I will say I loved these shoes.. the most solid of any trail running shoe I've had and great traction. However, after about 100 miles or so the tread on the rear "pods" started peeling off. Kinda sad cause I think the read pod design is what keeps these shoes so stable on round terrain. Ended up taking them back on the RR warranty.

I love this shoe. I wear the Gel Kayano on the road, and I used to wear them on the trails too. While the fit transfers perfectly, the difference between these and the Kayanos is like a road bike and a full-suspension mt bike. I don't mean that these are bouncy-- I mean that you can run over stuff that you would either avoid or be really careful with in regular running shoes. The trails I run on range from fire roads to gnarly, rocky, rooted singletrack. It's amazing the confidence these shoes give me. The only thing is that don't think they are the only shoes you need. You do not want to wear these shoes on the road for any period of time. They are heavier and the soles are not absorbent enough for asphalt or concrete, in my opinion. But that's not what these shoes are for, so it's not a fault.

Just ran 8 miles over an iced over trail and these puppies saved me from a bad slip more than once. Great stability, traction & rugged build. Lacing is nice & snug, feet stay nice & dry, however my left ankle sometimes gets uncomfortably rubbed. Mid sole is well cushioned but a bit "slappy" on asphalt but then again you would not use these for that surface. Overall very nice shoe for Minnesota winter trail running.

I regularly do 20 mile PtReyes hill hikes and my local paved 2mi hill. I never wear socks, just tape and have tried boots but trail shoes are always better. This model is far superior to anything I have ever used. I am buying another pair. It is no accident that they work, someone thought about it and made them light and sticky with some protection for your feet; they always hurt but much less in these winners.
