This shoes was PERFECT for my flat feet and gave me great over pronation control not to mention cushioning

I run like 30+ miles a weeek. I've tried many other MC shoes, but right now, I would say this one is the best in the market. Its light, yet gives the comfort and support my foot needs. I find it wears easier than say a Mizuno, but far better shoe at this moment. In fact, I'm looking to buy another shoe, and I'm looking at the Evo5.

I've run a marathon in the GE-2's without probles so I decided to try the newer version. My initial impression wasn't good as they tend to run narrower than the previous version. I brought them back to RRS (gotta love their return policy!) and went to the wider size and they've worked out perfect. Bought 3 pairs and even ran a marathon in them with no problems. I've had trouble finding shoes that fit my wide, low arched feet (I wear orthotics too) so I'm stocking up with several more pairs while they're available.

5'9" 190lbs OverPro 10 Miles per week Like all Asics Control shoes these fit my feet well, have great cushion and have nice flexibility.

Should have paid more heed to the other reviewers. Too narrow and misshapen in the arch, fits unlike any asics shoe I've owned. ~50 miles on it and I'm retiring it.

5"9" 180 lbs. heel striker, 25 miles/wk. worse ASICS i've owned. no cushion, flat feeling. feels like they already have 300 miles on them. get the Foundation 8 instead. night and day difference.

If the heel wasn't so narrow, it'd be a really great shoe. It's stiff in the right spots and soft in the right spots. It's a very light shoe and still cushiony and supportive.

Fri, April 17,2009:
Although not as form fitting and comfortable as the 3's, I haven't had a overuse injury from using the evolutions. i might have to change to a new shoe if the 5's are made similarily.

Have run in evolution for 3 years and loved them this version should not be a motion cantrol shoe, to narrow from toe to heel and very stiff. Please make evelution 5 like the previous 3.

Also, orthotics (at least mine) work great in these shoes!

The shoe did take a while to break in. I almost brought them back, but I am now very glad I didn't.

Outstanding shoe. Takes a bit to get used to and break in, but alot of support in a lightweight package. Highly recommended.

I agree with Kevin that the Evolution 4 is unlike any other version. I stocked up on the Evolution 2 when I discovered it was the best shoe I've ever run in. Evolution 4 is very narrow in the middle of the foot and roomy in the toe.

If you are not a big guy but require a Motion Control shoe this is the gold standard we have been waiting for! I have tried all the Evolution versions and this is by far and away the best.

I love this shoe so much I just purchased 3 more pair to store for future use. THis is NOT a show for you if you are a neutral foot, but this is a great shoe if you need the motion control balanced with a little flexibility when compared with other MC+ shoes. Happy running!

Fri, November 07,2008:
I've run in every version of the Gel Evolution and have always gotten the same size, 12.5 D. But these shoes fit unlike any pair of Asics I've owned. The mid section is extremely narrow and there's so much room in the forefoot, I probably should have ordered a size down! These shoes have worked well for me for a long time. But I'm very disappointed with this latest version and am hoping Asics goes back to the drawing board for the next version.

I have owned the evolution 1-3 and loved them. I have flat feet but am not a huge guy. I had to return the Evolution 4 because it was too rigid compared to the previous models, the heel was too stiff and gave me foot problems.

Sun, October 19,2008:
Had to go to 2E to get the fit right, but the shoe still rides strangely to me. The heel is very rigid due to the high TPU post(more so than the beast or renegade) and the TPU post rubs my medial heel. Forefoot is nice and flexible, but the rigidity of the heel makes the ride clompy, not asics smooth, at least to me. The solyte is softer than in the 3 but the smoothness of the 2 and 3 versions is missing.

I love this shoe. I have worn the 2110, 2120, and 2130 over the last few years. I am a big guy (210#), and lately I wasn't getting the support I needed. The Evolution has given me everyhting I was lacking in previous shoes. I wear a 13 4E and I am very happy with the fit.

Fri, September 19,2008:
Love this latest version of the Evo. The only issue I had was the insole was giving me blisters so I pulled it out and put in a plain vanilla insole (as opposed the 'cupped heel' version that the Evo 4 provides). I've never looked back since! By far the greatest motion control shoe ever -- and I've run in everything from the Equalon, the Beast, and the Addiction 8. Nothing compares to the lightweight and amazing support that the Evo 4 provides. 5 stars for me.

Mon, September 15,2008:
I like the Evolution 3's better because of the fit. I went up a half size on the 4's to accomodate the arch placement on my orthotics, and it took a lot of experimenting and alternate lacing to get to the point where I could run longer distances in comfort with this shoe. I remember the Evolution 3's feeling good after only a couple of runs. On the plus side, I do think the heel cushioning is increased. And yeah, there's lots of extra room in the toe box. At first I was concerned about lateral movement, but because of the tightness through the midfoot it hasn't been a problem.

The shoe fits nothing like the Evo3. Very tight on the width. Get a size wider.

Phenomenal shoe! I have run in all versions of the Evos, all versions of the Beast, the NB 1010 and 1011 (which are all super shoes in their own rights). But the Evo 4 is perfect. Asics hits a grand slam with these shoes! Fantastic

I have been buying the ASICS Evolutions for the past three years. I was happy with the new color schemes, but these shoes took longer and are wearing out faster than the Evolution 3s.

Mon, June 30,2008:
I could barely get my foot into the D size and the 2E size was still too tight so I can't really give an evaluation on the performance of the shoe. These shoes fit nothing like any Asics shoes I've worn in the past. They fit my feet more like something made by Adidas. I ended up going with the Foundation 8.

These shoes are too narrow for me even in a 4 e width. They feel narrower than the Evol 3. I will be sending them back. Since I didn,t run in them I can't give more info.
