Like many others above, I have found the shoe simply too deep in the heel. I had blisters on both of my Achilles tendons before I ever ran in the shoes. I really hope that the next model goes back to the normal 'depth'.
Unfortunately, I could not return the shoes because I now live abroad, so I will be very very hesitant to purchase this model in the future.

I purchased the Cumulus shoe about 7 months ago, and soon found that my heels were becoming sore. I also play soccer, so I wondered if it was a combination of wearing cleats and running shoes, but it seems to be the running shoe. The back irritates my heel which causes horrible blisters. It would be great if a new generation came out with a lower collar!

I have purchased 3 generations of this shoe with much success so far, but I'm very disappointed in this one. Like Sandy, the back of the collar on my shoes came up too high, and they irritated my ankles. In addition, the construction of the shoe's arches was such that it gave me a blister on one of my feet near the back of the arch. I miss my Asics, but I CANNOT run in this generation of them. Maybe when the 11 comes out I'll try those...

I replaced a previous version of Cumulus shoes with these, and am very disappointed. The collar comes up too high and after several weeks of wear, they still rub on my ankle bones. And WHAT'S UP with the back of the collar coming up so high on the heel??? I'd pay extra if I could find the previous model somewhere, but alas, no one seems to have any.

I have been wearing the gel-cumulus shoe since 2000 and absolutely love this shoe.It is not perfect but have tried other brands and types without the success I receive with this shoe. I have run four marathons in this shoe.

I can't really say for sure but I have been wearing these for just over a month and have a problem with discomfort below the ankle and in the arch. I hope it's not the shoe, otherwise I'm not sure what shoe I should get as I have always been a firm believer of NB.

I've had these shoes for about six months. Initially they were great, but about a month ago I developed an Achilles Tendonitis, which I've never had before. The tall heel box was the culprit and I would not recommend this shoe for runners.

I've been a runner and Asics fan for years but this shoe is not their best work. Yes, looks nice and cushion feels great out of the box. HOWEVER, the rise around the ankle is too high (higher than their other models) and even just walking in them caused blisters on my heel at the top of the shoe. Very uncomfortable and absolutely impossible to wear for running.

I had to go down to 2A width in the Cumulus 10 to get the same fit as B width in Cumulus 9, but I love them. Ran close to 600 miles before I finally replaced them. The held up really well and kept me injury free. Guys at the local running store switched me to Nimbus, but I think the Cumulus is better and less expensive.

I would say is 4 stars for the way it looks but when i put on my feet i coudn't believe how good that tennis shoes felt. amazing! I've always been a Nike fan but to run thats the best one! I recommend to anyone. Just one advice: don't walk or drive, or do anything else, this shoes are just made for run. when u wear for walk or drive your aquiles starts to hurt.So if you want to walk that's not the right shoes for u.

this show was downright strange to me. They fit my feet absolutely perfectly, which is weird because I have a wide foot and these are meant for narrows. The cushioning in the heel is sky high, incredible. There are different compacted layers of gel in the front, and I feel as though they squeeze so much gel right into the ball of foot area that it has a hard time bending when running. This makes the shoe very stiff and hurts my achilles tendon alot. Also blistering on the top of my heel. I am a 100 pound 5'2 runner with a high weekly mileage. I am a midfoot/frontfoot striker whi has had some achilles problems in the past, but this shoe irritates it most of all. I recommend to runners for long runs who need alot of cushioning, and arch support, and a snug heel fit. better fot long runs then speedword, but if you have never had many feet problems, I recommend. Do not judge the achilles pain by walking in the store, many runners have this issue.

Love this shoe! Is my first pair of asics and absolutely love how they cushion my feet. Had only worn Nike shoes before but honestly, this pair sold me on asics. Just ran a half marathon in them with no discomfort at all!! They are just so comfortable for someone with a neutral foot.

I've had these shoes for over six months now and have been very pleased with them. I haven't noticed any blistering at all. Admittedly I probably don't run quite as many miles as most of the people online here, but nonetheless they have been a good shoe for me. Also, the red come in narrow which I definitely need.

I love the Gel Cumulus 10s and 9s. I go through running shoes very quick, and out of all the running shoes I have had, these ones are the best. They make me fast and they have great "cush"! I highly recommend these shoes (for people who have neutral feet). GET THEM!

OK, having worn the Kayanos for the last 3 years thinking that I needed the extra stability, these shoes have been a total relief. YAY I dont finish a run feeling like the tops of my ankles had somehow been supporting me, they have great "cush", expecially if you tend to run a bit forward on the balls of the feet, and my 4 miles in these today were the best I have had in years. The other reviewers are right that these are not bulit for stability--but that's why I love them. Just a comfy shoe for runnning in!

I would give this shoe 0 stars if I could. I ran in this shoe one time (could only tolerate 3 miles and had to stop) and have not been able to run since. This shoe has caused severe pain in my achilles tendon that I have been walking with a limp for 3 weeks now.

These shoes are just o-k. If you have medium to high arches look for another shoe because there is NO arch support in these. I agree with some of the other reviewers that they irritate the achilles......the search continues.

After I completed my return form and began looking on line for another pair of shoes, I was amazed at what I read in the reviews for this shoe. I have been an Asics shoe wearer for years and this is the first pair I had to return. I didn't get past 3 miles and my achilles were blistered. After that I tried running with higher socks and it still hurt. It is very disappointing.

I have worn Asics Gel for the last few years but this model hurt my left achilles. As a runner for over 20 years I was very alarmed when all of a sudden I was getting achilles pain - as soon as I stopped wearing the shoes - the pain stopped. I would not recommend this shoe to anyone.

everything hurt. this is the first pair of shoes I ever ran in that the bottom of my feet actually ached. Loved the Nimbus 7, never found anything else yet to compare.

I have been running in these shoes since April and put close to 900 miles on them and the cushion is just about gone in the forefoot. Not sure if I am going for another pair, usually I run in Saucony but the guy at the shop suggested trying these.

I have been a loyal Gel Cumulus customer for years. I go to the store, ask for a size 9 and leave. After 2 runs with the Cumulus 10s my achilles hurt, my calves hurt, and I had shin splints. Found a pair of Cumulus 9s and I am fine again!!!! The 10s feel different and they need to go back to the way they were before.

I'm in the military and we run alot, this shoe feels like your foot is being cushioned by clouds . I ran several 5ks and theirs nothing but an explosion of cushion. I defenetly would recommend this shoe to anyone thats looking for a cushioned run!

I liked running in these shoes;however, I had to stop using with just under 200 miles on them as they seem to have lost all their cushion and were causing me to get shin splints. Very disappointing because they were initially very comfortable. I will not be buying another pair.

I agree with the other reviewer that my achilles hurt after my first and second run. There was no 3rd run because I had blisters and bruising on my achilles. I was stunned because I LOVE the Cumulus and I am so so sad that the 9 is basically unavailable. I have saddly switched to another brand.

Very comfortable running shoe and somewhat springy. I tried the Nimbus 10 and they were very spring but caused blisters in my right heel. I prefer the Cumulus over the Nimbus because the back of the shoe is higher and doesn't rub on your heel like the Nimbus.

I have loved the previous models but after trying the Gel Cumulus 10 my foot hurt in 3 different places. My achillis tendon hurt, my arch and the forefront of my foot hurt. Went back to the 9's and I'm back to being fine. Don't know what I'll do when I can't purchase the 9's anymore.

As much as I loved my 9s I always felt like they weren't sturdy enough and wanted something with a little more substance. As soon as I tried on my 10s I knew my wishlist had been filled - more cushioning and stability and I don't think they will be wearing out as fast as the 9s tended to.

I have bought 4 pairs of Cumulus in the last year. LOVE these! Excellent Cushioning. Did not think that they could improve from the last 2 models. Thanks Asics. Wanted to keep on running once the race was over. Highly recommend to those who would like cushioning in their running shoe.

I have worn this asics model since the VI. Since the VI I have progressively been less happy with this shoe. I figured I needed to try a new shoe but when I tried this on compared to the other shoes this was the best. The feel is much more like the old VI (which I still have for gardening). it seems to have more cushion too but it could always use more and only time will tell if the cushion holds up a bit longer. So far...very happy! Remember every foot is different, yours isn't just like mine.
