the pinky toe area, but easing up the lacing up front and wearing nicely fitted socks helps. Honestly, for some reason that seems to be more of an issue with my white/blue pair than my silver/gold pair.

I was suffering from knee pain akin to runners knee. This shoe has allowed me to restart my 1/2 marathon training again! 245 lbs, 6' 0" running on asphalt. The upper had a hot spot on the little toes but with cushioned socks its not a problem. The shoe heel does sink and give quite a bit with a harder forefoot, perfect for me. I hope the outsole material stands up to concrete and asphalt though, only 6 miles and I can see some wear. At any rate I'm running again because of this shoe, Thank you Asics.

Fantastic shoe - I'm 6'0, 230lbs and this is easily the best fitting, best riding shoe I've worn in 15 years of running. Never wore the Nimbus before as never liked earlier versions, but these are wonderful. Instant classic.

Yeah definetly a 5-star shoe. The cushioning is excellent from heel to toe box. The collar is snug too, without being to constrictive. A winner!!

6'2" - 205lbs. I loved the Nimbus 6 and 7, didn't like the 8 or 9, but found another winner in the 10. Very comfortable, excellent cushioning and heel to toe transition, only have about 40 miles on them so far so can't speak for durability, but have only had good experiences with them so far. The only reviewer who didn't like these shoes seems to have never even worn them, just didn't like the look of them. Please only review shoes you have actually worn in the future, as I and most real runners would take comfort over looks any day.

Very, very good shoe. I've never really got on with the Nimbus before - I've found the forefoot too narrow, the heel (PHF) fits badly and the midsole pretty dead. This new version is a far far better shoe than the other ones I've tried. I tried the 7s and this feels probably closest to it. Much better than the 8/9. Was using the Mizuno Creation until version 9 added a really bad upper to a super-firm midsole. Looks like I'll be using the Nimbus for a while now. Fit is far improved - heel still a little strange, but OK. Forefoot much more comfortable with better lacing. Midsole has real softness and spring. No reason to doubt durability, but not enough miles to report on it yet.

Better than the 9 but the toe box is a little more constricted. I had to reorder 1/2 size up.

All these 5 star ratings can't be wrong. I received mine yesterday and they are wonderful. change the color once in a while but don't change the shoe. The new lacing system is great.

glove-like fit and very comfy Asics shoes. The store recommended Adidas Supernova for my feet but was not happy with it. I replaced it with Nimbus 10 and could not be happier.. I am looking forward to putting many many miles onto these awesome shoes.

LOVE IT. Upper feels great broken in by ~40 miles. Great glovelike fit (I'm doing 1/2 size up from dress shoe). *Great* balanced cushioning. Probably has room for aesthetic and breathability improvement, but that's being somewhat nitpicky. Really ecstatic so far, and appears to be pretty darn durable, too. Nice. I'm happy, can you tell? :)
