I'm a severe overpronater, I have flat feet, prone to plantar faciatis, and I'm fairly heavy. I'm hard on shoes, and my feet often ache. These shoes are incredible. They're sturdy, correct my gait comfortably. There's enough padding to eliminate the pounding, but are not too squishy. Usually my foot forces the shoes to adapt to their poor shape, but these shoes pushed back, keeping my foot in line, and I no longer need my orthotics, as the shoe doesn't need it (and is more comfortable with the original insole in place). I had no problems with blistering. The 1/2 size up advice is correct, and I'm glad I ordered up.

I am a big fan of Nike running shoe. I decided to switch it up and go with an Asics brand. I heard from a friend and through reputation they were great running shoe. But I did not like this shoe.I am a long distance runner .It didn't provide me the foot support I wanted. I have low arches and founded that trying to break the shoe in, in the two weeks running in them cause me constant foot pains and blisters on my toes.

This is number four in the Gel Evolution Series. They are getting lighter, roomier, and a little more flexible. I run in nothing else.

Really like these shoes. I realize they are technically for overweight people and I am skinny, but I use them on my long runs. They have worn well. Very comfortable. Great support for my pronation!

I love this shoe!! Been waiting for my size to come in havent seen them available yet. I have bone spurs in the bottom of my heels and had foot surgery on one this shoe works perfect with my flat feet. I ordered new balance shoes and they are not working well with me so far!! THEY NEED MY SIZE IN!

I loved this shoe I ran my marathon and two half marathons in it. I felt like I was flying when I ran in it. I have flat feet so it gave me great support.

Heel was tight and I developed shin splints in these shoes. I have low arches, overall it was just an ok pair.

I just returned these shoes. I have been fortunate to have no problems in general but when I ran with these shoes I immediately developed shin splints and L. knee pain. Went back to Mizunos.

I'm an overpronater too and these shoes were the answer to my prayers. I suffered from shin splints and realized I needed more stability. Just finished my first 1/2 marathon in Indy in my Asics Evolutions and had NO pain the entire race. Thank you!! A life-time Asics Gel runner!

I've always had issues with shin splints and have used the Asics GEL-Evolutions for several years now. Great shoe that provides the comfort and stability I need. I also recently ran the Indy 1/2 marathon and this shoe helped me to cross the finish line pain-free. Congrats to Wendy on her first Indy 1/2!

I love these shoes. I had the Evolution 3s and these are even better. I had bought a pair of Brooks Ariel 10s first only because the Evolution 4s were out of stock. I ended up with really bad shin splints. I returned them to Roadrunner and got my Evolution 4s. They fit perfectly, no problems at all.

I am a college athlete, 110lbs., running about 40 miles per week. This shoe feels a little heavy and awkward, especially the heel part.

This shoe is the only shoe I wear. I like the support along with cushioning and never get blisters. I am new to running (just over 1 year)and really enjoy it and to me the shoe makes the difference.

I had worn 1130s for years, but felt like the 1140 wasn't supportive enough, so I switched to this shoe. I actually got really bad blisters at first, and it took them longer to callus over than usual. But apparently it was worth it, because if I look down at my feet while I'm running, I am not overpronating anymore. Overall: great support, and once broken it, very comfortable.

I've been running in evolution for years, but for some reason evolution 4 gave me a blister on the toe. Otherwise, this is a great shoe, good support and cushion!

This is my first pair of Evolutions; I previously alternated the Kayano, Trance, and Equalon (all with orthodic inserts). The Evolution beats these other shoes (with the inserts) hands down. It felt like a clunky shoe the first few times I used it, not very flexible, but I am more used to it now. I didn't have any problems with blisters or fit. The Evolution has solved my overpronation problem in a way I never thought possible, I don't know why I waited so long! (well, actually I do, when I tried them on in the past they felt too clunky--but that's the support and control overpronators need!) Highly recommended for overpronators.

I had several Evolution 2 shoes and not impressed with the 4. The toe and mid-section is not the same. It is not as comfortable as the 2 especially for long distance running.
